I am having a difficult time constraining my parts so that they move correctly later. Simply put, I have a mass with two wheels, one of which is driven, that needs to run along a rail. If I fix the mass first, the rail moves, and if I fix the rail first, I cannot constrain the mass and wheels. Any advice? Thanks, Kyle

Hi all, There are already 10 file servers, now I need to setup the 11th one, for the neighbors setup, shall I include all of the 10 file servers or just inlcude some of them which will be communicated usually? is there any affection on performance if I add all of the 10 servers in the neighbor list for the new setup? I'm using Pro/E WF 4.0 M070. I can start Mechanica and choose the "Lite" option. It puts me in "Lite Mode", but the "Process Guide" doesn't come-up nor does the button for it work (although it is not greyed-out). The vast majority of the Mechanica buttons on the right-hand toolbar are greyed-out too. Anyone familiar with this?

Alot of times I do things that need to be mirrored on the dwg. Rather than create a whole new assy. I just convert to draft entities and mirror, but I cant get the dims to work. Anyone know how? Thanks, Jamie

Pro E users, Is there a way to change the sketcher scale? Upon the first sketch, if Idraw a circle, the value of the diameteris large. My parts are less than 1 inch in diameter (most cases). Iusually create a circle, and by default the value is a couple ofhundred, then I adjust the value to 1 and delete and then begin mysketch. Any ideas would be much appreciated. BradWF 3

Does anyone know which system color (in widfire 4) to change to modify the color of the "scale" text and "model name" etc. at the bottom of the page in dwg mode.

Hi When I import a dxf file and then convert it with autobuildZ to a model,I have found that sometimes the sizes differ (+/- 5mm) and even some lines that where at an angle have been made straight. The problem is I sometimes only realise it after I have done a lot of changes to the model. Is there some setting I have to check? Any help is appreciated Thanx Rene

I am currently using the student edition of pro-e and I was wondering if it was possible to change the measurement system from metric to english and vice versa.

Does anyone know if ProEngineer supports import of IDF files version 4.0? I currently have IDF files of my PCB's in version 3.0 but the tracks and pads are missing, and I was told they do not exist in IDF V3 but will be included in version 4.0. Another way would be to import VRML files, but I cant get that to work. It simply gives me an empty PRT. Any ideas?

I have inherited a computer and it has a server connected to a workspace. I want to work directly from the local on the computer, however whenever i go to save a file it directs me to the workspace. How can i fix this problem??

I'm not sure that PTC ever officially said IE7 was supported. OK, I did a ptc.com search for 'internet explorer support' and found thefirst result [1] was from 2006 and warned against using IE7. A fewitems down, however, lead to a page last updated in May 2008 [2] thatindicated that IE7 is recommended or required (depending on how youinterpret the chart) for WF3 M070 and above. We are running WF2 M180. Is Pro/E compatable with newInternet Explorer 8? I seem to recall something about IE7 and Pro/E so we never updated to IE7.

I find I can't add to my menu/toolbars when I am in sketcher mode, and when I am not in sketcher mode the sketcher toolbar isn't available for obvious reasons. So how can I add or remove items from my sketcher toolbar?

Something I tried the other day. Create mapkeys for the sketcher constrians,cs = constrain symetricalcc = contrain consistantcm = contrain middlect = constrain tangentand so on, and so on.I find it very handyBrDaniel

Hi,We put several company logos into plastic parts. I am trying to create UDFs to help speed the process up. Right now, we are using saved sketches that are imported in from Adobe. These work fine, but once you bring in the logo you have to dictate the SCALE and ROTATION of the artwork. Once you have placed the sketch you are locked with that scale. Is there anyway to make that SCALE be able to be modified?Thank you,James
