I have an IBA attribute where we use a "legal value list". This list must be changed once and a while. It would be great this list by code. Is it possible to change or edit the list by api and java?   Thanks in advance

Hello all We would like to have a team of designers for new products and another one for modifications of those products once they are mature. Change Management responsibilities would also be different. I see 2 possibilities: One context, everybody has access to everything Pro: easy to configure Con: everybody has access to areas they should not Con: Change Management tasks sent to everybody and they have to decide if they have to act or not Two contexts. Move mature objects from one context to the other Pro: correct permission to modify Pro: correct Change Management roles Con: manual work to move thing from one context to the other What do you think?

Using Windchill 10.0 and Creo Elements/wf5.Would like to keep revision history in drawings which would include letter/number followed by a brief description of change. Current models have a parameter for REV and REV_DESCRIPTION. Looking for what others are doing and what is consensus on best practice/prodedure for having rev table in drawing automatically update with new rev and description and also keep previous rev and descriptions?Thanks.

Hi, I created custom entity, with custom attribute: Now I can retrieve the attribute by $select.   The issue is, I cannot get selected attribute from object 'Revisions', e.g.:   "/CADDocumentMgmt/LWECADDocuments?$expand=Revisions($select=DESCRIPTIONLONG)"   How can I change the inherited navigation property type? I tried to add "versioned" in "inherits" but without any results.

Does anyone know if it is possible to include vaulting rules in a library or product template?  Right now we apply vaulting rules via loadfile when a container is created but we are increasing automation efforts.

We've been trying to manage our Creo Start/Setup Files (Creo Templates, Formats, Materials, Notes, Symbols, etc.) in Windchill...   Benefits to using Windchill: Windchill provides lower latency versus using network drives when trying to access Creo start/setup files from multiple countries (with Windchill replication servers). Windchill provides a history of the files with check in comments. Headaches to using Windchill (over a network drive) If users don't name the Windchill server exactly (case sensitive) as setup in the config.pro, none of the setup files are available. Example: start_model_dir wtpub://PDMLink... Is there a way around this? We've create a Creo mapkey to add the Windchill server but users don't always use that. Adding/Editing files must be done through a Creo Workspace>Import and creates a Windchill Type = 'Other' CAD Document. Creo must have the allow_import_file_extension txt,tbl,mat,mtl,sym set to allow importing the various Creo setup files. Sinc

Hello Everyone,   when creating a new change notice, the system automatically inserts the default change task in the implementation plan. That's fine so far.   However, the description of the default change task is automatically filled with the description of the change notice. That doesn't make sense in our way of working.   How can I disable the propagation of the change notice description to the change task description?   Thanks in advance.   Best Chris

While calculating the FTA results the software program is multiplying 10^-6 to the cut set events for model FR/MTBF but not for constant probability. How to prevent this 10^-6 adding upto the final value? can anyone help me with this?

My DXF's that are created when checking in assemblies are not "clean". They have bend lines/hatch lines. I need these to come across as No Hidden Lines Type. Is there a way to change this setting?

In the AML/AVL table (in the WTPart object) I can't see the export to excel/pdf action, like it is in the another tables (e.g. AML/AVL Changes). Is it possible to export this table using OOTB capabilities?

Trying out Windchill Desktop Integration (WDI) for the first time using Windchill 11.0 M030. Am I doing something wrong?   Thoughts: I cannot get WDI to show up on the left side of Windows File Explorer like OneDrive or other similar apps. Is there a way to get it to show by default? WDI very hidden otherwise. See attached image. WDI doesn't not show up as an app anywhere in Windows 10 - it's like a hidden install. Searching for Windchill returns no application in Windows. Dragging files in create new documents seems to work well - sub types and require attributes show up (unlike Drop and Drag Windchill in a browser). I'm limited to Promotion Requests or Set State for promoting - no Change Notice or other Windchill change types? Promotion Requests can only be created from 1 document at a time using WDI? I'm running into two fairly significant problems with Windchill and I could really use some help. Additional files generated during publishing do not always agree with the corresponding models (at the same revision.) Users outside of engineering are unable to view all of the models in an assembly in Creo View. Both of these situations are being caused by the publisher using the 'As Stored' config spec when the 'As Stored' version of the model is not the same as the 'As Released' version.  For example:   Drawing or Assembly A.1 - In Work A.2 - Released   Model A.1 - In Work A.2 - In Work ('As Stored' when drawing version A.2 was created.) A.3 - Released   A.2 of the drawing/assembly and A.3 of the model are both released together, but when published the older, unreleased version of the model is being used.  For drawings this could mean the wrong geometry is displayed.  For assemblies it means that users outside of engineering can't eve

I am fairly new to PTC and do not seem to be able to find this information anywhere.    We are thinking of installing the latest Dynatrace v7 to monitor Windchill and Thinworx environments to monitor and troubleshoot performance issues. What I am struggling to learn if we need to purchase separate licences for each FastPack or are they included? We also have Windchill and Thingworx installed both in production and pre-production on separate LANs so was wondering if we need a separate licence for each LAN?I was also curious if this can monitor non PTC products? (i.e. 2016 servers for basic compute issues)  

Hi   Hope someone can assist.   Our customer is making use of the Import function to change attribute values of existing WTParts.   They did a spreadsheet import which contains 43047 parts. The whole validation/import took about 54 hours to complete.   They would like to know if there is anything that they can do to speed up this process since this is a very long time for them to not be able to work/downtime?   I cannot find anything on eSupport... or I am just not using the correct keywords and that is perhaps why I am not getting a solution?   Thank you in advance.

Hi All,   We are migrating WTDocument without using WBM to Windchill 11 system.   We have now added some extra attributes (soft attributes) to the WTDocument and then we are trying to migrate the same WTDocument once again. Can anyone suggest me like how would I be migrating it ?    Is it using LoadFromFIle or should I be developing a utility for the same. If yes can anyone share me some code snippet for the same. We are having a discussion about named users and how many licenses we need for each person. We have 3 Windchill systems for different criteria. All running Windchill 11.0 m030 and various CPSs. As we plan for the next upgrade to WIndchill12.0 with Creo 7, and Windchill 12.0  seems to be not allowed directly from 11.0, so we will drop back and go to 11.2 first, then Creo 7, then WIndchill12.0.   Is a named user per Windchill system or just a named person within a company? A single person cannot be using multiple systems at the same time, so 1 license would be in use, no matter which Windchill system the user was logged in to. If I need 3 Windchill licenses for my user accounts on 3 systems, that is a big expense. If I only need 1 license, that is a more bearable expense.   I have seen the licensing HUB webpage and it still leaves me confused. Does someone have a definitive answer to how many licenses I will need for 1 user on 3 separate Windchill systems?

Dear Everyone,   Hope you are good I applied Pre Operation Hook for PRE_CHECKIN event and build the example java file UwgmC11nEventListenerTest and class file created in <WT_HOME>/codebase\com\ptc\windchill\uwgm\proesrv\c11n location.   But there's no log recorded in method server where checked in the WTPart or EPMDocument.   Can you help to validate the listener service.   Thanks in advance.
