Hello-We are trying to 3D print a part (that is a solid) on a 3D Systems Ekocycle Cube - but .stl is not a file save option (file attached). Is there a licensing issue with the student version that limits .stl files? This will be a significant issue for FIRST Robotics teams that have the combination of Ekocycle grants and Creo Student edition.Thanks-
I want to avoid saying... Inventor did this, but how do you do it in Creo? However... Inventor allowed us to setup a project folder on a network drive and associated a library of parts with the folder allowing more than one student to work with the folder at a time. Is there an equivalent using PTC Creo. Also... Can someone recommend a structure... or a phillosphy on how to get started. Meaning... I've always tought my students a basic configuration and a folder structure to setup before anything is drawn. Any recommendations?
I've installed successfully on my laptop, but I'm having trouble on my desktop. I enter the product code from the install instruction, enter my username and password and get the error shown below. (Note that I blanked out the product code from the installation instructions pdf.)
I wanted to download the Creo 2.0 Student version , but when installing I only got the choices of Creo 3.0. So when I ran the program it gave me a warning message of : " License request failed for feature", how can I solve this?
I was wondering how I could find the center of gravity in an asm. I know in a part file, you create a CSYS with relations to PRT_CSYS_DEF, but when I do it in an asm, it doesn't work. Also, how can I get the weight of a part and/or asm? These facts would be very useful to have on hand for the upcoming FRC build season.
Hello, in 2012 I purchased MathCAD 15 (for download, so I don't have a CD). I just got a new computer and want to transfer the software & license over rather than having to buy it all over again. I just recieved the e-mail with the license (.dat) file I requested, but I don't have the MathCAD software on my new computer to start the process (again I downloaded, so no CD). Is there anyway I can be sent another e-mail with a link to download the software again? I have the order details from my initial purchase such as the order number and product code if needed. Thank you for your help!
We are ready to purchas a 3D printer so we can print some of our custom parts for this season. We've narrowed our search down to the Maker Bot Replicator, and the MakerGear printers. Does anyone out there have experience with either of these printers, or have a suggestion of an even better device to print from? Thanks for any tips.
I don't see the option to import a plan into ProjectLink, although the export option is there. Is there a way to bring something in from MS Project? Thanks,Walter
I am getting ready to use the curriculum in my class and have been testing the exercises. As you go through Exercise 2 you work on "Cool Bike" and then it shifts to "Cool Car" for a page or 2 and then right back to "Cool Bike"Is this an error or are you supposed to bounce back and forth? It was confusing to me and I can only imagine what my students will think when they get there.
Hi all,We have made this post for you in order to give us your feedback and thoughts regarding the PTC IoT Academic ProgramThanks,
Attached is the AndyMark AM14U CAD models in the Long, Wide and Square configuration. They will be in the full KOP expected by January 12, 2015, but provided here since the full KOP is not complete yet. New -20 version added on 08-JAN-2015 with various changes. See included _readme_.txt for details.New -30 version added on 10-JAN-2015 with default layer updates.
Dear all,I'm a new user of Creo 5.0 (Student Edition). I need to save my file as .unv. Unfortunatelly, i don't have this type of extension in "Save as type". Does anybody have the same problem??
Trying to delect a part and gettina an error thatCAD Part - 24_tooth_cluster_gear.prt, A.1 could not be deleted/purged. There are objects associated to it through EPMBuildHistory link. Not sure where these assoications came from, what they are or why they're only on one part, but I'd like to get rid of them so I can delete the part and reuse the name. Thanks,Walter
Hi I am not able to access eLearning Library
Hi,We've been learning Creo this year and were able to design most of our first FTC robot before building it (hooray!) So, sorry for the newbie questions. After getting a lot of the basics down, we are redoing our CAD so we tweak our design using what we've learned. So we have a few sub-assemblies built that we are going to use to make the final assembly easier and quicker to put together. The problem is that we are trying to "save a mirror assembly" for a rack-and-pinion lift and we end up with a scrambled assembly with a bunch of warnings. We found some documentation here for Creo 3 that seems similar, but can't locate the Creo 2 docs for some reason:http://help.ptc.com/creo_hc/creo30_optm_hc/usascii/index.html#page/optm/options_modeler/asm_one_sub/To_Mirror_an_Assembly.htmlAny hints?Thank you!

Hi,During a delete segment operation on a technical sketch, Creo Parametric 3.0 M010 appears to hang and then (not responding) is appended to the title window, then after 15-20 seconds the segment is deleted and the application appears to go back to normal. I have hundreds of segments to delete from a grid on this sketch and several others in the future. I appear to not have any access to patches as I am using a Free Academic License?CPU/Memory usage doesnt appear to change much more than 5-8% during the operation, which points me towards an application issue?Any assistance would be appreciated? Screenshot attached.Thankyou
Hello , i have a commercial version of Creo on my laptop, if i down loaded student version so i can help out the students on the FRC team will effect my commercial version of creo
3D Printing for FIRST Teams – January 6th, 2015Many FIRST teams now have access to a 3D printer thanks to the generous donations of suppliers, but now what do you do with it? To get started, it’s probably a good idea to just tinker with it making something like a pencil cup to get a feel for how the printer works. But after that, how do you decide what makes sense to print for your robot? This document provides the CAD files that complement a FIRST Tech Challenge Blog Series that will be published in January and February 2015. There are eight posts in the series and the corresponding CAD files are grouped and zipped together in attachments to this document. In the blog series we’ll review a robot design (by FRC Team 1965) that has several components that were 3D printed. This robot was specifically built to test the capabilities of 3D printing techniques. We will then walk through the 3D printing workflow used. We will discuss guidelines for deciding which
Will there be a new mentor list and process flow document provided for this year's challenge? Or should we use the documents that were provided for last years challenge?
I really would like to use this CAD program with my daughter who is on a USFirst team. She has expressed a interest in doing the design drawing for the Robot team this year. The program took a 12 hrs to download with our slow internet .Followed the instructions to the letter and came up with this error see 37-38 . Then we tried to install on her laptop and got a little farther ,photo 34 got to the install page but only installed a few things required and both home computer and lap top running windows 8. Just not sure what is wrong with this .Thanks Lee Cole
We are on our second year of using Creo 2 and all of a sudden have a license issue and can no longer use Creo. The error message gives the path to the license file, then (-10) Feature has expired.below this it again lists the path then a table with 3 lines starting in CREODMA, CREO PMA, and CREOLA, an expire date of 05-jan-2015 with the text Student2 Locked to: and it gives an alpha numeric string.I have no idea what this all means.Does the student edition have an expiration date?Do I need to re-install.We recently installed Creo on 3 students computers - does this affect anything.Really appreciate any assistance as we are dead in the water on day 4 into the build season! Thanks in advance
Hi, I am currently at University and have the student edition of Creo Parametric 2.0.It came with a 1 year license for doing our assignments. This has now expired but I am still at university and need it for another assignment. How do I go about getting another or an extended license?Thank you.
this is the file i downloaded....MED-100WIN-CD-400_M010_Win64I extracted to the desktop. I disabled the firewall and A/V.
