Windchill

I am using some code in the confirmed transition for the Analyze Problem Report workflow task to auto-create the change request. It works and even links the new change request to the problem report. But it does not propagate the info from the problem report. Does anyone know how to do it?   I tried setting the preference Change Information Propagation to Selected but it appears to only work in the UI. I want to do the same thing with the code that checking the box does in the UI.

Hi all! Does anyone have the idea why a cad MCAD publisher (server controlled -proeworker.bat) fails to publish some drawings when generating thumbnails or some of the sheets? In 90% of failed jobs, it's the thumbnail that fails. I've literally tried every possible solution there is in PTC Support site: - Installed Adobe Reader on each publishing server (which are separated from Windchill servers) - Fixed Adobe Reader Protected View - Checked which version of Adobe Reader is supported for Creo View Adapters 3.1 F000 - Set the worker daemon to run in interactive mode (it was running previously as a Windows service) - Setup larger timeouts (e.g. 7200 seconds in WVS.properties and in recipe files on publisher machines) - Reinstalled Creo View Acrobat plugin - Setting the "thumbnail.generator.extents" property to false - Setup a pvsthumb worker (also in server controlled publishing mode) on the publisher machines, even though I read that Creo View Adapter is not using pvsthumb worker for p

Hello all,   I need to have a list report with a document subtype, which will include fro each document the date that changed a state in its lifecycle. For example: Doc Name | Creator | Under Review (Date) | In Progress (Date) | Completed (Date) |   Can i get this info from the subtype table or do i need to make a join as well?   Thank you in advance Regards John

Here is the situation: A user, Bob, creates a Change Request (and thus is the Change Request Author). The CR is approved and a CN is created. The CN Implementation Plan has a Change Activity that needs to be assigned to the Change Request Author, Bob in this case. How can I get the Change Request Author to automatically be the assignee for this Change Activity?   I know that I need a new CA soft type. (Currently I use soft types of Change Activities combined with Product Context Team Roles to automatically assign users or groups to Change Activities based on the Context of the change. But in this case, the Change Request Author is not based on the Context Team and could be anyone in the system with permission to create a CR in any context.) I thought I had everything set up correctly to assign to the Change Request Author, but every time I test it I get an "unresolved role" error from Windchill.   I feel like I am missing something minor in how roles are establ

We have some files that we want to restrict the viewing of the file itself to a group of users, but allow the folder entry, document title, to be seen by all. Is this possible with ACL rights on the folder or do I need to go one step further into Security Labels on the fodler contents?  

Hi,It is possible to transfer data in windchill to a new server? For example the server update a hardware and OS. I have exported LDAP and Backup.How/What are the steps to have transfer the all data in the old server into the new server?.Thanks!Luar

Hello Guys,I have a requirement where I want to export a long list assemblies from windchill to local computer.Steps I follow,- Search for assembly number,- Add to workspace,- Export from workspace to local drive,As you can see, this way is not feisable for a list of assemblies.So, i want to export the whole set of data (CAD files) from Windchill at once.Is this possible?If I understand right, we cannot get the dump from Windchill server as the files are encrypted (Not sure).Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.Thanks in advance!Rajesh Jaganatha

Hello! We would like some help with our plans to upgrade our Windchill 10.2 M010 to 11.  This is our first upgrade so we'd truly be thankful for any insight that anyone can provide to us. Our existing Windchill 10.2 M010 server is running Windows 2012 w/ SQL 2012 (as a VM on Hyper-V). Our goals include:   Create pilot server so that we can test out Windchill 11 before going live. The pilot server ideally would be running Windows 2012 R2 or Windows 2016. The pilot server would be running SQL 2014 or SQL 2016 (whatever version which has bundled licensing with Windchill). The pilot server would use the existing Windchill license (re-licensed for a new MAC) while the existing Windchill 10.2 server uses the original license.  The goal is to have a temporary server to test the Windchill 11 server not a permanent testing platform. At the point that the testing has been completed the pilot server would be refreshed with the current data from the Windchill 10.2 product

Windchill PDMLink 11. M020 This is only a problem with Internet Explorere. View works fine in Chrome.   I checked Article - CS218340. All as expected. Any idea what it could be?  

