Assembling the AndyMark Toughbox Mini gearbox (for practice) and having trouble with one of the pin constraints. The pin on the TB Mini Small Hex Shaft (am-0152) looks to be successful (Placement reports constraints fully defined). But when I hit ok, the status bar gives the following message and I cannot rotate the part with Ctrl-Alt-LMouse: The connection "Connection_3" of component AM-0152.PRT from 2015_DRIVE_GEARBOX.ASM with id path [ 48 ] will be suppressed because of invalid constraint(s).Connection 3 is the rotation constraint, which I have set to the middle plane of the shaft and the housing - just like the part in the KOP. The other pins on the CIM motors and the output shaft work just fine.If this is not the forum for asking, please point me to the right one. Thanks!
PTC is taking Windchill offline for an hour this Friday to install and configure some software updates to the system. There should be no data loss, just system downtime. To ensure there is no data loss, be sure to check in any CAD models in your workspaces before Friday morning. The updates will address three important topics.Creating and Editing Document AttachmentsMaking Projects visible to Guest membersPublishing support for the following file types: BMP, PNG, JPG, GIF, TIF, PDF, DRW & DXF
I found the file MarkCheli suggested when getting an "Invalid Host" error on start up of Creo2" If you see "Invalid Host" in the Warning Message List dialog box then try this guide...http://apps.ptc.com/schools/references/support_reorder_network.pdf "This explained the reason I was having this problem. The software is linked to the wireless card. As I had to put in a new wireless card I no longer have access to the card I was using when the software was installed the first time. Can you tell me what I can do fix this problem? Thanks for any help
I am sure there are many FRC teams building a custom chassis this year and many teams modifying the kit chassis to support omni and mecanum drives. I'm curious if there is anything PTC can do to support your design efforts when it comes to the FRC KOP. For a long time, PTC has only provided the actual KOP items. If you take a look around any event, you'll notice teams using all kinds of designs and all kinds of suppliers for components. I'm curious if it would help to provide some of the VEXpro chassis, or possibly some other custom designs that are being reused year after year? What about wheels, motors, chains, belts, etc that are available from the regular suppliers. Give us some feedback and I'l start compiling a list of how we can enhance the FRC KOP. -Scott
I keep getting a license request failure for my 3.0 student edition, everything downlaoded and installed fine the other night but now when I sat down to do homework problems I'm getting this failure message. How long does it usually take to receive the invitation for Windchill?Who should I contact if I haven't received this yet?
I applied for a Creo 3.0 liscense and there is not a page with the liscense number. I can't seem to get a liscense without applying for the 2.0 version. Should I not be getting the 3.0 or is this part of the page not yet generated. Thanks.
Hello-We are trying to 3D print a part (that is a solid) on a 3D Systems Ekocycle Cube - but .stl is not a file save option (file attached). Is there a licensing issue with the student version that limits .stl files? This will be a significant issue for FIRST Robotics teams that have the combination of Ekocycle grants and Creo Student edition.Thanks-
I want to avoid saying... Inventor did this, but how do you do it in Creo? However... Inventor allowed us to setup a project folder on a network drive and associated a library of parts with the folder allowing more than one student to work with the folder at a time. Is there an equivalent using PTC Creo. Also... Can someone recommend a structure... or a phillosphy on how to get started. Meaning... I've always tought my students a basic configuration and a folder structure to setup before anything is drawn. Any recommendations?
I've installed successfully on my laptop, but I'm having trouble on my desktop. I enter the product code from the install instruction, enter my username and password and get the error shown below. (Note that I blanked out the product code from the installation instructions pdf.)
I wanted to download the Creo 2.0 Student version , but when installing I only got the choices of Creo 3.0. So when I ran the program it gave me a warning message of : " License request failed for feature", how can I solve this?
I was wondering how I could find the center of gravity in an asm. I know in a part file, you create a CSYS with relations to PRT_CSYS_DEF, but when I do it in an asm, it doesn't work. Also, how can I get the weight of a part and/or asm? These facts would be very useful to have on hand for the upcoming FRC build season.
Hello, in 2012 I purchased MathCAD 15 (for download, so I don't have a CD). I just got a new computer and want to transfer the software & license over rather than having to buy it all over again. I just recieved the e-mail with the license (.dat) file I requested, but I don't have the MathCAD software on my new computer to start the process (again I downloaded, so no CD). Is there anyway I can be sent another e-mail with a link to download the software again? I have the order details from my initial purchase such as the order number and product code if needed. Thank you for your help!
We are ready to purchas a 3D printer so we can print some of our custom parts for this season. We've narrowed our search down to the Maker Bot Replicator, and the MakerGear printers. Does anyone out there have experience with either of these printers, or have a suggestion of an even better device to print from? Thanks for any tips.
I don't see the option to import a plan into ProjectLink, although the export option is there. Is there a way to bring something in from MS Project? Thanks,Walter
I am getting ready to use the curriculum in my class and have been testing the exercises. As you go through Exercise 2 you work on "Cool Bike" and then it shifts to "Cool Car" for a page or 2 and then right back to "Cool Bike"Is this an error or are you supposed to bounce back and forth? It was confusing to me and I can only imagine what my students will think when they get there.
Hi all,We have made this post for you in order to give us your feedback and thoughts regarding the PTC IoT Academic ProgramThanks,
Attached is the AndyMark AM14U CAD models in the Long, Wide and Square configuration. They will be in the full KOP expected by January 12, 2015, but provided here since the full KOP is not complete yet. New -20 version added on 08-JAN-2015 with various changes. See included _readme_.txt for details.New -30 version added on 10-JAN-2015 with default layer updates.
Dear all,I'm a new user of Creo 5.0 (Student Edition). I need to save my file as .unv. Unfortunatelly, i don't have this type of extension in "Save as type". Does anybody have the same problem??
Trying to delect a part and gettina an error thatCAD Part - 24_tooth_cluster_gear.prt, A.1 could not be deleted/purged. There are objects associated to it through EPMBuildHistory link. Not sure where these assoications came from, what they are or why they're only on one part, but I'd like to get rid of them so I can delete the part and reuse the name. Thanks,Walter
Hi I am not able to access eLearning Library
Hi,We've been learning Creo this year and were able to design most of our first FTC robot before building it (hooray!) So, sorry for the newbie questions. After getting a lot of the basics down, we are redoing our CAD so we tweak our design using what we've learned. So we have a few sub-assemblies built that we are going to use to make the final assembly easier and quicker to put together. The problem is that we are trying to "save a mirror assembly" for a rack-and-pinion lift and we end up with a scrambled assembly with a bunch of warnings. We found some documentation here for Creo 3 that seems similar, but can't locate the Creo 2 docs for some reason:http://help.ptc.com/creo_hc/creo30_optm_hc/usascii/index.html#page/optm/options_modeler/asm_one_sub/To_Mirror_an_Assembly.htmlAny hints?Thank you!
