Creo 5.0 Student edition freezes during installtion at 2%...over and over again. I have read this is common, but have yet to find a solution. Has anyone else experienced this? Any solutions found?
Hi all, I am the IT admin at a secondairy school tasked with getting the Creo software up and running.A tech teacher passed me half a sheet of information regarding a course he had completed which granted him the use of a set of licenses for our scool to use. I followed the instructions and created a PTC account and was able to install the floating license onto a server. After installing Creo2 onto a workstation I noticed that I can only open the software when logged on as an administrator. When trying to open the software as a standard user nothing happens.I have tried uninstalling the antivirus software on the pc, As well as giving everyone full access rights to the PTC folder itself to no end. Thats the first problem. I had posted this issue previously to be told to try the 2 steps above. After reporting back that these solutions had not worked i was told to submit a proper support case.I did this twice and recieved no response. I have subsequently tried downloading Creo 3 to see if
Since this is a frequently asked question, I thought would create a document explaining the best practice for getting the CAD KOP into Windchill. The FTC and FRC CAD KOP's come with their own internal folder structures. This is something you can mimic in Windchill or create your own folder structure. Also, putting ALL the CAD KOP files into Windchill is not a prerequisite, since in many cases you may not use them all. Lots of teams leave them on the local machine and check them into Windchill as they are incorporated into the design. Lets start with some ground rules to make sure their are no misconceptions. CAD files can only be added to Windchill using Creo Files are opened in Creo, saved to a workspace and subsequently uploaded and checked into Windchill as new CAD files CAD files cannot be added to Windchill using any of the following methods. This will create documents in Windchill and not CAD files. These options are good for any other type of electronic file, except C
I am going to start using the PTC curriculum "How to Model Just About Anything" and I looking for suggestions on best practices for sharing files and folders with students. Our district uses Moodle and Google Classroom to distribute assignments. Students have limited ability when it comes to what they can download. Thanks

Can Creo 3.0 and Creo 2.0 interact? Our school computers and most of the returning students run Creo 2.0 (releases ranging from M070 to M100 or later); students that download it now, of course, are getting Creo 3.0. We can seamlessly open Creo 2.0 assemblies and parts in the new Creo 3.0 installations, but will we run into issues going the other way? We're not in a position to upgrade the school computers, so if we can't go back and forth, we're going to have to stick with 2.0 everywhere. Is Creo 2.0 still available for download? Thanks,Noa RensingFRC Team 2877, The Ligerbots
Hi there, I am on a FTC team and am trying to install creo. I fill out the form and it takes me to a page with a link that says download instructions. However, the link (http://apps.ptc.com/schools/references/install_creo3_schools.pdf) yields an error 404. Does anyone know how to install Creo 3.0 for students.
PTC has UTTERLY dropped the ball on this. Solidworks is being taught at many colleges, while none of the Engineers out of school that we've talked to have Pro/E experience. We cannot find someone who can hit the ground running, and some candidates we'd like to hire refuse to learn it on the job.Legacy files will only keep PTC alive for so long. Pro/E NEEDS to be taught in the majority of universities for it to survive in the future.
A little help ...Getting dreaded "404" from this link: http://apps.ptc.com/schools/references/install_creo3_schools.pdf I understand the license code to install Creo 3.0 is listed in this document. If anyone can share the license code needed for Creo 3.0, I would be most appreciative.I see the license code for 2.0, but from comments by others, it seems they are NOT interchangeable ... and it did not working for me : (But since I have hours and hours to kill (sarcasm), I figured what the hey.Any help will be most appreciated.ThxKevin

Assembling the AndyMark Toughbox Mini gearbox (for practice) and having trouble with one of the pin constraints. The pin on the TB Mini Small Hex Shaft (am-0152) looks to be successful (Placement reports constraints fully defined). But when I hit ok, the status bar gives the following message and I cannot rotate the part with Ctrl-Alt-LMouse: The connection "Connection_3" of component AM-0152.PRT from 2015_DRIVE_GEARBOX.ASM with id path [ 48 ] will be suppressed because of invalid constraint(s).Connection 3 is the rotation constraint, which I have set to the middle plane of the shaft and the housing - just like the part in the KOP. The other pins on the CIM motors and the output shaft work just fine.If this is not the forum for asking, please point me to the right one. Thanks!
PTC is taking Windchill offline for an hour this Friday to install and configure some software updates to the system. There should be no data loss, just system downtime. To ensure there is no data loss, be sure to check in any CAD models in your workspaces before Friday morning. The updates will address three important topics.Creating and Editing Document AttachmentsMaking Projects visible to Guest membersPublishing support for the following file types: BMP, PNG, JPG, GIF, TIF, PDF, DRW & DXF
I found the file MarkCheli suggested when getting an "Invalid Host" error on start up of Creo2" If you see "Invalid Host" in the Warning Message List dialog box then try this guide...http://apps.ptc.com/schools/references/support_reorder_network.pdf "This explained the reason I was having this problem. The software is linked to the wireless card. As I had to put in a new wireless card I no longer have access to the card I was using when the software was installed the first time. Can you tell me what I can do fix this problem? Thanks for any help
I am sure there are many FRC teams building a custom chassis this year and many teams modifying the kit chassis to support omni and mecanum drives. I'm curious if there is anything PTC can do to support your design efforts when it comes to the FRC KOP. For a long time, PTC has only provided the actual KOP items. If you take a look around any event, you'll notice teams using all kinds of designs and all kinds of suppliers for components. I'm curious if it would help to provide some of the VEXpro chassis, or possibly some other custom designs that are being reused year after year? What about wheels, motors, chains, belts, etc that are available from the regular suppliers. Give us some feedback and I'l start compiling a list of how we can enhance the FRC KOP. -Scott
I keep getting a license request failure for my 3.0 student edition, everything downlaoded and installed fine the other night but now when I sat down to do homework problems I'm getting this failure message. I need somebody to fix it by the end of the day so I can get to work on assignments. please help as soon as you can-thank you Jason
How long does it usually take to receive the invitation for Windchill?Who should I contact if I haven't received this yet?
I applied for a Creo 3.0 liscense and there is not a page with the liscense number. I can't seem to get a liscense without applying for the 2.0 version. Should I not be getting the 3.0 or is this part of the page not yet generated. Thanks.
