Our new Creo Community Challenge focuses on two powerful tools that are already included with your base Creo installation: the Advanced Framework Extension (AFX) and the Intelligent Fastener Extension (IFX). What the Challenge Is AboutAFX (Advanced Framework Extension) helps you quickly design structural frameworks using standard steel and aluminum profiles. It simplifies the creation of frames, supports, and welded assemblies, and makes it easy to modify your design as it develops. IFX (Intelligent Fastener Extension) lets you insert industry-standard fasteners such as bolts, nuts, washers, and screws, with automatic hole creation and intelligent placement. It ensures that your fasteners fit correctly and that your assemblies look realistic and complete. The challenge is to combine AFX and IFX to design something practical, creative, or just plain fun. The goal is to show how these two extensions can work together to build realistic structural assemblies with automated intelligence. C

Hello everyone,I’m facing a problem yet again: I have modelled a door system in Creo Parametric, consisting of a door frame and a door leaf. The dimensions for the frame and the door leaf are specified in the assembly’s relationships. To make the assembly easier to use, I now wanted to define it as a family table, so that I have individual assemblies for specific assembly scenarios and can work with them. However, the individual parts do not change when I alter the instance’s parameters. The background is as follows: I would like to be able to insert any adjustments to the relationship logic just once, rather than having to insert them multiple times, as would be the case with copied components. So the situation is that I currently have one System.asm consisting of a frame.prt and leaf.prt. I now want multiple instances for the system.asm for various mounting situations of additional parts without copying the system.asm.Do you understand my problem and could you perhaps help me out? Mayb
Hello all,Is there by any change a way to select all the bodies in one selection in an assembly after a query by Bodies, without selecting every single body?Open an assembly ; Queries by Type = BodiesAll the bodies are filtered (in green)Now, I want to select all bodies without selecting them induvidually. Is it possible?Thank you
I use creo 10 but I also tested on Creo+ (13).I asked recently, “Why does axis pattern show 2 “direction” dimensions when I only have one direction?” I had noticed this but never really asked. I don’t remember it doing this in creo 6 or 4 and before, not sure which
Automation interest continues to accelerate (AI is pouring gas on the fire).CREOSON has hit over 15,000+ downloads! 🤠BOTH Small and large companies are there leveraging CREOSON (and CREOPYSON - the python 🐍 interface) to streamline their Creo Parametric workflows. 🕺🏽Some key things you need to know about the current capabilities:CREOSON interfaces with Creo 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, and 13 100% Open Source! A preview of something that is being tested within CREOSON, looking for feedback and ideas.Keep these questions in mind as you read:Do I (or my company) care about my data going to someone else’s AI / Cloud? What use cases, processes, interfaces cause pain today? How could this change my day? Why do I care? The intent is to provide a FREE AI MCP (Model Context Protocol) interface within CREOSON that enables your AI Agents to connect to and drive Creo Parametric either as a specific set of contextual tasks - or within the context of other systems/environment workflows (e.g. YOUR models, standards, documents, EPR, PLM, etc.). Seems like this would be super powerful, and provide a lot of utility. This screen capture is an example of an AI Agent validating a connection to a new CREOSON MCP Endpoint (prototype currently). Hello I have a reference pattern created from geometry present in another part in assembly. Referenced pattern does not get updated automatically, when I update my parent/main feature. What could be the main reason refernce pattern does not get updated automatically when refernce with external geometry. I have also checked the update control is set to automatically . TIA
I have a user how is simply trying to save a shrinkwrap on a simple part, but when he goes to Save As, before he gets anywhere his Creo 10 is freezing and generates an error as follows:The defined Environment file for the model scene is missing and will be replaced with the Creo Default Environment file. You can update the scene by selecting the desired Environment file from the Scene Editor under the View Tab.I can’t seem to find any info on this. He’s not in render mode or anything like that. There is nothing special about what he is doing. Seems like it is now all files, so its “environment related, not a specific part/assy issue. I tried with the part on my computer and it works as expected.
Currently Im managing the eBOM and mBOM using PDMLink module withing Part Structure tab (Without MPMLInk module)here is my eBOM and mBOM association examples,ERT-1234 A.1(Engineering) ERT-1234 A.A.1(MFG-Plant-1) ERT-1234 A.A.1(MFG-Plant-2) ERT-1234 A.A.1(MFG-Plant-3) ERT-1234 A.A.1(MFG-Plant-4) Now , I’m planning to move to Windchill MPMLinkplease let me know do we have any PTC recommended Tools or Utility to run all the existing data to MPMLinK Thanks,Vishvanath
My Company recently ungraded to Cero 12 from 8. There are a few changes made to the whole cabling side of Cero. I have been able to work through most of it but now trying to add the terminal information has been tricky/I can’t get it to work.In the past we have added in the terminal table to get all that information and eventually use it when making the drawing in the to-from table. We also have another smaller table with some of the same info for each connector. To make the BOM accurate we make blank parts with the part numbers of terminals, locks, and seals and place them in the assembly so the table is accurate. So far I’ve tried making new terminals which just throws the “name already exists” error and when I try and import them from the old trm files the same thing happens. I would assume this is because there are part files that already exist and not from the trm files. If anyone has a solution or work around that would be much appreciated.
Hello Creo API team,We are building a Creo Plugin . We already have tessellation data in memory:Vertex coordinates (x, y, z) Triangle connectivity (facet index list) Optional normalsCan we create faceted/mesh geometry in a Creo part from this data programmatically (no UI)?Specifically: Is there a public ProToolkit API to create mesh geometry directly from in-memory vertex + triangle buffers (similar to passing a vertex buffer and index buffer)? If not, what is the recommended approach Environment: Creo 11.x, ProToolkit C++, Windows x64.Thank you.
