You can now assign material directly from the Model Tree or graphics area, by selecting the component and using the Right Mouse Button (RMB) menu and clicking Add Material.If the Materials node is already visible in the Model Tree, you can also activate the RMB menu from any of the available materials to edit or assign.Check the below images and video.
PTC has improved Freestyle to allow users to split quad faces into n-sided faces. Click the command Add Edge to increase the number of edges per face. Each edge breaks the 4–sided face into smaller faces, providing better control to define the form. You can delete selected edges, which results in the automatic collapse of the faces and the deleted edge vertices. This gives you the flexibility to split the control mesh into any defined shape so you can create any type of geometry.
PTC now allows users to import and export standard Wavefront (*.obj) files in Freestyle. The OBJ file could be created from other subdivisional modeler tools and imported geometry can contain multiple shapes. Freestyle will provide additional control on import such as the facet units the ability to flip the normal direction of the control mesh.
PTC has improved how Style deals with closed curves. Users can now create closed curves as periodic or nonperiodic curves. A new option is available to toggle between the different states of the closed curve, however, all newly created closed curves are defined as periodic by default. Periodic curves have no tangency control on endpoints, enabling start and end point continuity. This will result in creating better quality surfaces. Nonperiodic curves are split in two halves during regeneration to support downstream creation of sketch-based features. Periodic curves will now be supported as b-splines inside Sketcher
PTC has improved the Drop Curve feature in Style to allow the new direction option of Normal to Surface and then selecting the surface on which to drop the curve. You can also drop a curve onto a datum plane, in a similar way to the Project feature. The dropped curve on the datum plan converts the curve to a planar curve. When dropping a curve on a surface, you can flip the direction. These enhancements reduce the need to create additional geometry and make it easier to define shapes and project them.
PTC has replaced the former Advanced Rendering Extension with a new solution powered by Luxion Keyshot. The new application is accessible from the Applications tab in PTC Creo Parametric and will feature a real-time workflow to see your renderings take shape instantly. You will be able to easily switch between rendering and modeling mode without needing to exit the rendering application. New Scenes have been created to provide further improved renderings to place your model in the right environment. If you have an existing license of standalone Keyshot, you can easily export your Creo data to standalone Keyshot through the the new Advanced Rendering Extension.
With Mechanism Motors now being features, you can also define relations, create UDFs, reroute them etc. Attached video shows an example of adding a relation to one of the Motor's coefficients. Note that the result of this relation is also visible in the dashboard as the value is greyed-out and is no longer accessible due to the added relation (A=100).
One more example of what you can do with Motors now being feature. The attached video shows how to simply reroute the selected Motor to another Rotation Axis by clicking Edit References in the Mini Toolbar from either the Model Tree or the graphics area.
In Mechanism Motors are now features, which provides several advantages. One advantage is that the dashboard is unified and allows you to change the Driven Quantity in the Motor feature. Check out the attached video for an example.

Prior to Creo 4.0. when a cable or wire failed due to violation of a fixed length there were not any tools to remove the fixed length of the failed feature. With Creo 4.0 from Model Tree, or notification center you can now Right Click and choose Remove Fixed Length. If the wire has already failed then the fixed length is automatically removed, and wire is regenerated - See the attached Video

With the release of PTC Creo 3.0, PTC Creo Parametric users now have access to an expanded library of standard parts and fasteners as well as an intuitive user interface to speed up the process of adding hardware to your assembly design. Jim Barrett Smith, Product Manager at PTC, gives an overview of the new capabilities: To define the position of a fastener, select the datum point, axis, or a hole. You can select two aligning surfaces to define a fastener connection with a thread. Or, you can select two opposing surfaces to define a fastener and nut connection. Next, select a fastener from the comprehensive library of fasteners. Choose the size of the thread or measure the thread size using an existing hole. Users will learn how family tables enable you to create a large number of common parts quickly, based upon a generic design model. Family tables are a collection of parts or assemblies which are similar, but deviate slightly in some aspect – such as size or included features. Bolts are a common example because they look similar and perform the same function regardless of their properties. It’s helpful to think of them as a family of part models. Parts in family tables are also known as table driven parts. In PTC Creo Parametric, you can create family tables in three easy steps. Step 1: Identify Features Which Will Vary First, you must identify which dimensions or features will vary for your family of parts.
