Hey... Running is taking a long time... like hours long... Solver setup recommendations out there anyone?
Can anyone help me on how to constraint a pin/hinge in Mechanica. I have read the beam option, but I didnt quite understand on how to apply it for the joints. I really appreciate your help Ravi
Is anyone aware of how to Start Pro-E and automatically have it start any of the availiable floating modules once it starts up? I'm not sure if we need to start it with a mapkey or if there is some other option availiable at startup...Peter WoernerGleason Corp.
I set my working directory to the proper location that I need to work to. When I open a file and try to save my changes, it tell me that it can not save to this location and the OK button is grayed out. I have full access to the directory, full write permission and the files are not read-only. Does anybody have a clue on what this mean? What can I do to fix this. Thanks,Denis
I know this is probably a very simple task to complete, but I'm used to SolidWorks. So how would I sketch the following polar equation: x(theta) = 105cos(theta) - 17.5cos(3*theta) y(theta) = 105sin(theta) - 17.5sin(3*theta) Thanks a lot.
1. can i control mesh size in mechanica?(is there any effect of aspect ratio on mesh),according to my knowledge, even if i control aspect ratio ,i am getting same results. 2.can i get reaction forces at constrained points? 3.i want to know about shell reaction force,(physical significance in software) In results window this option was given. if i give point constraints ,it is giving concentrated stress in results , is it correct?how it can be overcome. i hope best from u guys,
I want to say thanks to all who responded, supplied information, and voiced opinions. This was all very helpful. I have taken the information that you have given and passed it along to my supervisor. Now all I have to do is wait and see what actually shows up on my desk. But thanks again everyone.Jason Emmette
Believe it or not, some people from our headoffice think it could be awise idea to migrate our company to SolidEdge (the main CAD system froma sister company). So I need some amo to shoot against this idea. What I'm mainly interested in is:- Functionality comparison between Pro/E and SolidEdge- Productivity comparison between Pro/E and SolidEdge- options to import SolidEdge data into ProE - options to import ProE data into SolidEdge TIA, Olaf Corten Olaf Corten - CAD Supervisor - Engineering
Hello, I'll to know if it's possible to push informations (on the screen) when you open pro E for th first time of the day (example the morning)??? Best regards
Replies:It probably has to do with your accuracy setting.Try setting it to ABSOLUTE and 0.01mm
We are excited to offer a new forum for ProductView discussion.
Thanks for the quick responses by several folks.Everyone pointed me in the same direction:<Thanks for your help. I'll just sift through the "big list" from above.Bob
I know this has been asked before, but I forgot to save the response.I'm trying to find the PTC list that gives the service and maintenancerelease notes for each build version.Example:WF 3.0 build M100 - fixes XYZWF 3.0 build M110 - fixes 123etc...Thanks,Bob

Hi I'm looking to see if anybody has a model of a syringe with a male luerthat they would be willing to share? Thanks in advance. Bob Rizzari
As a follow up to my last post, I guess what I want to do is to create a hollow sphere, cut it in half and then cut it in half again.
This is interesting Jim. I have to try this. Much thanks.
Thanks to all that replied. In addition to HP & Encad (Kodak) the recommendations were: Canon, Kip,& Xerox. Thanks plenty for me to investigate. Thanks again.Gerry Champoux Williams InternationalLead Engineer 2280 E. I need to get a new plotter. We normally use electrostatic plotters from Oce, but management wants a cheaper solution this time.I've checked out HP & Encad (Kodak) and identified some potential models. But are there other major players?I need:* Mostly B&W, but need to do some simple color now and then (not photos).* Handle 36" (or larger) roll paper with automatic cutting.* Connect by Ethernet. Must be built-in, or use a plug-in card (like HP's jet-direct)* Support HPGL/2.* Under $5,000Any recommendations?Gerry Champoux Williams InternationalLead Engineer 2280 E. Hi, Does anybody have the latest data for the number of new cad seats sold peryear by company? I'm interested how Proe and Solidworks compare. Thanks. Bob Rizzari
Anyone have a clue as to what the 'Alternative Mass Properties' are used for ? Also what does 'designated', yes vs. no mean? Thanks
Thanks to those who replied. The few people who have tried it reported WF3 feels the same under Vista as XP provided the latest video drivers, bios patches etc are installed. Older drivers were indeed very slow. There was no feedback on when it might be supported by PTC - we will pursue this through our local distributor.WF2 does not appear to run under Vista.Best wishesJohn Prentice
