Sim'ers, Has anyone out there used Fatigue Advisor in a customer/production or consulting environment? Specifically, the customer is interested in how the data gets from acquisition to MECHANICA. Appreciate any kind of feedback. I'll post replies.Randy Speed, PrincipalSpeed Consulting, LLC2871 Howard RoadWaxahachie, TX 75165(972) 938-0490 ph (972) 937-2319 faxwww.speedconsulting.com
FYI -I don't know how well PTC has advertised this, but they added a newforum on their web site for CADDS 5 users:
Hello, Happy Friday... I am trying to flatten a quilt. I have used the "Flatten Quilt" toolbefore. It sure is a great tool when it works in "auto" mode. I think my problem today comes from the fact that the quilt is an extrudewith a variable draft: Any hints on how to get this to unwrap?

How do you create a tangent draft about a non linear drafting plane, that has unequal geometry on either side of the drafting plane and you can only add material with the draft. The draft from both sides, has to meet at the same drafting line. Any ideas ?[/img]
Does anyone have any experience with what type of file works best from Solidworks to Pro? I got an IGS from a supplier but when imported to Pro, it has too many gaps to heal. Any help would be appreciated.thanks
Today, I started Pro/E WF3.0 just like normal but when I tried to set my working directory by choosing Browse Favorites, all of them are gone. Actually, the word "Browse" is grayed out. I'm sure it's something simple to correct.Could someone tell me where the set working directory favorites are located. I may have a copy of the file floating around. Thanks,Bob
I'm wondering if anyone would be willing to share a Makino Post for a E33 VMC with a Makino Professional 5 control (Fanuc 310i). or any model Makino with this control. I have already downloaded the Makino Post from the PTC library and have not had much luck with it.
I checked out PTC Web store and only Wildfire 3.0 is avail in Student Edition -Personal Use. Anyone know if or when Wildfire 4.0 will be avail?
Hello ALL I am an experienced autocad user 15+ yrs exp. and I have approx 2 yrs with mechanical Desktop. What can I expect if I try to self learn Pro/E. ie How long does it take to become an "expert"? How helpful are the classes?
Here's the summary of all responses: [silence. crickets chirping.] I guess no one knows what that means, even PTC. 😛 Oh well, I wasmore curious than anything. Thanks,Doug Schaefer
Honestly, who uses the damn things? Anyways, our trail file directory is a networked folder, so every time you do anything (even using the 3D Connection navigator) the system constantly tries to write to the network, slowing everything down. The work-around one of our users came up with is changing the directory to a local (C:\) drive. Well, in almost 12 years on Pro/E I've never seen the need for the trail file, and it's been known since I started using it that if you re-size your window while working your file is pretty much worthless anyways. Why do we need it when if you save often enough your frames do a better job anyways? So, is there a ways to turn off the creation of the trail files so it's not even trying to write? Thanks....
EDR issue with regards to view search results. Our server exists overseas and there is no one to help where the server resides.I believe it is some sort of permissions issue between the EDR and web services.
I am looking for the names of companies in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia that use Pro E/Wildfire. Can anyone help me out?
As you know , ProE WF4 now supports the new standard for dimensioning (ANSI Y 14.41). Anybody knows this standard ? Anybody checked it out ? Of course it's possible to buy the official manual of this standard, but anybody knows if it's possible to find any subset or an overview of it ? Thanks a lot Bye Pier
Hi FolksI'm trying to follow the instructions on PTCs "How-To" pages for creating text wrapped around a cylinder (http://www.ptc.com/cs/cs_23/howto/bgf64/bgf64.htm) but for the life of me I can't find the Formed option in Sketcher. Is this available in WF2? If so, can someone tell me where it is? If not, could some point me at how I create text wrapped around a cylinder? Many thanks!
I tried to use EMX 5.0 with wildfire 4 M030 but system said that there was some problemm about legacy. I used same protk that I used with wf2. must I change something? thanks

Is it not possible to save a copy of a model to STL in WF 4.0 M020?!
I'm looking for a ProE or other CAD model of the space shuttle. Thanks, Mike Foster ATK Space
I'm playing about working hard with WF3.0 doing some Published and CopyGeom. The annoying thing is that when I bring in the data from thecopied file, its window appears in front of the window that I have allthe commands on and I have to keep resizing all my windows to finish theaction. Those of you that have been on WF3.0 must have experienced thisand I'm wondering if you could share any fix/workaround. Thanks, Richard A.
