Hello.Currently, I'm trying to insert inside my Creo Mechanism Analysis the effects of lateral wind. For this I would like to use a force so I can easily turn on and off for each analysis.Would be nice to have it calculated using the cross-sectional area of the component multiplied by a constant Q (N/mm²).How can I make available this measure of area (mm²) to the User Defined variables list?  

Hello all, I am trying to use a orthotophic thermal material in Creo flow (v.7.0.8), but whenever I try to load the material from the main model I recieve the error: "thermal conductivity or capacity for the following materials is zero: Material name". They are of course not zero. If I change to isotrophic type it works without an issue. Can anyone tell me how to work around this? The only way I can think of doing this is by a vertical series of isotrophic thin layers to approximate the orthotrophic properties. Thanks in advance,   

Dowel pin should have the degrees of freedom of Rotation and Translation along the axis. As the stiffness does not affect along the axis of the pin. But it will act rigid in two other shear directions  

Hello everybody,I was trying to calculate reactions on the supports of a shaft.In particular, the shaft has an eccentricity on one side, and is supported by two bearings. Moreover, the motion of the shaft is imposed by a drive motor linked by a spur gear connection,Using Creo Mechanism I tried to model the supports with a bearing connection and a gimbal connection, in order to have 0 Redundancies. I attach a simplified version of the model I would like to analyze.In this particular case of eccentric shaft, the reactions calculated by Creo are completely different from the values I would expect.If I try to suppress the eccentricity of the shaft, instead, the reactions become correct.It seems that, for some reason, Creo doesn't succeed in calculate eccentric shaft reactions on a shaft constrained in this particular way.Is there anybody that can explain me this behaviour or even better, can help me find a way to correctly calculate these reactions?  Thank youEleonora &

I'm running a similar analysis, and currently, I'm facing problems to decrease the dynamic effects. @ptc-4639841, about this Dynamic Analysis that you've mentioned, have you compared the values with the Static condition?   In my model, if I run a Dynamic Analysis, the pin "X" of my 4-bar system will get ~18000 N, but if I use Force Balance, this same pin (in the same equipment position) results in only ~14800 N. I have run the analysis with 0,1 mm/s using relative tolerance of 1E-5, and friction is turned off. The accelerations at the fastest point of my mechanism are small.  Magnitude and mm/s². The peak in the graph occurs when one cylinder stops and the second starts. At the position mentioned before, the graph gives me 0,00075 mm/s². Sadly, I don't have the BMX license to try James' solution using Multi Objective.   Do you have any idea why, even with these small velocity and accelerations, the difference between dynamic and static is so big?   Thanks! &

Hello. I am using Creo Parametric 8.0.0.0. So... the title is descriptive enough. But let me give you some extra detail. So I have metric system on my file. The measure tool uses imperial system. It will show the correct value, (for example if I set something to be 10cm it will show 3.937inch) but the file is not on inch. I went to:File>Prepare>Model PropertiesModel is indeed in metric system. Yesterday everything was fine. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

It will show me that force required to move and object which weight around 1500kg requires a force of 2 bilions Newtons.  I am quite lost where is a problem exactly. Hello!I wish to create dynamic model for automated forklift. It will be just simple model. But my question is, I am able to create triangle of stability which is base on position of center of gravity. I can do it even with relation so my triangle will change based on weight and position of load. But will it be simulated in creo mechanism  ? I mean is it possible to create it such way that it will change shaped base on acceleration and slowing down or even when taking a turn. Thanks for answer!Martin. B

Good morning, i thank you once again for the availability you offer us whenever we have our concerns...indeed i have been trying for more than three months to simulate the behavior of Lasche whose real dimensions are below with CREO but my result are still not Validated because the Stress Max that i obtain from my simulation is much higher than the Tensile yield of the material used.   

I am using Creo Simulate Release 7.0 and Datecode7.0.0.0We are facing issues for non-Linear cases for structural Simulation for Mechanical Bus Bar Part. During simulation for initial mesh of flexible limit size of 5mm, its working properly, when we keep for simulation run with constraint the Nonlinear iteration is not Converging. we tried multiple ways of applying Boundary conditions. we are getting error every time. Simulation convergence plot is running fine 2 passes, after we get error message as " Run completed with Fatal error". we also try to change number of steps with minimum and maximum steps. in both cases we unable find results and getting same error message. Please assist us for solving the above issue.Here are the errors that I faced"The Non-linear iteration did not converge"." Run completed with Fatal error."

My Simulation doesn't work with mesh size 1mm but works with mesh size 2mm and 3mm without a problem... Please could someone help me understand the units it generates the results in and there magnitude. Are the results related to the principal system units? If so how? Hello,I've been trying to figure out a way to calculate the average/total flow velocity in a given section of the model. However, there are no such option in Flow Analysis. What I mean can be understood with the example below.  Is there a way to find out the average/ total velocity (m/s) of a local section (highlighted in red). Or is there a way to find out the average/total velocity (m/s) through the entire model.I can't seem to find any such option. The real time probe option gives values of the variable at just single points.Can someone please help me through this ?

I'm trying to represent a tubular diagonal brace, and the pins that attach the brace to a structure, using beams. The pin beams have two segments so I have a node at the center to attach the diagonal brace to. The ends of each pin have a fixed joint connecting them to the holes in the ears (pictured in the first attachment).  The diagonal brace has spherical joints on each end so I have a beam release on one end allowing all three rotations. The other end has the Y and Z rotations released but the X rotation remains fixed to prevent  the beam from spinning about it's own axis. The trouble comes when I generate the solid mesh. When I have all of the attachment pins in the model, Creo Ansys will generate the solid mesh with no problem. As soon as I put a diagonal brace into the model, the meshing process fails, sometimes with a fatal error. Creo Ansys doesn't give any diagnostics, so I have no idea what the issue is or how to resolve it. Do I need joints between the ends o

Vacuum pressure is applied into the center of the chamber as shown. This pressure can distort the circle. A fixed constraint will anchor the square plate. (12 locations in total) Q) How do I give a fixed constraint? (You have to consider that the circle can be distorted.) The Creo version I use is 7.0. Creo super master please help  

I know how to change them to scientific format (based on ptc article https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article/CS124580). Is there anyway to change the scientific format to fixed format instead of the current years-long vote-consider-action procedure? This is a basic function needed in result presentation. Why bother end users to vote for ptc to take actions to add this basic unction? End users will not be bothered to vote instead of voting on using competitors' FEA software tools. Why ANSYS has this basic function but Simulate needs people's vote to have this basic function?

Hi All, I am currently trying to run a Modal Analysis on a Frame. I have got DBID error (it did mesh) with a specific number. I found a thread on PTC Community as to how to find the Element which is causing the error by running the analysis on ASCII. But when I try to run it on ASCII, the software immediately crashes.  Is there any way how to solve the crash issue or to find which element has caused the analysis error? Thank you so much for your time and help. Kind regards 

Hello, I'd like to analyse a geared wheel stoped by a ratchet using creo mecanism.(view in My Videos)Which contact should be used to simulate the ratchet on geared wheel ?Please see my video attachedthe video uses a cam follower to illustrate the case but I would like the ratchet to lock the gear wheel clockwise and the gear wheel to be able to rotate counter-clockwise. is it possible to remove the ratchet part and simply prevent the gear wheel from rotating in one direction? I'am using Creo 7.0.5.0 RegardsArnaud
