What is this and is it required for proper functionality of the PTC Community?
i created a thread about maple flow months ago and someone deleted it without explanation. I'm surprised they have this posted. in any event, I'm curious to see what people think of it. <Community MGMT Note: These conversations about moving -deleting negative threads were moved from> https://community.ptc.com/t5/PTC-Mathcad/How-Maple-Flow-Compares-to-Mathcad/m-p/733113#M196201
I just got this error trying to send a second private message to someone? Anyone else ever see this?
Why are you limited to sending private messages in this system./community to only one recipient? Ended up copying and resending to the second person.
We love answers! You have made it so far! Let's talk about one of the critical things to do on the PTC Community: mark a reply as a Best Answer. When you start a topic, you will receive replies from other members. When one of the replies is a solution to your initial inquiry, you should accept it as a Best Answer. Just in case, we will send you an automatic reminder after a few days for you to check the replies on your topic. Why should you consider marking a Best Answer? Consider that someone took the time to look at your post and reply. A little acknowledgement goes a long way with marking a reply as a Best Answer if the suggestion works for your problem. Of course, a post to thank or further the conversation is a plus and always appreciated! Additionally, posts with a Best Answer are returned with a higher preference by search engines on the Community. You will signal a greater value for your conversation by marking an answer. This is a strong contribution to the entire Community! La
What is the process to request the addition of a label to classify posts? As an example mapkeys ; in the 3D Part & Assembly Design forum there are 600+ posts about mapkeys. It would be nice to have this label available for use when creating posts. It is also a bit confusing as to where mapkey discussions should be posted, Customization or 3D Part & Assembly Design. Clarification on where to post common labels may be helpful. I suspect the intent is that Customization was created for the APIs (Toolkit, Jlink, etc.) and was not intended for discussions regarding customization in Creo Parametric that is controlled by the customization.ui file.
Currently there is over 13,000 ideas and only 2 pages have been marked as "delivered". PTC should be listening to their customers more.

Hi, PTC Community, I wanted to let you know that April 2nd, Friday morning (ET), our community is next on the list with our vendor to migrate to a new server environment. The Community Team will be monitoring/reviewing the platform at the time of migration to proactively identify any potential issues to our community. You may also notice some (approximately 6 ) test posts across different locations in the community. In the event you notice any platform or feature performance issues, please notify our moderation team via "Notify Moderator" link on any post. If for some reason, you are not able to log in to "Notify Moderator," feel free to reach out to the Community Team via our Community Team mailbox community@ptc.com Thank you for your participation on the PTC Community!
I notice that the last couple of weeks the Mathcad section of this forum is spammed quite a lot. The postings are from accounts created just to make one single post and on a first quick glance seem to be a valid answer. Sometimes they also contain a more or less hidden link - apparently to entice other users to visit the linked pages. Is this problem already known to PTC? It should, as I used the "Notify Moderator" option a lot on some of those posts, asking for the postings to be deleted (with little success). Are others experiencing similar annoying issues in other parts of this forum? @Jaime_Lee Is PTC already taking measures to cope with the problem? In any case, I couldn't find anything about it in the community announcements so far. Here are a few links to some of the posts I am talking about https://community.ptc.com/t5/PTC-Mathcad/MathCAD-Trial/m-p/700477/highlight/true#M193106 https://community.ptc.com/t5/PTC-Mathcad/hi/m-p/700492/highlight/true#M193107 https://community
The PTC Community Team would like to announce that there is a new Mathcad Installation Forum where customers can freely ask questions and discuss Mathcad installation topics. In addition to providing a place for these Mathcad conversations, our PTC Support Team has also preloaded several "Mathcad Installation Help Topics" that may address your specific installation inquiry. Please take a moment to review and engage. Here is a sneak peek to what type of content you will find. This is one example of community knowledge sharing. I know we have many community members that regularly help each other with PTC products and services. Thank you for all your contributions!
I was just Kudo'ing someone and got this message: What might have caused this?