Hello, I am looking for a fast way to exclude items inside a pattern or group. This would be applicable for simplified reps or shrinkwraps. When you create one of these two, Creo opens a separate window that allows you to pick items to exclude. However, if there is a pattern or group you have to expand all the way down to the part level and shift+select all the parts to exclude them. This is the case even in the model tree when the rep is active. Is there an easier way to exclude all parts under an assembly or group? I was downloading the student version of creo for my class, but I dont see any License folder under the ProgramData/PTC file.
Hi, In my section view I have created driven dimesnions. But When I switch the annotation tab at the bottom to standard view (Standard Alle) then in the drawing the dimensions dissapear. In my drawing I have applied the section and I have also applied partly visible area How can I dsiplay the dimensions ifor a section view in my drawing?I’m using Creo 11.0.1
I recently got Fanuc option G93 for Inverse Time Feed installed on a Toyoda FH500J. I am working toward a goal of having an edit free post for that machine. Right now, I get several lines where an F0. is placed before a B rotation. I end up replacing any F0. with a more appropriate feed rate in the G-Code file. It works, but its not a perfect solution. The part that will be the first part I cut with this is a 12” cylinder with a helical swept groove. It is a constant pitch. I don’t know why there should be many feed rate changes at all, but the way the post writes it is with a change on almost every line. Then there are the F0. that definitely need to be edited prior to running.Anyone else out there using G93 on a 4axis horizontal? Any thoughts on what I am seeing?I am using a cutline milling path and a 1/2” ball end mill. The groove starts at the top and bottom where the cutter basically makes a u-turn as it works its way down (helically) to the center of the groove. The spin
I am using Creo Parametric Release 7.0 and Datecode7.0.9.0 This is not my exact problem but I think might help explain my problem. Imagine I have an assembly of a mechanical based clock. It is an assembly of many assemblies and parts within. Many layers deep. Various parts of the mechanism move and I would like to define several assembly positions. For example....I would like to load the clock assembly showing the position of all the external and internal parts in 12:00 position.....3pm position and say 18:15 position. The BOM stays the same. Can you provide some clues on how I might achieve this? For example, Can I use just simplified reps? Its the many layers deep which I'm struggling with.
Hello Creo 12 users,I’ve recently been having a problem with creating curves. When I go to Options for the curves and adjust the points, the curve jumps back to a different shape after I click OK. It looks as though the points aren’t being saved.I’ve attached a video.Does anyone recognise this problem and have a solution? Thanks and best regards,Ramon Bohne(Siemens Energy)
Dear folks, I am looking for a video tutorial, workshop, pdf guide for Progressive Die Extension (PDX).Do share if you anything on PDX.
I am using Creo12,is there any way to “save the customized parameters filtered view” so my part, assembly or drawing always open to new filtered view by default ? only need to see our “designated parameters”.afer saving file, filtered view always reverts back to “default setting” - does not save my “new” filtered view. thanks,Rich
Creo Version: 11.0.6.0DescriptionWhen opening a STEP file containing 5,000 unique cube solid bodies, Creo takes an unusually long time to process the file. The import never completes successfully, and Creo eventually becomes unresponsive and crashes.Steps to ReproduceLaunch Creo Parametric 11.0.6.0. Open a STEP file containing 5,000 unique cube solids. Wait for the import process.Expected ResultThe STEP file should open successfully without crashing.Actual ResultCreo remains in the loading/import process for a long time, becomes unresponsive, and eventually crashes.
I am using Creo Parametric Release 7.0 and Datecode7.0.0.0 Hi, I know it's unsupported but I need to be able to download Creo 7.0 for our business to solve a problem. Can you please share me a link were I can download it? Thanks. BR Robin
Hello Team,-Creo 9 with Windchill.I'm looking to create a mapkey to quickly open a drawing of a room that's already open.I've done a lot of research and i can never find a working solution. please don't redirect me to an alternative solution.I know that a part can have several drawings or be included in other drawings. However, in my case, 90% of the parts created have only one drawing, which has exactly the same name as the part, with .drw instead of .prt.I've created a relationship: DRAWING = PART_ID+ ".DRW".I now have a parameter with the right value.Since copy and paste doesn't work in mapkey commands, is there a line of OS script code that you could put in a mapkey to say, open "parametre drawing"?I work in a company that doesn't allow third-party applications to be installed.Thank in advance.
We recently installed a new server.I updated the FlexLM license server to the latest version compatible with Creo 9. I think this was just the latest version.I can no longer use ptcflush to clear out a license that is “stuck” on the server. The error message I get states that it can’t find the server. Specifically, it returns:lmremove: License server machine is down or not responding. (-96,7:11001 “WinSock: Host not found (HOST_NOT_FOUND”)I know the license server is running just fine, it’s supplying me with the arguments for the ptcflush command.I wonder:(1) Is ptcflush attempting to use a port to communicate with the server? A port that is likely not open according to our IT policies? Part of the server replacement was yet another tightening of access (can’t ping, can’t do a lot of things anymore).(2) Is there a character limit on the server argument of the ptcflush command? Our old server name was 12 characters, the new one is 16 characters. You know, for more security…The name of t
I have code that I have written in C using the toolkit on Creo Parametric 12.4.3.0. It tries to connect to Creo using ProEngineerConnect(), and it works fine if Creo is up. When Creo is not running it returns a PRO_TK_E_NOT_FOUND value, which is expected. If I have the call to ProEngineerConnect in a for-loop my executable dies after the third try when Creo is not running. Here is the call:iStatus = ProEngineerConnect("",NULL,NULL,"",PRO_B_TRUE,10U,&bRandom,&hSession);This code worked just fine using Creo 10, but is failing under Creo 12. I am using VS 2022.
