I hope to share a method which I think might make filling out AML/AVL entries faster, at least in my company. See, most of my OEM parts are the same as the MFG part so it literally a copy task to fill out. The one by one method is too damn slow and with version 13's expose org preference, a total PITA. I've done most of the big sweeps via excel imports so what's left is small blocks of parts lacking AMLs. Tough to find and fill out.  I have a report (QML) above that export the full AML/AVL I care about. I have observed that often similar part numbers are in order from the same MFG but just not entered in. I just need to add in MFG name and as a base, they would be approved to start. What I need is a way to make that notation and generate the import sheets for those notations.  I have settled on a VBA macro (.xlsm) that will pull in the QML reports of AML/AVL with gaps and all Suppliers. Units are converting wrong, when I have psi multiplied by inch it gives me units of (lb/s^2) and when I do a kip multiplied by in it is giving me units of ((lb*in^2)/s^2)

I am using Windchill Aerospace & Defense Release N/A and Datecode with CPS N/AI'm working on some parts and drawings and when I check my drawings in and then download them into a different workspace or another machine they are deleting the dimensions off of my parts. I have tried restarting CREO, deleting my workspace, creating new drawings and a few more things and am having no success.

I am using Creo Parametric Release 11.0 and Datecode11.0.0.0Dear PTC Support Team,We recently upgraded our Creo software from version 8 to version 11. Since this upgrade, some users have reported a significant decrease in the quality of 2D drafting outputs. Specifically, when zooming out in 2D drawings, the lines and texts appear blurred and less sharp compared to Creo 8.We have thoroughly checked the graphics card settings on the affected workstations, and everything appears to be correctly configured. Additionally, we have tested all the solutions recommended in the PTC community article (Article - CS169272) without success.Could you please confirm if there are any known graphics-related issues in Creo 11 that could cause this blurring effect? Furthermore, we would appreciate any effective workarounds or fixes that you could provide to resolve this issue.Thank you very much for your assistance.

I was just playing around with the function format to see if I could create a readable, compact form that displays the values of variables in an expression.   To do this, I wanted to use the Unicode character point 10 or 13 to generate a newline.   This worked in Prime 10, and I'd previously used it to create string justification functions, such as:     Mathcad Prime 11 has broken this behaviour.  I now get:     Why did PTC do this?  Is it a bug that got introduced, or was it deliberate?  If the latter, what benefits accrue to the user that outweigh the loss of functionality?   I've been requesting more sophisticated strings since before Mathcad Prime was developed and throughout its entire existence—for example, HTML or RTF.   Taking even such a limited capability away is irritating in extremis.   Stuart   @DJNewman , @amcgough

Hi I want to transfer Solidworks properties into PTC Creo, I am able to directly open the solidworks part through the unite technology but when I look at the parameters tab my solidworks properties don't have a unit quantity or unit. Is there a way to transfer these aswell?

Hi,  When I was working with Solidworks, there were options in sub-assemblies to show, hide or promote the components under it.  When the option is set to "promote",  all components in this sub assemblies were shown in the drawing BOM in the upper assembly drawing. If it was set to "Hide", then the sub-assembly was treated like a part in upper level assembly drawing BOM.  It is a common practice to gather parts together so they can be used as a group.  It seems there is no easy way to do it in Creo.  I made a parameter called "SYSTEM_TYPE" and set the value to "Phantom_Assy", then tried to use 2 repeat regions and use filter to include and exclude parts with this value. But I couldn't make it work. Has anyone tried and success? I attach a diagram here showing what I am looking for.  The BOM in GA drawing should contain comp1, Assy1. Comp3 and Comp4.  Assy2 is a phantom assembly and doesn't show in the BOM.  Thanks for the

I'm trying to find out what was changed or fixed in datecode 11.0.1.0 compared to 11.0.0.0. If there is a summary of changes/fixes on the website someplace, I haven't been able to find it. I support our company's users and would like to be able to tell them what is changed in 11.0.1.0 before they upgrade their installed version.

I have several complex components I need to enter into CS.  They have upwards of a hundred pins.  I have the graphic representation in .DXF files.  How can I load the .DXF files and incorporate them?  CREO 11 Schematic.

I have created a sub-type of a "Change Notice". I would like to hide the "Location" attribute from the "Create New Layout". I have selected the "Location" attribute from under the "Attributes" tab of the sub-type before navigating to the "Visibility" tab and setting the attributes visibility to "Hidden" for the "Create New" operation. However, the "Location" attribute continues to display when I try to create a new instance of my sub-type. I have a requirement to remove the "Complexity" attribute from the same layout. I was able to do this successfully by following the same approach detailed above for "Location". I'm unsure why this would work for one attribute and not another. Can anybody shed any light on this?