PTC Community Decemer Update: -Ranks, Badges, and AVATARS! Before we close out 2020, the community team wanted to make sure everyone is aware of recent updates to the PTC Community! Please visit the PTCooler for the PTC Community Team Holiday message and the list of November Top Engagers (or Encouragers! 😊) The PTC Community Avatar Library will be updated on January 8th. If you would like to keep your existing avatar, please visit the FAQ on How to Save and Replace My Current Avatar. The PTC Community Rank FAQ has been updated to reflect new rank icons that have been added to the community. (Note: Some community members are having discussions with community management about the size and placement of these icons. You may see changes in 2021). Be sure to also congrat
The button "Start a Topic" in Creo Modeling Questions (link below) is disabled. Someone know the reason? I would have a question regarding Creo Parametrics to do. https://community.ptc.com/t5/Creo-Modeling-Questions/bd-p/CreoModeling Thanks!
I just wanted to add an idea and went to: https://community.ptc.com/t5/Creo-Parametric-Ideas/idb-p/creoparametric and when trying to click "Suggest an Idea", I get the red circle with a slash (do not enter) symbol. Is there a new place to suggest ideas? Thanks, Dale
As mentioned on Community Announcements the Creo Community is undergoing layout changes. Screenshots are provided here for your easy reference. High-level overview of changes: Existing 11 Creo Parametric Discussion boards are being remapped to 6 boards. Single Creo Elements/Direct board is being expanded. New All Products Community page
Doesn't look like there is an idea space for the community as a whole so I am putting this here. Sometimes I have a product idea that becomes current functionality despite it not getting a lot of votes and bubbling up to the top of the list (enough for a moderator to flag it as current functionality). For these cases it would be nice to be able to retire the idea or to flip the switch to "current functionality" if I know it has already been incorporated in a newer release. To be clear the functionality would only be turned on for the original poster to retire his or her own idea.
Hi, Everyone, Important News! The PTC Community will be on READ ONLY status December 4th-7th December 11th-14th while the Creo Community content is being remapped. A new "All Community" Product Page will also be added during this time. Please note, in order to receive email notifications, you will need to re-subscribe to your favorite Creo content. To see a list of the new Creo layout, please visit the PTC Community Welcome and How To board. The video below has the details on the Creo remapping. (view in My Videos)
Recently went to send someone a message and had the drop down from their name to the "Send Message" box. Typed my message and sent it. When I got a reply back, it wasn't from the person that I sent the message. Just a found out the the "Send Message" button brings you to the messaging app within the software, it does not start a message from the person from which you clicked "Send Message" Not sure if this is works as intended or it is a bug. Becareful, Dale
Hi Community, In the event that you missed the announcement on PTC's eSupport Portal, we wanted to let you know that scheduled maintenance is planned for Saturday November 14th between 10 and 11 am EST. Our Community will be placed in a read only state during this time. If you have any questions, please let us know. Leigh
Hi, Everyone, Over the past few weeks, we have been experiencing connectivity issues with our SSO process resulting in community user names being reset. Our IT department is aware and investigating ways to resolve the connectivity issues. We are taking measures to not allow the usernames to be reset during these connectivity occurrences which may, in the short-term, interfere with your ability to log into the community. We apologize for the inconvenience. Note: Usernames can be changed directly by community members at any time which I recommend doing after the fix is scheduled on Thursday, November 5th. Visit PTC Community Welcome + How Tos to find steps on how to change your username. We will keep this announcement updated. If you ever have trouble accessing the community (outside this current situation), you can always send an email to community@ptc.com which is monitored by the PTC Community Team. Best, Jaime Lee
Newly registered PTC Community members (after August 28th), are system assigned a temporary PTC Community username (aka screen name) which includes a combination of letters and numbers unique to each individual. To optimize the PTC Community member experience, we encourage each member to change the default username to something more creative or personal (i.e. CADMGR, JSmith, Sally_456). To change your username, follow these steps:Select “My Settings” from your profile picture in the top menu bar.Click the “Update Username" button and then "Save". 3. Enter your desired username and click "Save." Last edited by Catalina, April 2026

The "Resource for Reporting" topic found here is a page that was migrated from the old Jive community. It contains several links to attachments that no longer are valid, including ones like this: https://community.ptc.com/servlet/JiveServlet/download/8686-2-111791/ADMINISTRATIVE_Total%20EPMDocuments%20and%20File%20Size%20by%20Context.qml.zip Were the attachments migrated over? If so, is there a way to update these links so they are valid again?
If you get an email because someone commented on an idea you posted to the community, the contained link pointing to the comment will give an error message "Idea Not Found. The idea you are trying to access is not available.", if you are not logged in. I suggest to change the message to something more correct/obvious, so the users knows the idea is there, but that he has to login to access it.
