I am using Creo Parametric Release 6.0 and Datecode6.0.6.0In sheet metal mode, are there any function to set limitation of Sheetmetal to protect overlap each other when unbend?Now user use Flat pattern preview to check after finish Sheetmetal design.However, user don't want to fix after check by use Flat pattern preview.They want some command to alert overlap when during design sheetmetal on that time.Please share some technique to help me.

Hello, I'm having some trouble understanding which programming tools for Creo Parametric are free and which require licensing. When I open the "ReadMe.txt" file in the otk_java_free folder in my Creo Parametric installation, the is a note about downloading the user guide: --otk_java_free User's Guide-------------------Please refer to the PTC Creo Object TOOLKIT Java User's Guide.The User's Guide is available in a PDF format. This file is located at:<creo_loadpoint>/Common Files/otk_java_doc/otk_javaug.pdf-- When I open that document, the title is "Creo Object TOOLKIT Java" user guide and it includes a big section about licensing and needing a Creo Object Toolkit license. When I try to load the sample "InstallTest" sample I get an error trying to load it. I do NOT have a OTK Toolkit license but I do have a Creo Parametric License. Has anyone else noticed that sometimes ModelCheck will flag a word as misspelled even though it is in the user_words dictionary file? I even cut and pasted the word from the ModelCheck results flagging it as an error into the user_words file and the next run it gets flagged again as misspelled. The word is CONTAINMENT. We are running Creo 9.0.5.0.

I am trying to modify the built-in weld symbol (ISO) to be used with the Weld Tool for 3d annotations. However, it seems that the Weld Tool is building the symbol from left to right in the code from a bounding box around the individual elements (weld size or weld length). The tool will stretch or shrink the symbol to fit, however if I try to add elements it will also try to place a bounding box around the elements that I add and it ends up way too long. A manually placed symbol looks correct, however, a symbol placed by the weld tool will show spread out with empty space in between the elements. If I move the custom lines from one group to another, they will stretch the symbol in different ways.Creo 9.0.2.0Does anyone have experience with this? Any suggestions on how to modify the existing symbol without disrupting this built-in auto-spacing?

Hi, I am looking to delete a family table in a part. I remember in the past when the deleting the table I got some sort of warning that the instances would become standalone. I deleted the table and did not get a warning. I file the part as well as each instance in my workspace. I checked all out and then checked all in. There were no errors on check in. I looked at Windchill commonspace and the generic and instances were modified. The reason why I am breaking this table up is because I am trying to delete an assembly in common space. I am actually deleting an entire folder that is not related to anything else in Windchill. Its all standalone that I imported. I get a warning that it can't delete the generic because I need to also delete the instances. I don't know why? I broke the table and am selecting the generic and the instances. Maybe I'm missing something? WayneF

For example in the fillet weld they are the "style" checkboxes. - shorten the continuous and dashed guide line under the symbol numbers, since having just the fillet size and triangle symbol (+ the all-arournd circle in some cases) doesn't require much lenght of the lines below and by extending over it also takes space uselessly in the drawing. We have loaded the symbol from the weldsymbol folder into creo, but we are unable to edit because there are so many symbol on top of each other due to fact that the symbol can handle all options, so to find the option for length and shorten the lines seems impossible. The Creo Parametric config options for Web.Link confuse me a bit. This support article gives the recommended settings for Web.Link: https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article/CS156638. Before reading this article I was only aware of the web_enable_javascript options, so that is all I enabled.  Which means my config looks like this: Funny enough, everything with Web.Link works fine. I can read files from my local file system, manipulate and read data in my Creo session, etc. But according to the config options, this should be disabled. So what do the web_link_read/write options actually do? Anyone got an idea?

Let's say I want to reference a parameter from a lower level part or assembly directly in a 3D note. (I'm in Creo Parametric 9.0.4.0)  I can only directly achieve this if the part is a bulk item.  For that scenario I would used <parameter>:FID_# where # is the feature ID of the bulk item.  However, if my lower level "component" is a part or subassembly the above method does not work.  I also tried using <parameter>:SID# where SID# is the session ID.  This also does not return the lower level value in the note.   According to technical support case 17184215 this is a limitation.  There is a work around in that in Relations one can create a parameter <parameter_test> and declare it equal to the lower level parameter using <parameter>:SID# and then call the assembly parameter in the 3D note by using the "&"  (i.e. &parameter_test).  However, this is obviously more work and can make f

What is the best method to label a fiber when using the "Extend across sheets?" Is there a way to define locations such as sheet# and grid location (ex. SHT 1 C-7)? I see the parameter <sheets>, but I don't want to list the local sheet.

I have an assembly created with Family table in it, when I opened one of the instances of the Generic Assembly, the components are not visible in the Shading with Edges setting, but when I switch the model display to No Hidden line or Hidden Line, I could see the parts. Hello, I'm currently doing some parametric models/library models and I would like to know if there is any possibility of making a parametric model as it's done through relations and family tables but with downloaded step files. Because some of the models are pretty complicated and it would take a lot of time to make them as I want to, is there any shortcut for that? I read something about putting them all in one assembly and then creating a library from that but I'm not sure about it. Thanks for any help in advance.I am using Creo 10

Hi, This is topic is about the location points used in the cabling module.When there is geometry in front of a location point, you can't see it as it is 'hidden' behind the geometry. However, I would like to be able to see them just like you can always see datum points, no matter if they are behind / within other geometry. In that way, it's easier to spot & select them without rotating the model or go into 'edit segment'.Maybe even make it a quick toggle; 'show location points trough geometry' - Yes / No For example:I have a location point that routs a cable around a bracket. I had to move the bracket in to a new position. On that new position, the location point of the cable was located inside of the geometry of the bracket. I made a temporary copy of it's geometry to the harness skeleton. Is there a way to make a connection attivabile by relation?In the sens of a connection (gear or motor for example) that runs under certain situations and it doesn't in some others.Eg: if this distance is lower than X, then you don't work.   Thanks

I am using Creo Parametric Release 7.0 and Datecode7.0.3.0How to round a feature that goes from pocket to protrusion.

I have a problem with switching windows. When I attempt to go to another window.  It will attempt to activate the window and then switch back to the original window.  This leaves me with no way to actually get to that window that I want to work on because it keeps switching back.  The only manner to work around this issue is to hide or close the window that Creo keeps attempting to return to.  I cannot find a reason for this behavior. There are no active tools.Does anyone else have this issue?
