Our editors rely on a handful of toolbar buttons that were removed in Arbortext 7. I have most of them replaced, but I still need to tweak one of them.I've been digging through the Arbortext 7 Customizing Guide trying to figure out how to create a new toolbar toggle button that restores the Document Map button that toggles between Document Map view and Normal view. I haven't found a solution yet and thought someone here might have done this already. I currently have a button that shows the Document Map view, but in order to duplicate the functionality of the button as it existed in Arbortext 5, it needs to toggle between Document Map and Normal views. Has anyone done that yet or know how to create such a button? Here's one of the custom toolbars I assembled with the Document Map button first in the set:<toolbar id="toolbar_Randy_Views" name="GC Views" x="50" y="25"><?Pub Dtl?><button command="ViewDocmap" id="Toolbar_Views_Randy"image="imageDocumen
Still rather new at this SGML stuff. I'm assuming this is a stylesheet issue, but don't know what to look for. Here's the problem:First, what works right: When I create an xref to a step1, the xref generated text shows, for example, "4.3 a".What doesn't work right: When I create an xref to a step2, the xref generated text *should* show, for example, "4.3 a (1)", but instead shows "4.3 (1)" (leaving out any reference to the intervening step1); if I xref step 4.3 b (1), it shows the exact same thing ("4.3 (1)"), which is clearly not helpful.A similar problem exists when xref'ing step3's and step4's: Instead of "4.3 a (1)(c)" I get "4.3 (c)" (leaving out any reference to the intervening step1 *and* step2); etc. We're currently at Arbortext 6.1 M30, but we had the same problem with Arbortext 5.3 (identical stylesheet). As I said, I assume this can be fixed in the stylesheet, but I need someone to point me in the right direction. Any guidance would be appre
Hi I am trying to create a glossary. I have created all the glossentries. (Which have (indexlist) in brackets in their names.) They will not attach onto the Glossary list. A No Entry sign comes up.What do I need to do?Thanks
Conrefs and hrefs (content references and links) that worked in a previously published representation do not work in the current representation published from WIndchill, the links are right in Arbortext - this seems to have popped up since the Publishing Engine was updated to 6.1 M070 from M030. The JPG file attached shows errors in red that is appearing where hrefs were used to point users to other related content. These links appeared as expected before the Publishing Engine was updated, and afterwards these errors are the result.Has anyone else seen this? Any ideas? I have escalated to PTC support as well, but thought I would mine the greater mind of the community as well.
We have a model name that has an Italicized letter in it. How do I get the keydef to support italics?ThanksBryon
I'm trying to get children of current node by using xpath in APP source edit mode! Can it be done in this way?
Hi, all. Sometimes I want to comment out my DITA code with XML comments (Insert > Comment.) But when it's time to uncomment it out without going to the untagged view, I'm stumped. What's the easy way to do this?ThxSteve
I'm adding an options file for our flexnet license server. In the options file I want to specify a TIMEOUT option for our print composer license. The line I added is "TIMEOUT 284 300." 284 is the print composer module and 300 is the number of seconds after which the license is reclaimed. When I restart the license server and check the log file it tells me that the print composer has had a TIMEOUT set for 1200 seconds. Any value less than 1200 results in the same outcome. Any value greater than 1200 results in the actual value being used. Is 1200 the minimum amount of time for a TIMEOUT? Is there anyway to override this minimum? Thanks,Rick

I was wondering if there are other ways to configure PE to publish multiple jobs from PDMlink other than setting up another PE server. I was wondering if there would be a way to do that with sub processes?Any help would be greatly appreciated! - Brian
There is a request to add c-size drawings to our manuals. I would like to know how to add it to my style sheet. This is what I have done so farIn styler:1. Make a copy of the existing stylesheet.2. I go to Page Type, I locate the the foldout (11 X 17) that we currently have defined and I copy all the types and rename them to foldout2.3. I then go to page set, locate the foldout page set, copy it and rename it foldout2 page set. In the page size I change the page size to C size. Under page types I change the page types to reference the new foldout2 page types.4. Keep the page region the same5. Click on the element foldout, copy and paste rename to foldout2. It states that this new element is not in my document type. I cannot figure out where this is. Is this my servicemanual.dtd? I have searched the file for the word foldout but it is not in there. I read through the adding new elements to your stylesheet article in the help, but it does not cover the error message a20377.ThanksBry
I have opened a document from ACM that includes several bursted objects or fragments. Is there a way to edit those fragments as XML?Thank you,Lisa
Hello Guys!So I'm working on the creation of an XUI dialog in Arbortext Editor, what I would like to know is if there's a way to avoid to create the dialog twice. The way how I create the dialog is creating a new option in the menus bar and from there I call the script to create the window. I have another window and I'm using a global variable to store its ID so I can validate if the window is active or don't, however I think I can improve that method.Any ideas? In advance I appreciate so much your time!Paulette
If you're in the San Francisco Bay Area (or within a short flight), TC Camp is coming up in 23 January 2016.If you haven't been to an unconference, you should know these aren't like regular conferences. There are no juried presentations. No powerpoint. No waiting through the next session so you can attend the one you're really interested in.You know how it is at a regular conference, the best conversations happen in the hallways. Well, TC Camp is all hallway.Session topics are chosen by you! They're chosen by the attendees on the day of the event. Attendees vote on the session topics. Topics with enough votes get scheduled into the agenda. Because you vote on the session topics, you're guaranteed to find sessions you're interested in! This is one conference where everything is relevant to Y-O-U. And at the end of the day, in the summary session you can hear about what everyone else learned in all the other sessions.Because this is not an Arbortext conference specifically, there's absol

I got a new computer and loaded Isodraw onto it. How do I go about transferring all of my preferences files (pens, libraries, etc) from my old computer to the new computer?
