Hi, I have Used certain relations in creo 4.0 as i am trying to drive the dimension through excel so i have created relations in the excel which i tried to import in the creo and I also change the name of feature id's then also while giving relations between them i am having error like invalid symbols or the relations have errors. I have made simple assembly which contains 2 parts :- (1) part 1 contains the sketches (work as skeleton model) (2) part 2 contains the extrude (length of the box) & depth of the hole (extrude cut in the box) Relations are as follows: HOLE_SIZE_E=HOLE_SIZE_B:1 HOLE_DEPTH_E=HOLE_DEPTH_B:1 BOX_WIDTH_E=BOX_WIDTH_B:1 BOX_HEIGHT_E=BOX_HEIGHT_B:1 BOX_LENGTH_E=BOX_LENGTH_B:1 HOLE_SIZE_E is given to the part feature(dimensions) while HOLE_SIZE_B:1 is given to assembly relation pl. can anybody help me to resolve this error... Regards, Shubham Mehta
I am using Creo Parametric - Release 2.0 (connected) 2.0 M250Need support on creating Hose/Piping mechanism. Hose/Cable/Pipe should have movement along with other parts in mechanism.
I have made a 3D .PRT model and I want to show it in a 2D .DRW drawing, but using a non-orthogonal view. First, I create 3D annotations in the .PRT, using the "Annotate" tab and the "Show model annotations" command. It is important for me to project the dimensions in the correct plane, which I can easily do in the original model (see first image). Then I create the corresponding drawing. Here, however, when I select "Show model annotations", the dimensions are shown projected along a direction orthogonal to the view plane (see second image). I have no way to edit the annotation plane in the 2D drawing. Is there any sort of workaround? My goal is to obtain a drawing similar to what I can see in the .PRT (see first image). The annotated 3D modelThe 2D .DRW where I need to show the annotations
Hi Members, I am currently playing around trying to learn CREO, I have done a little bit of inventor in the past. Although quite similar there are obviously some differences, I'm sure you experienced lot will be able to point me in the right direction. The problem I'm having is when I create a sheet metal flange via sketch (please see attached example), it automatically miters but leaves the deformed area intersecting. Obviously this will create problems when manufactured. Is there any way to automatically cut this excess material out via the sheet metal tools as opposed to manually creating a sketch and 'cutting' material away with the cut/extrude feature? Thanks Heaps!!!
Hello ,I am new to Creo, I am expert in solidworks vba API, Now i want to learn creo API.Can any one tell me how i can open vba environment in creo, is there need to purchase any special license. Thanks in advance
Hi,My Creo Parametric 6.0 license has already expired. I'd love to renew my license to some of the latest versions (Creo 7.0 or 8.0). I know that renewing will not suppose updgrade. I was reading about some tips like uninstall origin version and then install latest but some people have colissions of new license with old version and stuff like that...Is there a solution to renew the license but without keeping origin Creo 6.0 version (to have the newest one)?Thank you in advance for all replies!
I have been writing ProToolkit on and off for 20 years using C. I have a 1991 programming education, so Object oriented programming looks rather foreign to me. Can anyone recommend a training class on Object oriented program that would prepare me for writing ProToolKit OTK? Is there a point where we will be forced to convert all proToolkit to OTK? Thanks!
