Windchill

Hi,I'm sure that there are a lot of people using Creo Parametrics spec driven Piping and at the sametime using Windchill. My question is, can you integrate the spec-driven piping (master catalog directory) into the Windchill? If not, what is the right way to do it? The usual way, I think, is to keep the master catalog file directory in your local drive. But then there is the problem of multiple people using/updating the master catalog and thus having the risk of having multiple different versions of Mcat in use. I guess one solution would be to use a shared network drive, so that all the people who are using spec-driven piping would have automatically same files available. But it would be nice if the whole thing could work through Windchill.And one extra question: Is there any risk using spec-driven piping with Windchill regarding part versioning/duplicates. If I use piping and add multitude of similar valves, for example, and then upload the assembly containing those to the Windchill

HelloI'm new on Windchill so the question to come will probably be easy to answer.I want to create a small report that shows the link between all my users and the associated groups they belong to (at site level) - what I can see in Principal Administrator but for all users in one report.Since I couldn't find any standard report or other functionality to do that, I wanted to design my own one with report manager.I could find the user (WTuser) data, the group( WTgroup) data but I can't find the link between them.Can one of you help me to define the object I need to show these links ?Thank you !!!RegardsBenoit

Hello,   is it possible to use the query builder to query all CAD objects that have a link to a Part and give me the part number and the association type (Owner/Image/Content). Best would be if I get the CAD objects that have no link to a part additionally.   Thank you.

I would like to implement a test report system using Windchill, if it seems reasonably.   Basically, if we have a prototype or test scenario where a part is damaged or not working as we would like, we would like to save this as a failure report. I will give a specific example:   We produce a simple electronic device, a computer mouse, and one of the buttons fails to work as desired on one of the 100 identical prototypes we produce. We have a failure report template but would like to have all the failure reports for a prototype organised. We will have multiple identical prototypes but with some failing certain tests and we need to take a log of all the problems with said mouse.   What is the best way to go about this? Is there a good document or tutorial on the best means?   Thank you in advance

What am I doing wrong with my quantity totals in Multilevel Reports?   For example, I have an assembly 400.asm. Within it are (4) 300.asm's, that each have (6) screws 100.prt and (1) plate 101.prt.   So the multilevel report should show (1) 400.asm, (4) 300.asm's that consist of (6) 100.prt's and (1) 101.prt's.   Instead the report shows (1) 400.asm, (4) 300.asm's, (24) 100.prt's, and (4) 101.prt's.  This will result in a magnitude increase in parts required. Specifying the (4) 300.asm's will naturally bring along (24) 100.prt's and (4) 101.prt's.   How do I get the multilevel to stop multiplying the items wty required by their owner's qty required?   TIA

When the upgrade manager runs, does it actually do anything to the physical vaults on disk? I know there are some pointer updates in the Oracle database that get touched by the upgrade and that is fine.   My reason for asking is that I have run a WC11 upgrade on these same vaults. Deleted WC11 and the Oracle DB from the first run and am doing a second run and am ready to run upgrademanager when I remembered that these vault folders have been through an upgrademanager routine before.   I do have a copy of the vaults as they came off the production system, but I do not think I saved an extra copy from the WC10 rehost system. Again, talking only the physical disk vault files. I have compared the file size and it has not changed from the original copy from production.

I have a workflow that has 4 optional routes and the user can choose any combination of routes, at the end I have an AND connector because I need it to wait for all routs that were selected to finish but the AND connector is waiting for all 4 routes to finish and in most of the cases only 2 or 3 routes will be chosen.   PTC tech support has not been much help so I am looking to the community.   I attached a word doc to help better explain my needs.   Thank you,

Just wondering if anyone has run into this particular issue with Pro-Intralink 11 or Windchill 11. The test option to run without changes completes successfully.  I am using the Oracle that comes with Pro-Intralink 11. Hi all. I have at WTpart structure. In Windchill I now want to rename all members of a WTpart assembly. I go to the structure of the WTpart assembly and was hoping to be able to collect the WTparts below. And rename using naming patterns. But I don't get to collect the WTparts below at all. If I chose save as instead of rename I can collect and rename all using naming patterns. I have looked into Preferences, but I cannot see what is wrong? Best Regards Gunnar

Hi The library contains a blank template or standard template, except for the data that comes in the product.So how do I register each file in the library?The files I want to register are fonts and template, symbols.Each extension displays such as .prt.1 or .tbl.1.CREO does not recognize when registering through the creation of new documents.How do I post?

New install of WC 11 m030 and when I go to login as wcadmin, I get a user not found error. wt.util.WTRuntimeException: (wt.session.sessionResource/2) wt.org.UserNotFoundException: User not found: unknown web name: "wcadmin".   Anyone have any idea what is going on with this?

I am trying to get a successful rehost or Windchill/PDMLink 10.0 m040 to another set of identical computers for a trial upgrade to Windchill 11.0 m030. I am uisng the Rehost Utility 3.0 m010. After a lot of work and retries, I have finally been able to get Windchill to start, but not without issues. Let me start by giving a quick over view of my rehost process. Install Oracle 11g on the test server, run PTC Setup to build the DB Install Windchill on its test server OOTB Windchill 10.0 m040 runs fine. I have installed the same modules as on the production serevr, so a Windchill Version report looks idnetical with the exception that I did not install the WinDU/WinRU patches on the test server Export the Oracle and WindchillDS databases Copy the vaults using RoboCopy Copy the cachevaults Copy the database dumps to the new servers Copy the db/sql folder over to the new Oracle server In WindchillDS, create a new base Dn for my company organization Import the LDIF file into WindchillDS Put t

Hi windchill has default vault, in my case path is "D:\ptc\Windchill_10.2_M030\Windchill\vaults\defaultuploadrootfolder"   and i create new master and folder.that path is C:\root_master_folder   after that i create new storage rulestorage rule was file that Domain is 'demo org' and type is 'EPMDocument' and status 'all' file go to new vault   but it look like there is no differencecause default vault and created vault size same   Configure vault to speed up windchill by reducing the size of the BLOB in the databaseIs not it?What is the purpose of using vault?  

Hi All,   I am trying to understand how WFTally works. Kindly let me know or provide some link which has explanation apart from help center.   Ex: If a Problem report or a change request is assigned to three users (user1, user2, user3) and if user 1 "Approves" the request, user 2 "Declines" the request and if user 3 "Reassigns" or "Performs any other task apart from Approval and Declining" which operation will be performed in the system. Good Morning,This is an interesting issue I'm having with hyperlinks. Windchill is misreading a symbol and so its pasting an errant address into the URL.#ptc1/...But when a small group of users click the link they get an error be cause that same link reads in the URL as:http://.../ptc1/...If I go back into the URL and fix the text the link works fine. Go back and edit the link, the link is correct. Somewhere in the reading of the link there is a translation going on.Has anyone else seen this? It doesnt happen to all users. The last user i encountered was running IE10.MSOffice 2007WindchillAdministrator