Does someone have an ACL script that can replace all text in a document with "xxxxxxxx" or make them otherwise unreadable so we can sanitize our production documents before sending them to PTC Support?
We go to XML publishing for a lot of reasons. One of which is to achieve reusability of our information: Write it Once, Use it Anywhere. Often, beginning stylesheet developers will do a lot of repeated style coding to achieve desired output results. This style duplication, like information duplication, makes stylesheets difficult to maintain. Styler makes it easy to avoid this costly maintenance mistake by adding property sets and user formatting elements to your styling toolbox. In this session, we'll talk about how to use property sets to make your styling more uniform and easy to maintain. This session is accessible to Beginners just getting started with Styler StylesheetsView the RecordingThe video is now available for viewing: Watch this episode of Arbortext TC Dojo Online on our Vimeo On Demand ChannelTC Dojo Mastermind group members can watch it for free on the forums.About The TC DojoThe TC Dojo is brought to you by Single-Sourcing Solutions. During the PTC webinar yesterday for whats New in Creo Illustrate 3.1. Someone asked a question and the presenter refer to an overlay in isodraw. Can someone tell me what this featrure is?ThanksBryon.
In this webinar, we demonstrate the DITA feature keyrefs and conkeyrefs in Arbortext. The keyref and conkeyref mechanisms allow you to easily switch variable content. We will demonstrate how to create keys and key references; how to combine keys with maps for easier manageability; and how to use conkey references instead of conref to simplify reuse and manage your content. This session is intended for Intermediate users of DITA and Arbortext.View the RecordingThe video is now available for viewing: Watch this episode of Arbortext TC Dojo Online on our Vimeo On Demand ChannelTC Dojo Mastermind group members can watch it for free on the forums.About The TC DojoThe TC Dojo is brought to you by Single-Sourcing Solutions. Out scenario is this: We're using the IsoView plugin for Internet Explorer to view .cgm files. This has worked on out terminal servers running Windows 2008 Server R2 and Internet Explorer 9. Recently, when upgrading to Internet Explorer 11, some of the users (but not all) are reporting that they can't view .cgm files anymore. They only get that little black box with a cross in it, which indicates that the plugin is not working (the plugin I'm referering to is the one below named WebCGM....it doesn't show up under Manage Addons in Internet Explorer for the affected users). The install media we used was IsoView73.exe (file version 7.3.30.15) and it was a prereq to CreoView32(with file version 10.2.20.23), We have attempted to re-install IsoView73, both in modify and in repair mode. It didn't make any difference. I have a test user account that the plugin is working for, but with this account I can't replicate the problem. All tips are welcome. O
In IsoDraw 7.3, I create an illustration as I want it, then save it...when I re-open it, all the sizing and line weights have changed. How do I fix this?@
I am using DITA in Arbortext Editor version 6.1, datecode M020.What do I need to do to make revision bars show up when I generate a pdf of a book?I went to the help menu, and it says to open Modify Attributes and to choose an option from the revisionflag field. The options are supposed to be "added", "changed", "deleted", and"off".There is no revisionflag field. There is a rev field under the Other tab, but it does not have dropdown options. But I tried "changed" inside a step element. No go. Does not work. No change bar showed up in the pdf.Not only that, but it would be an understatement to say that having to do this manually for every change I make to a book would be a ridiculous increase in workload. Isn't there some way to have this done automatically?
