In Creo 4.0 one of the significant enhancements was to provide advanced capabilities for standalone annotations of the following types: Geometric Tolerance (GTOL), Datum Feature Symbol, Datum Target and Dimension. In this blog post, I'll provide a little bit of background to explain the differences (up through Creo 3.0) between standalone annotations and annotation elements owned by an annotation feature. Then I'll explain in more detail the enhancements in Creo 4.0 and I'll finish up with some advice on when you might want to consider using either standalone annotations or annotation elements owned by annotation features. What is a standalone annotation and how is it different from an annotation element inside an annotation feature?A standalone annotation is an annotation that is not "owned" by some other feature in the model. These annotations are listed in the model tree under the Annotations node.Annotation elements, by contrast, are owned by another feature in the model. Typically
Hello Everyone, The last time we send out a note, we said we will share an update at the end of May. We took a little longer than that, but we want to show you where we are - we will be following up with a demonstration at LiveWorx'18. Thanks & looking forward to meeting you at LiveWorx'18 Kartik Oak
Standards-based GTOLs in Creo 3.0 and earlierIn Creo 3.0 and earlier we used to have a config.pro option called 'restricted_gtol_dialog' that would restrict access to various options in the GTOL dialog based on what was allowed or disallowed according to the GD&T standards. Effectively this option would prevent you from creating an "illegal" combination of symbols in a GTOL by disabling some of the UI components based on the options previously selected. For instance, the datum reference fields were disabled for Flatness tolerance since Flatness does not allow datum references per the standards. While in general this functionality had some benefits, there were also a number of problems associated with it:It sets the expectation that the Creo software has a comprehensive understanding of the standards and that any GTOL you were allowed to create was "legal" and, conversely, anything that you were prohibited from doing was "illegal" according to the standards. There was no way to indica
PTC introduces a next-generation technical support service - called Proactive Support Services - that allows customers to proactively manage their PTC products and be notified of risks before they become problems. PTC’s Proactive Support Services, available to customers now, increases user productivity, reduces the impact of security risks and lowers overall administrative effort. “This is an incredibly valuable service. Windchill Method Server logs can be overwhelming to review and analyze. The idea of proactively reviewing logs and providing insight is a huge benefit and value for Windchill System Administrators,” commented Tom Sisler, Engineering Services, Knoll, Inc., who participated in the beta program. “We generally find ourselves reacting to events. This service will likely prevent issues, and as a result improve the entire lifecycle of Windchill operation and management. Thank you!” The On-Demand System Scan service allows system administrators to manually scan
The PTC Support Services team is developing a new capability to automatically analyze log and configuration files provided to us by our customers. This new capability, called Proactive Monitoring and Support, was originally in experimentation phase with select customers, and has now reached a level of maturity where we are engaging a broader audience in order to help us fine-tune the quality and quantity of issue detection and notification. We believe that this valuable service is a next generation evolution to the high-quality support that PTC customers receive. The technology powering Proactive Monitoring and Support is rooted in decades of experience in troubleshooting and efficiency monitoring by our Support organization. We felt it was time for a customer-facing issue detection engine that brings added value and efficacy to PTC’s powerful suite of enterprise software products. Customers can look forward to early detection and notification of issues without any added

I need to be able to export mass properties to a text file. These properties are not only weight, but CG and Moments of Inertia information for parts, as well as X-, Y- and Z-origins for those parts via the next higher assembly, and directional data. I know the data is available, but I don't know how to access it for export to a text file for Excel or Access to read.Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Dear valued Integrity LM customers, The last update we shared with this group was about our focus to the PTC Integrity LM 11.2 release that released on schedule in December 2017. As mentioned earlier we have made progress on the ‘Design Thinking’ process & now have started putting together the infrastructure and framework for the New UI based on the candid feedback we have received from you thru interviews and collaboration meetings. Christoph Braeuchle, who now leads our Product Management organization for Integrity LM will be sharing an update with you all on the 23rd of January 2018 on our plans for the New UI. I'd like to take an assembly made up of n parts, and export the assembly as n .obj files instead of one .obj file. You can do this by exporting each part of the assembly one at a time, but for an assembly of 100 parts or more, it requires too much time. Is there a built-in way to automate this process or any ideas how to go about finding a way to accomplish this? Thanks,Scott
請問下載學生版本之後,一直無法開啟,還要下載quality agent,可是我一直找不到,請問有甚麼方法解決嗎?
All,Does anyone have a mapkey that opens a model that has been selected on the screen? I'm using Creo2 and I can't seem to make a mapkey for this that works. When I pick a model it's a pain to have to right-click and then mouse to the "Open" command. Thanks,Mike FosterATK
Dear valued Integrity LM customers, The last meeting for the New UI was held in September and as promised we now give an update on our next steps. PTC Integrity LM 11.2 will be released Mid-December and currently has the full focus of our R&D teams. We want to set the expectation right, there will be no preview or beta release for the new UI included in that release. Instead we decided to focus our capacities on foundational work in the product, which will accelerate our further R&D activities in that area. In parallel we have completed major steps with the ‘Design Thinking’ process and ran a first series of customer interviews. These yielded valuable insights and gave us candid feedback. Those of you, who were not actively included yet, are considered as candidates for future interviews. We also appreciate all the feedback you provided on the topics we discussed in the collaboration meetings. All of this is currently being analysed with utmost diligence.
Are there any news or any meetings ongoing? Is the roadmap still valid that the UI replacement will be available in June 2018? What about your plans concerning the new data model?
This is driving me crazy. Is there any way to disable the selection filters so I can freely pick what I want, like I used to be able to do before Creo?(one of these days I will meet up with whoever thought creo was a good idea. Its not going to be pretty.)
Edit Definition and Edit References now appear as icons in the model tree context menu. Some other commands also appear this way. Does anyone know if there is an option to change this so that each entry has a text description?Cheers
HI usually, we can define the layout of automatically created drawings for AFX components, but this method can't create balloons ,because it's from format (***.frm), can we create drawing as drawings(***.drw)?
There is a very nice summary of the impact on medical device manufacturers of the Johner Institut (https://www.johner-institut.de/blog/?p=936146). Unfortunately this article is in German, only.
