PTCooler "OffTopic"

This week is an exciting week for PTC Chess enthusiasts!   PTC has formed four global chess teams to compete against other corporate teams including AutoDesk and Dassault in the online  WORLD CORPORATE CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP which is organized by FIDE (the International Chess Federation) and chess.com (a leading online chess platform) February 19-21.       This contest inspired the PTC Community Team to officially inaugurate @Dale_Rosema  the PTCooler King! He even has a new badge to honor all his consistent, great contributions to the PTCooler Lounge. Laughter is so important, and we all look forward to our Friday engineering joke from Dale. If you have a suggestion on how to make our "lounge" more exciting or a better connection place, please be sure to reach out to  Dale or a PTC Community Manager. Hello, PTC Community Friends,   I feel remiss that I have not taken the time to introduce you and give a shout out to the newest member of the PTC Community Management Team, @AndrewK    Besides helping out on the PTC Community, Andrew enjoys tabletop gaming with friends, camping with his family, and is currently attending college for a Software Development degree.           Andrew has been with us over a month and has already been making big impact in the arena of swapping out community banners, loading badges, troubleshooting issues related to Email Notification , and countless other escalated moderator requests.  Not too shabby for roughly only 6 weeks on the job!      We are so glad AndrewK has joined the team.   Feel free to reach out to any of us  @AndrewK  @Leigh @IgnacioFdB  or @Jaime_Lee if you need assistance outside of  the general "Community Feedback"  board or the  "Not

Blew into work this morning. The snow is amazing. Each snowflake is different just as each individual is created differently. While we have a lot in common, we can celebrate our differences endowed upon us.        Why was 11 arrested for a crime? They were the prime suspect.     What did the mathematician say when the witch removed his spell? Hexagon!

Enjoy the weekend. Get out. Look at the creation around you and admire.    

As the full moon was setting in the west this cold crisp morning I was contemplating the beauty of the world.     What shape do you always have to be careful of? A trap-azoid!     I don’t get the point of decimals. I’m more partial to fractions.    

Any poetry enthusiasts among us? I hope so! I decided to quote one of my favorite poets tonight 🙂   While I was reviewing Top Contributors for December, I was looking out my New England window at the tall pines armored by interlocking, white, deep frozen water molecules.  A thought came to me about how perfectly each snowflake (all unique and different) came together to make a beautiful shield for the branches of these fine trees against the cold. November just absolutely flew by!  It went almost as quickly as it seemed like the gorgeous leaves with all different hues began to dry up and krinkle into the frost outside my window.   Hence, the reason you are getting "October Top Engager Recognition" on Thanksgiving Eve (for those of you in the USA). Somewhere between taking the day off to help my town clerk with elections and rolling out the CAD Announcement post, this month simply just got away from me.  These October results were just sitting waiting for me to unlock their goodness!   In the spirit of the Thanksgiving holiday, I have decided to pass out turkey basters to our top October Community Engagers.  When I was  growing up in a bustling, busy household, one of my favorite Thanksgiving dinner preparation jobs was definitely basting the turkey. For those in the states, have a blessed Thanksgiving and enjoy some time with your family or out in creation. If you are not celebrating Thanksgiving this week, still take a moment to pause and look at all the things in your life that make you appreciative.   Instead of posting a funny, pun, riddle or story problem, I would like to encourage you to reply with something for which you are thankful. Giving thanks doesn't necessarily mean that you liked all the things that have happened (i.e. 2020), but in future years you will look back and see how things have shaped you.   I am thankful for my family, for a roof over my head, for the many blessing that I have. I am thankful for the shed blood of my Savior that paid for all my faults. I am thankful for snowflakes, for starry skies, for the details of insects, for DNA codes to discover. I am thankful for science and the rules, laws, and principle that are there to be revealed.   Have a great weekend and be blessed.  

Have a blessed weekend and start are the list of things that you are thankful for this year, in spite of the year.     One day, Einstein, Newton, and Pascal meet up and decide to play a game of "hide and seek". Einstein volunteered to go first. As he counted, Pascal ran away scrambling to find a great hiding place. Giddily, he squeezed into a crawl space sure that he would win this time as this was his best hiding spot to date and Newton surely wouldn't find an equal. Newton, on the other hand, stood right in front of Einstein, pulled out a piece of chalk, and drew a box on the ground of roughly 1x1 meters. Once this was completed, he sat down neatly inside the box and waited for Einstein to finish counting. When Einstein opened his eyes, he of course saw Newton and with a bit of disappointment said “I found you, Newton, you lose”... but Newton replied, “On the contrary, you are looking at one Newton over a square meter... Pascal loses!”
