Hi,We have to PLM system in place and so as to maintain one system as master system.Looking for options to retrieve part number from Teamcenter and write to an attribute in Windchill Object.Any references on capabilities explored will be helpful.

Vorab, wir arbeiten mit Creo Direct Modeling und dem Windchill Workgroupmanager 10.2 M030-CPS18 auf dem Client und serverseitig mit CPS22.Ist es in PTC Windchill 10.2 als Admin möglich irgendwie an die Daten eines Users in seinem persönlichen Workspace zu kommen um diese Einzuchecken?Kurze Beschreibung des Falles: Ein User ist erkrankt und hat neu angelegte Daten in seinem persönlichen Workspace, diese sind zwar in den Commonspace hochgeladen und für mich als Admin ersichtlich, aber nicht eingecheckt. Nun sollte ich die Daten irgendwie "frei" bekommen, dass ein anderer User diese weiterbearbeiten kann. Neuanlage geht nicht, der Artikel ist bereits im System vorhanden und beim Einchecken bemerkt das System, dass im Commonspace eines Users Modell und Zeichnung bereits vorhanden sind, und bringt eine Fehlermeldung. I am looking for a company that is currently using an APQP process managed by Windchill

Help! I need an article that helps me to find what I want to find in Windchill faster.  For example:  I want to find all parts that have keyword "Nut".  I don't want to see all the models I just want to see the various drawings so that I can find the right size I need.  However, windchill pulls up all 1500 models and exceeds the table limit and I cannot find what I need.Also, how can I make search more powerful? If I have the following library folder structure:NutsAcorn NutsFlange NutsStandard nutsStandard nuts (black plating)Screws Is there a way I can create to create parameters and search for all nuts with a 1/4-20 thread and only search in the Nuts folder?  This is just an example,  I understand that PTC has add-ons for fasteners, but I also want to be able other objects by parameters.  For example.  I have glass in different lengths and sizes.  Is there a way that I can create parameters in my parts to search for all glass: tempered, wi

Hi All,I am trying to add a checkbox "Create AML Part" in the create new part wizard (as shown in the image)I have also created an additional wizard step which should appear after this checkbox gets ticked. The functionality is similar to the working of "Create CAD Document" checkbox. When I click on the checkbox, I want the "Create New AML" step to appear and rendered when I click on the Next button. I can't get Creo View to work in the Chrome browser after following PTC instruction on their support website. I'm on Windchill 10.2 m03 and CreoView 3.0, any help on work arounds.Also does anyone know how to have shrinkwrap parts show up in Creo View.

I was asked to grant a read-only access to contents in a single folder (and its sub-folders), within a product context to which this particular user does usually have access (they're not part of any team that has access to this product context).Is that feasible?  And if so, how do I go about doing this?I tried to use the "manage security" function and have granted "Read" access to this user / group, but now I don't know how they can navigate to this folder and add objects to their workspace etc...  - in other words, the product context does not show up in their list of places to browse...

I have 2 users user1 and user2 who have access to doc1.I have denied access to user1 by applying Deny acl on doc1;but when I use user2 and send the document to user1 for review/approve;user1 has access to this document from his task page.How do I prevent user1 from getting access to this doc at all.

How to export a document (WTDocument) structure, including content and attachments. The OOTB export from the document information page provides a zip with xml and content (including attachments) for the primary document but NOT it's children. Hello,Currently, the auto-numbering kicks in and renames all components according to the auto-numbering scheme when opening a 3D model in CATIA that is not saved in Windchill. I would like to delay this action until the 3D model is saved in Windchill. I came across this preference in Windchill 11.0 that seemed to be what I need, delay.autonumber.generation which allows you to switch behavior and delay number generation. Does anyone know if this setting is available in 10.2 and if yes, would it change the above behavior to what I want? If not, is there an alternative way to do it?Thanks much in advance!

We are actually a chemical company, but it occurred to me that some practices for managing a software type product might apply to us (in part) rather than a typical manufacturing environment. Actually there are two things that could be managed: The architectural/electrical construction drawings for building the process buildings and equipment for making the chemicals (not mass produced) and the actual chemicals themselves that are mass produced.Any suggestions?

Hi,we are using DTI and mapping attributes from PDMLink to Word or Excel.One of the attributes is a Temperature and measurement unit is defined in "Celsius".The attribute value and the corresponding measurement unit is displayed correctly in PDMLink.However, when mapping the attribute to Word document, then the value is converted into Kelvin and the measurement unit is shown as "K".According to PTC support this seems to be spec, and they asked me to create a product idea.How can I create the product idea?User would never accept the temperature in Kelvin and therefore I need to apply a workaround for this, but on the other side I want PDMLink to improve.Kind regards.Tom