We currently run Creo 3 (M070) with Windchill, and Solidworks 2014 through 2017 with the WGM (10.2 M030-CPS22).   We've run into a couple of different issues, which seems to be addressed with purging of the WGM cache.  Occasionally, workspaces appear as inactive and will not activate, or when switching in between Solidworks applications, the registration fails.  In both cases, purging of the cache seems to address the issues.  Unfortunately, this occurs with such frequency for some users, that we are contemplating using a custom script to perform the actions required to get users back up and running. We have 7 users that run multiple versions of Solidworks as well as Creo 3, and 6 users that are just using Creo 3. We're a consulting firm, so we are routinely switching CAD packages to adhere to our customers native format.    I know users aren't dillegent in routinely deleting and re-creating their local workspaces, and they do become corrupt over time, but

Actually I was having SQL DB Backup and dosen't have LDAP and Vault Backup. I have restore SQL Backup with Fresh Installation and now I was able to login through windchill. I can able to see my previous data but unable to download or open it...   So my query is Only the metadata will get saved in DB or it will also have a copy of our data that we have in Vaults.

Hi Friends, "Finish cannot be before start{0}" was found while trying to complete some activity in Projectlink. I have ugraded the CPS from CPS05 to CPS24. After this update, I am facing such issue. Before CPS upgrade i dont find such issues.   This error was occuring randomly for activities in the Project plan.For example, Sometimes It will be for 10th activity sometimes it will be occur for 25th activity.We dont able to tell which activity will face this issue.   And one more information that we are doing all projects in auto execution mode, If i start the plan today, It will take actual start date for all successive completing plans correctly. But some random activity(as said before) it will take actual start date on its own. This is the reason the error is showing.   Kindly suggest if any one knows solution for this

I have a windchill .prt file that defines a standard cutting tool. I'd like to make a hyperlink available to the people searching this tool in Windchill to be able to click on the attribute disaplyed in their search results and take you right to the website.Is there a place in Windchill I can put this hyperlink? The link works great in a drawing/part note but I want it available in the Windchill search results.Thoughts? Thank you very much in advance.

Good afternoon everyone, I was thinking about the legal validity of the supplier declaration in XML format in WPA. For instance, if I receive back from a supplier a XML file containing the environmental compliance of a certain article, then this file has a legal value against a request from control authorities or is it required something more about? Could somebody help me with publish AutoCAD drawings? I am having several issues  with AutoCAD, when I want to work in a drawing revision,  then I save the changes then I upload it into Windchill using PTC workgroup manager but the drawing is not showing. On Windchill, the visualization of the drawing is not working.   Thanks!

Does anyone know how to run & or export a where used report from pdmlink? I currently click on the little information icon then go to the general tab & select where used. It displays everything but when you are dealing with lots of assemblies it would be nice to export the data to excel or even text file. Any help would be greatly appreciated.ThanksMike

One user is suddenly getting a blank screen when she opens a file from Windchill in Creo View Lite. The workstation has been rebooted and that did not help. We switched from Lite to Professional and  back and still Creo View only displays a blank window. We are both using IE11 on Windchill 10.0 and normal browser functions in Windchill all seem to be running normally. The one difference may be versions of JAVA that we each have loaded because of some programs that she runs that I don't. Does theJAVA version make a difference with Creo View Lite?

Hi all   I installed Windchill.The installed environment is a PC using a router with an external IP.   I used port forwarding to access the internal IP of the PC that installed Windchill using the external port on the external IP.   The Windchill approach on PCs using the same router is successful.The Windchill approach on PCs using the not same router is fail.   The host file is also set, but results does not change.   It is accessible until "it Works !!"[server], but not "/ Windchill"[server/Windchill].   Attempting to access through inbound rules and port forwarding has appeared in "The page requested on Lmadmin can not be found." [Port used is 8080]   If i attempt to access the 7788 or 80 port, "ERR_CONNECTION_RESET" appears.   I thought it was possible to access a PC from another PC.[before Windchill]   However,I think access to Windchill seems to require different settings.For example, to access Tomcat,should add Address = "0.0.0.0" to

Hello hello,   Somewhat awkward question, I know, but theoretically speaking, is there a chance in Classification search tool to force the Refine search criteria attributes to show only those values that are in the Legal value list for those particular attributes instead of showing what there is already in the data? The case is that there is legacy data imported without Legal value lists enabled.

Hello, After creating WT part in a specific location,can we upload supporting files in same location automatically.(As per my knowledge we need to assign required location manually) Is there any chance to customise windchill or any settings such that supporting files with WT part number will automatically take the location of it's generic part. In the QMS module the Nonconformance has a couple of trees it can work with.  I'm looking to use the Quality Classification Tree in the WTVariance object.  I was hoping it'd be as simple as setting the constraint, but that doesn't seem to be the case.  In Nonconformance the ncCategoryCode has the following constraint... And selecting a classification from the picker populate not only the ncCategoryCode but also the ncCategoryPath. This seems to be the solution that the makers of QMS came up with for Cascading Dropdowns...       How could a guy extend this functionality to other form objects such as WTVariance?
