And they should be able to just look at all the things that are searched for and look at the results themselves. Or figure out how many different searches a user tries per "event" before giving up and going to the exploder. You have to login to the support site, so maybe do a big data analysis of searches on their site, followed by email posts by the same user to the forum, and then compare the responses from the exploder against the responses from their support site. Honestly, I'm tired of the conversation about the demise of the exploder. I've ignored the emails this time around.Back in June, Brian Martin gave a good summary of how to set up email notifications on the PTC Community. PTC Community Email Notifications.zip (2014 k)<">http://portal.ptcuser.org/p/fo/do/download=1&fid=25424>Since he's a user of the community, and I find the whole website confusing, I asked him:· How do you typically use this site?· When you go there... where do you go?· How do you find what you want?He sent me the following email. Which is the kind of information that should be promintly displayed on the PTC Community web site. It's not a case of "Build it and they will come". There needs to be some thought of how a person would actually use the site. And then the instruction on how. That's where the community needs some improvement. But all of us need to stop crying in our beer, and figure out how to use the site.David HaighPhone: 925-424-3931Fax: 925-423-749
All -Can someone please remind me where to find the Creo 2.0 release comparisons (what changed/is new/etc)? I think this is where I saw it before..Related question - does M110 have more stringent graphics requirements than M060? I have a user experiencing some issues opening a second model in session after his upgrade. Thanks in advance -Chrystal JohnstoneSeattle, WA
I would like to take a single depth quilt and offset it as a closed solid or quilt in both directions. I am wondering whether there might be a tool that would make this possible.I have looked at the Thicken command and this only allows extension in one direction. I've looked at the Shell command but this appears to not even be available for my unclosed quilt. I'm assuming this also would only allow extension in one direction.Would anyone know if there is a tool in Creo that would allow equal offset extension from the base quilt in all directions?

How can I find the going rate for hiring a Pro/E Administrator for consulting services?I have no clue on where to look. I know that the city and state makes a difference. I am interested in Dallas, Texas. Thanks for any input you can provide.
Danke in voraus.Viele Gruß,Edna
Terry,As a PTC customer who has been one of the faithful since 1988, I could not agree more with what you have said about PTC’s move to kill the PTCUser Exploder. We are too busy to visit your “shiny new website”. We’re too busy trying to compete in this world, and efforts to “control the message” by killing the main channel of debate and dissent will not serve PTC’s purposes.Terry’s message is so important that I feel that it’s appropriate and necessary to reemphasize the key points of his posting.“If you kill PTCUser.org without providing an adequate alternative (read "email notification for ALL posts") then you deserve what you will get - more bitter cynical users that question your every move and refuse to trust the most transparent motives.Sound familiar? It's the very thing you've been trying to patch over ever since the heyday of the 80's and 90's when you built a solid reputation for screwing your own customers. Good times...Seriously - where else are you going to find knowledge
Thanks all, fast response as usual.New link is here:http://support.ptc.com/products/granite/gcri/index.htm
I went looking today for the GCRI (Granite Cross Release interoperability) plugin that allows older versions to open files from newer (2 or 3 releases back, I think), and I couldn't find it. A Google search for "GCRI" or "Granite Cross Release interoperability" came up empty as did a search here at PTC.com. I found a link in an old email to the page for it (http://www.ptc.com/products/granite/gcri/free-download.htm)

Dear PTC.If you kill PTCUser.org without providing an adequate alternative (read "email notification for ALL posts") then you deserve what you will get - more bitter cynical users that question your every move and refuse to trust the most transparent motives.Sound familiar? It's the very thing you've been trying to patch over ever since the heyday of the 80's and 90's when you built a solid reputation for screwing your own customers. Good times...Never mind you're giving Solidworks another example of why they are the easier company to work with - customer focus is just another fad, like pet rocks and MySpace. The really cool companies are establishing a single source of information. Align your strategies, control the message, feed the pipeline... and pretend you don't see that simple solution over in the corner.Seriously - where else are you going to find knowledgeable global experts willing to share their in-depth understanding of your products... FOR FREE!! No company can afford to o
The shocking news from day one of PTC Live is that PTC want's to "absorb" the mail exploder into their on-line communities forum.http://communities.ptc.com you'll see the announcement of this at the top of the page.I went up to Ron and Dan durning the break and said what are you doing to my mail exploder. The answer was there was pressure to only have one source of communication instead of some stuff on the forum and some via the mail exploder. They are having discussions next week on how to transfer the data from ptcuser to the ptc site.I asked if I was still going to get emails and the answer was no.I'm sorry but this is killing the goose that laid the golden egg.Make no mistake, if you don't raise your voice on this issue the mail exploder will disappear.Dave Haigh
I'm trying to replicate a mapkey that i created in creo2 for creo3, but I'm not having any luck.Below is the mapkey that works in creo2mapkey u @MAPKEY_NAMESMART_MARK;@MAPKEY_LABELSMART_MARK;\mapkey(continued) ~ Command `ProCmdDwgCreateNote` ;#MAKE NOTE;#NO ARROW;@PAUSE_FOR_SCREEN_PICK;\mapkey(continued) @PAUSE_FOR_SCREEN_PICK;&PTC_COMMON_NAME:ATT;;#DONE/RETURN;Just some more infomation: when i try to create that same mapkey in creo3 is stops when "&ptc_common_name" SHOULD be automaticly typed in. So pretty much the mapkey works up until the text is supposed to be filled in automaticly. Also, im not sure if this is relevant but i get an error that reads: "Mapkey error: Invalid trail file line : No palette found for command 'ProCmdDwgCreateNote' in context 'context_main_dlg_w3'"thankyou

I just started again working with Creo 2.0 a couple months ago. I used Pro_E back when it was DOS based. I have used Solidworks and Inventor also. I am very disapointed that Creo has not changed that much since I used Pro_E . Seems like they keep adding things and not fixing the problems that need to be addressed. I was really blown away with the fact that Creo still does not count all the holes in a detail. Very sad.I was really looking forward to using it again it was the best program out there when i used it long ago. it seems it is very far behind the others now.
hi,We now can use to design models by the screws/nuts/washers/pins。Usually,we must establish standard parts in afx, for example,bearings/bearings with housings, keys, and so on.there is a probelm about the naming scheme of standard parts.for example,I create a standard part of bearings with housings,ucp_pillow_blocks.but this part have a series of type ,for example, ucp201,ucp202,ucp203,ucp204,and so on.I now need the naming scheme of standard part about ucp_pillow_blocks in afx(Just as the naming scheme of screws/nuts/washers/pins in afx) ,so these naming( screws/nuts/washers/pins) are different from the parts of afx/equipment (That is :PROJECT_SHORT#-#ELEMENT_NUMBER)I need help and tell me this naming scheme of standard part.THANKS!
