Hello everyone, I would like to create a Procurement BOM using the BOM transformer tool. My goal is to create a single component list (flat BOM) from my EBOM and also being able to catch all the revision changes, part quantities variation and new parts added or parts removed.Here is the best way to do it that I have found:- In BOM transformer, select EBOM to assy level and choose New downstream branch, Do not duplicate, manufacturing BOM, Costing- Copy/paste or drag and drop parts at the level needed (ex: welded assy level without subcomponent, single parts, non standard assemblies etc)- Check in the procurement BOMTo see changes:- In BOM transformer, verify downstream & upstream status to see if there is any changes on the revisions- Click on detect discrepancies button to verify quantities and parts added or removed- Click on propagate changes to downstream to apply modifications on the procurement BOM.This procedure works but I am not sure it is optimal.For example, drag and dro

Internally, we have a document where we collect steel requirements of product parts and long-lead items of purchasing parts. This document serves as input for procurement to reserve materials at suppliers.  This document is now filled manually. We are looking for best practices how to support this process with Windchill. Hi all. I am trying to get the display value for attributes in windchill which are not of type "String". I am using PersistableAdapter to load the attribute value with the internal name but that is not user friendly for display. I have attached an example of values I get from Modified by attribute

I am using Windchill Aerospace & Defense Release 11.1 and Datecode with CPS M020-CPS17I am looking for the best way to update CAD Documents that originated from a STEP (ISO 10303) file. I have an new delivery in STEP format. 95% of the objects that will be created on import are common.

Does anybody know the API to perform a multi-level CAD build from a WTPart structure, there is a  knowledge base article suggesting that the API is not documented and not supported.If anyone has any other suggestions it would be interesting to hear them, I have a WTPart Structure with children all having CAD document associations and I want to perform a CAD document build from it. Thanks

I want to upload that document to the attachments section of change notice or change activity depending on where that action was triggered from. Is there an API to upload the generated report directly to this section? Thanks.

Hi,We have a customer who is about to implement SAP S/4Hana  ( replacing Priority ). Currently we facilitate windchill ESI capabilities to transfer item creation + bom structure + ECO’s information (added/removed items from bom ) to ERP.The integration is uni-directional only.No info is pushed back from ERP to PLM. Customer would like to have the same capabilities with new ERP system ( SAP ).i have seen two OOTB option for interface:- https://www.innoface.de/en/ifconnex-for-sap- http://gainformatics.com/esi.htm   Does any of you have any experience with the mentioned products ?Does any of you developed an interface own it's onw ( SAP side ) ? Many thanks for your corporation,

I have a piece of code I would like to have triggered in a background process programmatically once an action is clicked. Can it be done without a configuration change? Else what would be the best way to achieve this?  I also need to check if I can programmatically validate if my action is in the queue.

I am trying to retrieve display name for an attribute in WTPart or WTDocument. I can retrieve attribute values using the internal name of the attribute but would like to also get the display name using same process. Is there an API for this?

We have the need to share the output of an ECN with a contract manufacturer. Has anyone already found a good solution for creating a Change Package to share with a CM?    Document changes are easy to deal with, but CAD is more complicated since there is no download action from the Resulting Objects table for an ECN task. Windchill provides the options to add them to a Workspace or Copy them to the Clipboard.    I have tried Windchill Packages, which works really well if you collect the ECN Tasks and Resulting objects, but it also includes all the source CAD files. I would rather only share STEP for CAD models, PDF for CAD drawings and Creo View files.   Windchill Packages seems like a viable solution, but we definitely need a way to automate the creation of the package with the desired items as part of the ECN workflow. Adding this as a manual step for every ECN would significantly increase the workload of the configuration management team. 

I'm making a call to ParseAndProcessResult and getting a NullPointerException. It seems to be a problem with the variable response in the following code. Does anyone have an example of what response should be? Prior to a CPS update we had something in place that would not allow a person to hit submit now on a problem report unless an end item was in the affected end item section.  We are now on 12.0.1.5 and this disappeared.  The consultant that put this in place has left and did not document how he did this.  Has anyone done this before?  He have an alternate solution but it is not as nice as the original.

Hi,we have a problem with the edit filter in both the workspace and Structure tab. When we select any CAD Document and click Edit Filter there is an error: " Filters are not applicable for selected objects".What is wrong with it? Last week it works perfectly but for some reason, we can't edit filter anymore.

In Windchill there should exists cascading attribute rule support for the Change Task object type.  As of Windchill 12.0, the Cascading Attributes tab is available only on the following types:• Part, Document, Change Notice, Change Request, Problem Report, Promotion Request and Variance, and their subtypes.• QMS object types such as CAPA Request, Nonconformance, Customer Experience, CAPA Investigation, Nonconformance Investigation and customer Experience Product Investigation.• Types unique to PTC Windchill FlexPLM.Cascading Attributes Tab Support  i.e.  No Cascading Attributes tab with Change Task@JeffZemsky @asalunke

One team I support has created a configurable product structure with multiple level migrated from ERP variant configurator. The surprise for them has shown up at the time or doing variant updates via reconfigure (a lower level configurable module components have changed). On reconfigure the system determines there is input match but the structure has changed (no-matching-variant), and it offers to update the variant. However, it only updates/iterates the level at which you configure, AND creates NEW intermediate variants in the path up from where the change happened (instead of iterating them or offer level by level updates). I see that there was a case open (Article - CS213714) but it seems it has been dropped by R^D after some time.... Has anybody found a workaround or alternative way to achieve interation/updates on all levels instead of creation of new variants? Or enven some approach to organize these types of models in a diffferent (more robust manner to limit variant p
