Refer to CASE 11850699.We have a software security vulnerability with JAVA. We are running 6.0 M080. Since we cannot use the environment variable JAVA_HOME to redirect Arbortext to use the current version of JAVA, we will have to upgrade. Is there a way to update the HELP feature to use the current version of JAVA? Can the software be modified in the future to use the JAVA_HOME to use the latest version of JAVA?
Hi everybody!I've one more doubt... I put in my document a 'change bar', but I can't change it's height. Actually, I've to decrease the height of the change bar, because there's a little space above the modified text. Someone can help me?
I am a new user of 38784. How do I get more than an 8.5X11 area of a schematic (foldout pages) to appear correctly?
Hi everybody!Anyone knows how to modify the font size of the element using any its attribute?Example:In my DTD, I've this element:<!ELEMENT para EMPTY> <!ATTLIST para font-size NUMBER #IMPLIED >How to use this attribute 'font-size' to set the font size? This appear a easy case, but I haven't seen this function in Arbortext.
Liz, I think Kathleen has a point. Is there another place to sign up other thanFacebook? Lynn
Dear Arbortext users,I constructed a form in the arbortext editor and I need to do a validation in a field. The only one caractere the user may type is "X" or leave empty. How can I do this validation?
Ok, I'm using 5.3 and I've created some S1000D PDF output and I've noticed that the tables ignore the column settings. Instead of getting columns of variable width I get columns of equal width. I have clearly set the columns as follows<table colsep="1" frame="all" rowsep="1"><title>Something</title><tgroup cols="7" tgstyle="1"><colspeccolwidth="2.00pi"/><colspec colwidth="7.50pi"/><colspec colwidth="3.00pi"/><colspeccolwidth="2.00pi"/><colspec colwidth="10.00pi"/><colspec colwidth="7.00pi"/><colspeccolwidth="3.00pi"/>However in the output the columns are equally divided between 38 pi, which is chaos. I have content running across cell borders etc.How can I force the output to use the column widths I've entered?
Do you need to export this file for every iteration of stylesheet? We have four stylesheets that are basically identical except for the cover page. That the stylesheet publishes.ThanksBryon
Hi there, lately I've seen a tag in round brackets "pi MENTORPATH" for the first time. Does anyone know what it means? Thanks a lot for any help and enjoy the rest of the day!
I dreamed up some fancy FOSI footwork awhile back that seemed like it might be useful, but I have never had occasion to use it in a production FOSI. I am wondering if it is worth including in my book. It is detailed below. Whaddya think? Thanks!Suzanne Napoleonwww.FOSIexpert.com"WYSIWYG is last-century technology!"In the example below, the fancy FOSI footwork is not required --plain vanilla FOSI coding works fine, and the fancy footwork code is half again as long as the vanilla code. However, maybe the fancy FOSI footwork could be useful in certain complex situations that would be easier with a "case" approach. The fancy footwork code uses different increment values with the enumerat category to create unique bitmap index numbers that represent the presence of required and optional elements. The example is in SGML so the ampersand (&) connector can be utilized. The ampersand connector means all of the elements in the content model must occur, but they may occur in any order. In this pa

User has checked out a document from Windchill and opened it in Arbortext Editor 6. The user has made revisions and now wants to "save" the file. The user gets the following message:Cannot find path specifiedError: [A11972]She is also unable to check the file back into Windchill as the system doesn't recognize her changes.Could this have something to do with the user's cache folders or temp folders? If not, what are the other possibilities?
We are currently running Arbortext 5.4 and I am wondering if it is possible to stay there without to many problems when running PDMLink 10.2?Thanks in advance!Brian
Just received an email via LinkedIn from Tom Kenslea of PTC . The LinkedIn post contained a link to this PTC video about Arbortext. It's mostly propaganda, as you could guess. It seems to focus on Arbortext as one link in a chain of PTC-provided products to produce a myriad of products containing PTC goodness. I'm not sure if it says anything valuable to me about Arbortext as stand-alone authoring/publishing software, which is how we use it. Maybe some of you might find this interesting.
Ed, Unless the Air Force has changed the 38784 DTD since the hid it behind afirewall, what I see for the attribute 'pgwide' is it is used only on theelements <figtable> (not used in the Army) and <table>. In the Army DTD,this attribute has been removed. Caroline, If you have a new attribute added to your DTD this is the format you'llneed. pgwide (0 | 1) #IMPLIED This is the attribute name, a choice of '0' or '1' where the zero is notpage wide and the '1' is page wide. You will also need to add functionality to the stylesheet to read theattribute and make the appropriate formatting change(s) to the output. Lynn
Hi all,I'm working on a 5.4 stylesheet that has default two-column figures but some are page wide. The captions on the page wides are still using two-columns. Is there a way to detect if the figure is page wide without having to check for an attribute, which at this time isn't being used? I wanted to see if I could do this solely in the style sheet without having to ask production to add an attribute indicating a page wide graphic. Thanks!
Same exact content. Stylesheet updated in change from m010 to m090 butnothing (that I remember) graphics related. The graphics are .png. Usingthe standard, as shipped pdfcf. One chapter has three graphics. One prints the same. Two expand off thepage. The graphics *are* different sizes, but I can't figure out what keptthem from expanding off the page in m010.Does anyone remember something getting "fixed" or a default setting changedor ....Off to dig into release notes and such but hoping the hive is smarter andquicker than I!-- Paul Nagai
I'm trying to open up a normal enough XML file in Arbortext but am getting this error:"[A31437] Could not open 'Mydoc.xml' as an XML document. Do you want to open it as an ASCII file?"The document is a simple enough, UTF-8, well-formed XML document that is validating against it's DTD. Really puzzled on this one. Any ideas?
Hi Everybody!I need to put a graphic (image) on the my table's entry background. Can I do it using the styler?
I'm looking into getting Arbortext Content Manager. I've reviewed all the literature, but have more questions, such as: Is this a simple software install on a web server? What kind of support would our IT department need to provide? (The Editor is the only PTC product we use---no Windchill experience)Anyone know approximate price tag?
I've created a book in Editor and when I publish to PDF the graphics are there, when I publish to Web the grpahics do not appear in html. Any ideas on what the problem could be?The graphics are jpegs that have been altered in Illustrator to include text and shapes on top of the photo. Then exported as jpeg again.
Hello everybody,I have faced frequently the following error message on my Arbortext Editor:I have read the posted discussions and tried some interim solutions such as:- Increased the virtual memory size ;- Updated the Arbortext version to v 6.0 M090Even though the error persists.Any other ideas what is going on?Thanks,Rogério Rodrigues (plisk)
and since they're not on-screen, they won't appear in print preview either. Everything else works fine - valid SGML no errors.I have graphic tags and sheet tags, and they have attributes filled in. Graphic entities are defined and the pictures themselves are located in the proper directory. ACL switch graphicdisplay is ON.But I can't get the graphics to appear on the screen. I can't get the Insert Graphic File dialog box to appear. If I try to add a new graphic or sheet tag, it tells me graphics are not allowed by the DTD. That's preposterous - I'm right next to an existing graphics tag. There are 160 other graphics spread throughout the file. There has to be some small switch or something? Can someone shed some light on this? FOSI displays everything else correctly on screen (generated text, indentions) how could it do all that and just NOT DISPLAY GRAPHICS?Arbortext 5.2 / Windows 7 / CMM doctype (ATA industry standard)JH
