Hi Folks,Must be Friday afternoon for me as I am short of temper.I find that I frequently have problems accessing the PlanetPTC site. Maybeit is just me on the other side of the world trying to do something when PTCfolk in the USA decide that everybody else is asleep and it is a great timefor site maintenance. Ok so In general I hear that if the bearings are not made for axial load,obviously keep the fan horizontal. But in the case of having to use the fanvertically, there is no consensus as to whether to go up or down shaftbecause the fans can be designed specifically for both, up, down or just foraxial load. The mystery fan does have ball bearings with spring loadedthrust bearing (cheap, but still a thrust bearing) and the manufacturer doesnot see a problem with the orientation. Someone suggested that dust would beminimal because of cooling ventilation, however these motors arehermetically sealed and all brush dust stays inside. It does not look nicewhen you open an old one, that's for sure. I think I got my questionanswered, basically if the bearings can take it, it is OK, but for surevertically mounted motors will have reduced life over horizontally mounted.thanks all who replied.regards,Alfonso

So does uploading an image look just like a discussion, only you attach a file?

Does anyone have a model of a constant force spring? See image. How would you model this in Pro/E?

Is the user experience affected in any way by opening Pro/E WF4 data in WF5? Would the user notice any difference? Any information is helpful, thanks!

Is it possible to make a flat straight leaf spring flexible and bend about an edge. Like a cantilever beam.

I have a customer who is interested in running Pro/E using a CITRIX Server environment. Wanted to see if anyone has been successful doing this and how difficult is it to implement & maintain? They are looking this as a solution for users to remote access to a server and only have low end computers at their cubicles. Also, they want to limit loading Pro/E client software on thier office desktops @ the cubicle.They are currently running Wildfire 4 and looking to go to Wildfire 5 in next year. Hi Folks,Still getting used to this forum method rather than the email Exploder.At the 2010 conference in Orlando we were told that PTC ignores enhancement requests in their present format. This was explained as them have something like 35,000 of them so it is an overwhelming task with no way to filter just what is popular or useful.We were told that this Planet PTC forum would introduce some sort of way of getting people to participate in (effectively to vote on) which ideas were most valuable in terms of getting them into future builds or releases. I have not seen anything on this site about this yet so I am going to post some enhancements I thought about early this year (when I was looking at WF5 for introduction) and hope that it prompts some useful discussion and maybe feedback from PTC on how this process is going to run.Regards, Brent Drysdale.

I'm considering getting Pro E Wildfire 5.0 but I collaborate with associates still using 4.0. While using 5.0, can I save files in 4.0 format? Or, is there an easy way to convert 5.0 files to 4.0 format?Aaron

Hope everyone had a great holiday (for those of you in theUS).I have a slightly off-topic request, but we all know how useful thislist is...I have a 12" diameter x 30" roll that I need to have grooved axially. Ineed the grooves as accurate as possible, so I assume grinding would bethe best option.Does anyone know of a grinding shop (in the US) that might be able tohandle this sort of work?Any and all leads are appreciated.
