Analysis

Running Creo 4.0 and I'd like to run a stress/strain or failure analysis on this part. This is my first attempt at a simulations.  I have viewed some tutorial videos and PTC courses, but I haven't found a comparable situation yet.    The part bears against a post for 60-70% of the upper length of the part.  It is pinned by the 2 screws shown.  I know that the failure typically is across the middle of the lower screw but I can't replicate in simulate.    Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks    

I'm having issues in understand how to properly set a topology design with frequency constraint. The aim is to minimize the mass achieving a 1st natural frequency higher than 510 Hz.   The item of the optimization is an aluminum rectangular box, from which I'd like to remove material leaving a "skin" of 0.3 mm at the bottom, with a ribbed structure to obtain the proper stiffness for the > 510 Hz first eigenfrequency. I did different attempts, but what I always achieve is a "messy" structure (unless I set "uniform in ## plane", but I prefer leaving Creo free to put material where necessary, and then adapt the material manually extruding various geometry ribs following the suggested material distribution) but most of all, when I proceed with the geometry reconstruction, I obtain a component that won't satisfy the frequency constraint. After a modal simulation, the 1st eigenfrequency is in every case way lower than the 510 Hz I've set.   I premise that I'm a beginner with Top

Good morning, I am working on some parts that was created not using astart part. I am trying to figure an easy way to import the parameters intothis part using a mapkey for later use if needed. In the parameter table Ido not see any import function. I am able to do a copy and paste fromanother part with the parameter I need to the new part. I am thinking if Ican write a relation to create the new parameter as a string of some textand then delete the text then I can get the parameter in using importrelations. I have an assembly I'm trying to analyze that has several formed plates welded together. I had done this analysis several months ago and got realistic results, but I had to rerun the analysis this week due to a change in the profile of one of the plates and now the results don't make any sense.   If you take a look at the first picture you can see that the weld is showing high stress along one edge while it is showing a fairly even stress in the second (original) picture. This is the exact same analysis with the exact same loading conditions. The only difference is that I changed the profile of one plate slightly and updated the mesh.   After having this issue I tried recreating the welds but I'm still getting the same results. Does anyone have a clue why this would be happening or what I can do to try and resolve it? UpdatedOriginal

Hi!, I would like to analize a structure made by estrusion (see attached file),  but generating mesh is very slow, it i possible to increase the speed of elaboration? are there any simulation tips to follow in this situation?   Thank you

  I am trying to analysis this castor model. The way the outer layer designed only create a single point contact with ground (the grey piece). When I try to analyze the load and displacement, it always stopped with fetal error. I guess this is due to the under constraint. Any idea how to set the constraint in this case?

I want to apply load on particular region only instead of whole surface. I tried lot but able to identify option in Simulate live. Can any one help me on that ?Note :: In Normal creo simulate, we use surface region

I cannot find a descriptive list with the built in help document for creo relation functions. I would like to see a comprehensive list of all available relation functions. Example, would include the function EXISTS. I know how it works I'm just giving an exmaple so someone out there might be able to search and find a list which contains this function. PTC documentation is less than desireable.

Hello,   I am using the CFD to simulate the airflow going through an assembly. Inside the assembly there is a heating coil, now I am wondering if there is a way to simulate the heating up of the airflow? Is it possible to assign a temperature to individual parts (heating coil) in CFD mode?    Regards, Andreas

The study that I'm working on has a chamber with some critical process components and an evaporator that is part of a refrigeration system. The purpose of the study is to determine the flow direction inside the chamber as a result of natural convection and introduce vanes/ ducts to improve the direction of the flow to cool some critical components inside the chamber. The evaporator is assumed to be isotropic and represented as a rectangular block at 248 K. The initial temperature of this solid domain is set to 248 K.  Also, a specified temperature of 248 K is defined for the evaporator under its general boundary condition.    The density of the fluid domain inside the chamber is set to behave as an ideal gas, to account for changing density of air. Hello,    I have a serious problem with Creo Flow (6.0.2.0.).    I can set up a simulation, run it and review the results but as soon as I close Creo (after saving both Creo Flow project and the main assembly) I get an error while trying to open Creo Flow project again.   Clicking on "Open project" from Creo Flow UI gives the following error:    "Error at line 1 in file xxxxxxxxxx (xxxxxxx are the name of the main assembly file).spro. Unsupported main element domain".    Anyone knows how to solve it?    Thanks.   

Anyone have an idea on how to set motion up for Sphericaly released cylinders.  I keep getting an error due to the rotation to the cylinder.   I am also getting an error on my gimbal. I want it locked out so it can't spin. Want the range of motion locked to 12 Degrees.   I have tried having Sub-Assemblies (Cylinders and Gimbal)  and all components in one file. I just can't get this one to work.    Gif of motion I want. (Forgive me for the poor dragging)    I actually want to move the cylinders thru the sweep ranges and make a motion sweep of the area.    Any Help is much appreciated.    Gif and Dummy Files attached.

I want to try to extrapolate force (tension) from a welded structure to perform a calculus as prescribed by EN1993-1-8.       I want obtained the forces by measures of a simple truss loaded by transversally. On each side of the green beam I want to simulate the presence of two filled weld with a=5mm. I used two kind of measure: Force and Interface.Looking on the Help it seems the proper one should be the force measure, but, in this case, I think both should be right.Exept that the results are different, so which are the right?   Thanks Bye

Hello all, good afternoon.First of all (beforehand) I'd like to thank you for your time reading my post, truly appreciated, and I'll try to keep it as simply as possible, briefly.Attached you'll find the road-map or conceptualization of the whole picture.Basically, we have a round structure support with some square legs from aluminum, that needs to be tested with a dynamic load, a bag of X material with a mass of 136.078 kg falling to the top surface of the structure from a height distance of 6" inches, to analyse if this impact, drop test, shock would cause the structure to fracture or completely breaks exceeding it's material yield (which is a certain isotropic composite material).But I haven't found anything that could help me on performing this particular test, I've been able to replicate most static loads testing without any issue and I've been having my time correlating most of the matrices, I've came from NX Advanced Simulation, which was a little bit more friendlier on dynamic

Hello all,   I am working in which two bodies are in a contact with each other. There is a concept called hertzian pressure which says that maximum stress is inside the surface just below the contact and not on the surface or point of contact. I have attached an image which would make my point clear.       Is there any way to see or to define a section view in the simulation result window?

I wonder if there are differences between Simulate in Creo 5 and 6.From what I could find on web, there aren't new features, but maybe any code improvements for calculation velocity?I don't have Creo 6 yet so I can't make any comparison...
