Hello,I have created ObjectReference attribute for WTPart which refers to WTDocument (other Side class: wt.doc.WTDocument and otherside attribute : number), but in create part wizard this attribute shows as "unassignable". How to to display dropdown list of Document instances?
There doesn't seem to be any automatic cleanup of the data being generated by performance advisor. Should there be? Out of the box Windchill log files are automatically cleaned up after 30 days. Maybe a similar approach should be taken for the performance advisor data. Are others manually purging this data occasionally?

Does anyone know if it's possible to disable exception stack traces in the Windchill log files? These are bloating the logs and (in my opinion) provide no value. Frankly, I don't think Windchill legitimately preventing users from doing something they don't have permission to do (based on ACLs) should be classified as an ERROR. I don't need to see a stack trace every time someone tries to check out something before they revise it. This isn't an ERROR, this is a SUCCESS. Windchill is doing it's job! Can the red text below be suppressed?2017-03-28 02:47:28,676 ERROR [ajp-nio-127.0.0.1-8010-exec-66] com.ptc.windchill.uwgm.proesrv.action.AddToWorkspaceAction <user> - AddToWorkspaceAction.checkoutToWorkspace :: EPM checkout failedwt.vc.wip.WorkInProgressException:Operation failed because the user did not have the necessary permission on the following objects to perform the operation: Drawing - <drawing 1>Operation failed because the user
Good morning,I currently do not have access to Windchill and I have been looking on precisionLMS and the forum but could not find what I need.I was wondering if one of you would be kind enough to send me the following screenshots (please hide any names or confidential information). The list of projects showing the status of the projects, % of completion etc.. I think this is the default viewChange Management: The default report that shows the number of Change Requests, Change notice etc..I want to illustrate my powerpoint with some screenshots that show that how default dashboards look like and how easy it is to get information from it.I hope you see what I am after. Thanks a lot
When saving an assembly, often times Creo will ask me “Do I want to save/continue/make read only/etc” parts that have really not been intentionally modified. When I indicate “Make Read Only”, I get the message “[filename] could not be saved to the workspace”. Then if I save a second time, the assembly is saved “[filename] has been saved”.Is this something we are doing wrong that makes us have to save twice? Some procedure we need to correct? A setting in the config that needs adjusting? Creo 3.0 F000 Windchill 10.2 M22Thanks in advance,Herb SpauldingMiller Industries
As i had question due to command "windchill wt.util.jmx.SMJconsole" and command "windchill wt.util.jmx.SEJconsole" both returned quiet similar output
Hi my users want to use PDM Link to be the document and life cycle manager for some point cloud surface modeling software called Leica Cyclone. It generates a native file format called .imp file which has stored within it suface models and associated XML and .jpgs. There are also other native files.I don't need to open these in CREO I just want to use Windchill to track the revisions, give names, and manage their life cycle. Has anyone done something similar to this and if so how did you go about doing it?I am using PDM LInk 10.2 CPS22.Thank you.
Rather than writing signatures to variables within a workflow and storing them as an attribute, is there a way to pull signatures from the object itself?
Hello everyone.I currently work for a company that has a basic PDM system, even the reseller told me it is actually a file manager. This is to say that CAD files are checked in and the CAD structure is used as the BOM.They have no concept of Item management. I am trying to build a case for Item management and have an Item vs CAD argumentation. The current PDM allows to link files so as you have a WTpart and its contain. The CAD files replaces the WTpart and additional files can be linked to the CAD files.Eg, if I have a model, I can associate office files (such as test report, material specification etc…). This looks similar to what you would do with the WTpart. They are also wanting to link their PDM with their new ERP system. They intend to transfer the BOM. They have not been receptive of the discussion about eBOM and mBOMI struggle to articulate argumentation in favour of Items with that particular company.I was wondering if anyone could share his experience.I guess this
I want to add rows in affected objects table (of Change Task) upon clicking a custom action. Custom action I've already created, AddParent. When I select an object present in the table and click "AddParent", the system should fetch all its parent objects & display it in the table. What are the approaches you can suggest? Thanks.
Hi All, I have updated obsolete information of 3000 parts(Business critical) by mistake. Now I want to rollback. Is it possible by a batch script like? Please advise. Its very crucial for my company. Thanks in advance.

We currently have SolidWorks 2016 and I was wondering if it is compatible with Windchill Workgroup Manager? We are using Windchill 10 and Creo 3 is our primary CAD software. But we are starting get files from vendors created using our part numbers that I am being asked to put into Windchill.
We haven't yet used (new for 10.x) enumerated lists of attribute values, but are preparing to do so. Some of our attributes have very long lists of possible values. There is no method that we can see to transfer values developed in a test system to production. Has anyone found a way to do this - possible via a Windchill shell command? Note: one can easily capture the values via a query builder report and so typing is not required when adding to production, but lots of copy/paste is still needed.Tech support saysexport / import thruany meansis not supported as far as they know.
@Operation failed because the user did not have the necessary permission on the following objects to perform the operation: Format - jjk_cadform_b_stdrd_wm.frm, -.1I recently installed Windchill 11.0. I am setup as Manager as well as User. I sure can use some help on how to set the permission for drawing format in Windchill?Best Regards,GWC
What is the difference (if any) to the end-user interface in Windchill when the system architecture is designed to use one container versus multiple containers? (I'm not asking about impact for system administrators, just the end-user experience). Thank you.
I want to fetch the Manufacturer /Vendor Organization for a Manufacturer part. I am able to get the Manf./Vendor part. I want to fetch the Contact details of the Supplier, for which I will need to fetch the supplier organization. Need Help. Thanks.
Family Tables are a headache with Windchill. One many of many issues is it's very easy for Creo users to remove Instances from Family Table by simply hitting Delete Row inside of Creo but this can create undesirable scenarios if the objects are already in Windchill. Since the Deleted Instance is now longer attached to the latest Generic model, if a previous Assembly in Windchill used the Deleted Instance, you are unable to update to the latest Generic rev in a workspace. You're stuck with out of date objects in your workspace. However Creo lets you delete instances without telling you that could be bad for Windchill. Our 'standard' has been to tell users not to delete instances from Family Tables once they're in Windchill and simply filter the undesirable instances off the drawing. New users have a habit of finding out the hard way that they shouldn't delete instances. I was curious what other people do... Not worry about it? Found a way to prevent users from deleting instances from Cr
I cannot for the life of me find where the association link types are living. I have the links, now I just need the association text... Any help would be appreciated.
