Does anyone know how to convert files from WF5 to earlier versions? Thanks

I have WF4 M040 loaded. I just installed M060. When I start M040 I have no problem but when starting M060 I receive anwarning message:Windchill cache must be converted to 2008 format.Press OK to convet, Cancel to exit application.We are still use WF3 but I am looking at WF4. Did anyone else receive this error and will it present a problem for me when going back to WF3? Would I not recieve this error if I deleted all my workspaces and the PTC directory on my computer?Steve G

My Favorites list in the Pro/E file browser keeps getting deleted ever sincewe went to WF3. Can anyone tell me where pro/e keeps this list, so I canattempt to diagnose the problem? Is anybody else experiencing a long delay (+5 minutes) when logging into ptc.com - or am I just that special? Way back in February, there was some noise on the exploder regarding compatibility of the eDrawings program and WF 4.0.Are there any known issues with the current version of eDrawings and WF 4.0 ?WF 4.0M080No Pro/IThanks,Bob

It seems that several folks have had issues with FF & the downloadmanager. Not sure what it is, but I just killed it and I'm going backto HTTP. Others also mentioned that I should only do 2 at a time, which I recalltrying to do more than 2 downloads would hang up IE as well. Thanks,Doug Schaefer

Hey, I'm sort of new to pro e (again), last version I used was wf2, but now I'm on wf4. I used it a while at a previous job, went back to Solidworks, and now I'm back. So, I'm sketching (it's all coming back to me, though a bit slowly), and I spasticly clicked something, somewhere (don't know what or how) and made all my sketch dimensions became reference dimensions, and I don't know how ot turn them back ot normal dimensions. The easy solution is to delete all my ref dimensions and place them over again, but it woudl be nice to know what I did and how to undo it for future "reference"... Thanks, BM

Can anyone confirm the rumor... with documentation, that WF5.0 will have accuracy absolute only? If so I'm curious what the default value is? Anyone currently using absolute now ? if so what value ? any conflicts or problems ?ThanksSteve

Hallo, ich habe ein Problem, und zwar kann ich die auf meiner Personal Edition erstellten .pk2-Dateien nicht auf einer lizenzierten Version (15.50 B) Öffnen und umgekehrt kann ich auch die .pk2-Dateien, die auf der lizenzierten Version erstellt wurden in meiner persönlichen Version nicht öffnen. Weiß hier vielleicht jemand, ob es eine Lösung für das Problem gibt, oder ist es nicht möglich? Gruß Michael

I have no experience with Pro-E. What would most people recommend for me to 1. obtain a copy of the software (personal use only) so looking to find best deal. and 2. How to learn the software. (books, online tutorials, classes, etc.) Can I learn this software on my own by playing with the softare and reading some tutorials?? where do i get the software???

All, Can any tell me if the default options in the dashboard are modifiable?What I am after is: in the extrude icon after placing my sketch, I do morecuts than I do protrusions, I would simply like for the dashboard to defaultto a cut instead of a protrusion. We upgraded to WF3, M160 this week. Suddenly, we're having issues with ourdxfs. When the plasma operator pulls up the dxf in the software that theyuse to nest the parts together, lines are missing. Is this something the rest of you have heard of? Hi everyone, I did get a lot of responses this time so thank you all. I apologize ifmy question was not very clear... I was struggling with the terminology. To sum it up, I don't think what I'm looking for is possible. Someone suggested that the handle (or insertion point or crosshair oranchor point... I'm still struggling with the terminology) falls in thegeometric center of the sketch; I believe that is exactly what it does.It works fine for symmetric sketches. Someone also suggested that a coordinate system in my sketch would beused at the handle; that did not work for me. I knew that already, but FYI, it is possible to move the handle in thesketch by pressing and holding the right mouse button. It will snap tosketcher entities. I'm trying to use the hole tool to create a threaded hole to accommodate a 1/4-18 NPTF compression fitting, but I can't find that option in the selection list. What am I missing?

Wasn't sure where was best)I have set pro_group_dir ilcs://prointralink/Root Folder/UDF Library When I try to open the group from that directory on commonspace, I get the message, "can not find group", however, when I open the group from the workspace, it is fine. After a failed drill/tap group, I created a new UDF with just one standalone holemaking sequence and had the same problem. Both udf's work from my workspace, but not from commonspace.??? Any ideas?
