When would the Mission Planning document be available?
Do all of the UAV options provided in the detailed background require a launch/catapult system? For example, we were considering using a Rotary Wing (Helicopter) and didn't think it required one to get it in the air.
Will there be CAD models for the cameras to put on our UAS?
Hi, I would like to link my excel file with my model built using top down approach. I would to use this excel file to change the parmeters of model and regenerate the model. I know there are tow methods by which i can do this, one by pro-gram and other is excel analysis. Need some help to understand both the methods. Thanks, Satish

We have found that the relationship between zoom and field of view is denoted by an arctangent function such as FoV=arctan(d/2f) where D is equal to image size (horizontal length in mm, for example) and F is the effective focal length. For sensor payloads with zooming capabilities (such as the X3000) is there a focal length correlating to the zoom factor that could be used in this equation, or is there another way to calculate field of view based off of the numbers given in the background guide?
Hello, I have recently downloaded PTC Creo 2.0 student version but I am getting the following issue during installation step.I have agreed to the term and conditions. I'm a mentor for FRC, and I have a new computer since I got a Creo Academic license. What do I need to do in order to transfer the old license to the new computer, or should I just apply for a completely new license? Both computers are mine and perfectly operable
Dear PTC community, I have a question about the training resouces that are available to students. I am on an FRC team and I am supposed to use PTC Windchill for eligibility to a grant that my team applied for. My mentor has already started the project, and I can access it from my PTC account.Lewis HicksCaptainFRC Team 1432

Hi guys,I may be reaching back to another release of Windchill, but shouldn't we be able to set the "Number" to the same thing as the "File Name" when doing a rename? Is that a Windchill preference? If so, can we set it for all team members, or does each team member have to change their own? Thanks,Josh

My company PTC sponsors the FIRST to inspire the Engineers of the Future. This is a competition for students to build a robot and compete in many categories. You can see previous games in my past posts here. My son loves robots and when I brought him in to the PTC Family Picnic he loved controlling the robots. Evan and Lauren were lucky enough to get a behind the scenes look at the teams practicing in the pits with having a Mom as a judge. As the judges we could award teams for Innovation of Design, Design aspects, Motivation, Connection with the community, Think - for their Engineering Notebook, and Inspire
Received this question from an FTC team that created their lift sub-assembly from all custom designed parts...When they tried to then include the lift onto the robot, it turned out that the lift is much-much bigger in size than the robot... so somewhere we messed up the dimensions/scales...What can we do now? Can we re-scale the lift? so we do not have to redraw every part?I how can I make sure that the dimension/units for the tetrix parts are the same than the ones I use for the custom parts? The image shows a tetrix flat bar next to the bottom of our lift...
Hello,I did a mass properties calculation with assigned material. When I was finished I removed the material assiged but the density under "Mass Properties" was still filled in. I need to remove all material data on my part before I can check it in do to company standards. However, I cannot enter the value 0 into the density dialog box.If anyone can help me with this problem I would be very grateful./Emma
This year's FRC KOP comes with (2) new items. Just in case anyone is looking for them, they are not in the PTC CAD KOP yet. Hi Folksjust tried doing the walkthrough for the Mould cavity and came up with this problem 'Cannot merge a packaged component. select again'. now the parts have been made up in a mould form ie. base (mould1A), part and top (mould2A) but it wont let me form the cavity. Now it must be something pretty obvious but I can't figure it out.can anyone please help?Jeremy

I am very new to Creo 2.0 and I am having trouble importing a drawing from Autocad that includes Blocks. When I import a .dxf into Creo all the blocks are individual lines. Is there a certain method that should be used when importing different formats from other drawing software, i.e. Solid Edge, Autocad, etc., into Creo 2.0 in order to maintain all the attributes as they were in the original software used to create the drawing?
Attached is a worksheet that should help teams build their shooters

If so, download these Creo View files to see where all the components go! Its much quicker to open the Creo View files and move them around to see what goes where in the long and wide chassis configurations. Want to do the same for your robot design? Just pick save as from the File tab and chose Creo View (PVZ) from the Type menu. If you remembered the "cool" stuff from Robotalk, you'll know you can email that PVZ to yourself and open it on your iPod, iPhone or iPad with the Creo View Mobile app so you can show your firends and family what you're team is working on. (sorry, still no Android app yet)Don't have Creo View? Hmm, must mean you're not using Windchill. Creo View is only available as a FREE download via Windchill