Does anyone have experience exporting user selected quilt(s) to a step file? The workarounds I am aware of are rather cumbersome and I am looking for a streamlined method to use. Ideally I would like to be able to a select a quilt when exporting and have it sent as a quilt through the STEP interface. The current documentation on the interface is severely lacking and has not been very helpful. Assume the model has both solid a quilt geometry present. The workarounds I have worked out to date: 1) Create two layers to isolate (via rules) solid geometry and quilts to prevent the solid geometry from exporting with the "As is" option in the STEP interface 2) Export quilts and solids as is and then use IDD to delete the solid geometry to leave the quilt behind when importing the STEP file 3) Export user selected quilt only as surfaces and stitch it together after import #3 would work if the export was a quilt instead of individual surfaces. Has anyone found
Hi All, I have a step file of an assembly, and would like to extract a geometric feature (a set of curved surfaces) so that I can create a model based on them directly. I have found a similar solution on the support forums but the post is out-dated and vague, and I cannot get the solution to work on my system. more details: The copy Geometry button is greyed out, so is the publish geometry button. Thanks, Nasim
We are in the process of assembling a very large assembly structure comprised of many Advanced Framework sub assemblies and other designed components. We have large drawings that are taking a long time to publish with CreoView Adapters. I have looked at the PTC University training modules and it seems that we would need several of them to get close to allowing us to improve the overall system performance of these designs. What I am looking for in the community is a recommendation of any training provider that can do a customized onsite class for probably 6 people that would incorporate the PTC University modules into a single 3 or 4 day course that go beyond the basic fundamentals of Large Assembly training. If you can give a recommendation or contact, either reply here or send me a PM. I will be contacting a few training companies directly (Boundary Systems, Tri-Star, Rand) once I get further information from management on what their objectives are for this training. I will post those
Hi, Actually, I have to export all the 3D CAD model dimensions or CAD assembly dimension in to the excel so how it is possible through the programming as I have to this exercise repeatedly irrespective of the model (CAD assembly) so I thought it's better to write program for this. Does it is beneficial to control or export through VBA or what could be the easy approach to get all the dimensions... Any approach or suggestions are welcome. Thank you, Shubham.
I am using Creo Parametric - Release 4.0 (connected) 4.0 M050Is there a way to define default Creo Cabling wire name parameter?New wires had W0xx now have w-xx default names.
I'm just looking to hide the value of a specific parameter value in my drawing. For example, something along the lines of if asm_mbr_cagecode = "2233" then asm_mbr_cagecode=" " I have a few parts in my smart BOM that need this parameter hidden if they are a certain value.
When entering a dimension value in a family table, Excel warning window (Validation failed) pops up and says "double value required". What is a double value? Why does a dimension need a double value? Why is it required by excel? How to bypass this warning message?
hello, i needs a help!!! i am working on creo and VBA sendkeysn earlier. I used to do automate task using VBA send keys and unfortunately send keys not working any more in my office now. so my requirement is 1. generate a txt file from excel and save as notepad 2. that generated file used in creo pro program 3. then use multiple map key to done rest task 4. each time fetch new name from excel and save a new name and desired location this all procedure i need to do in thousands of file is that any way to do that without any external application because my office don't allow any other application to be installed. Thanks in Advanced
I am using Creo Parametric-Release 2.0 (connected) 2.0 M240 How does protookit traverse all the balloons in the drawing and get the number? Or distinguish whether there is a corresponding number balloon for a line of information in the repeated area?
Im using Creo 6.0.2 and a Thinkpad P53 with Nvidia Quadro RTX 3000 Whenever I enter the Render studio extension it takes many minutes to load, on the order of 5-10 minutes. Also when I actually click the Render button to start creating a render, it also takes many minutes to load, up until it works, Creo appears to be (Not Responding) to windows Anything that I can do to speed this workflow up? I am thinking it has to do with the real-time rendering turning on as soon as I enter Render Studio extension Thanks!
I am using Creo Parametric - Release 7.0 (connected) 7.0 7.0.2.0ProMdlOriginGet return only part of path that contain ASCII symbols. If model is stored in D:\QAD\цццццц then ProMdlOriginGet will return only D:\QAD
I am finding myself generating skewed geometry by having a starting CSYS and generating Front, Right and Top planes off of the CSYS for making sketches that are robust because of good perpendicular references. To do this takes a good chunk of time. Is there a quick way of adding a CSYS with it's 3 connecting planes? (Preferably with just 1 keystroke) I have a feeling that the suggested answer might be in developing a map key. Before I look at this I am wondering whether there might be perhaps another command that might already do this.
I am using Creo Parametric 6.0 6.0.4.0Every so often, completely random and can't reproduce, we have parts that the textures appear to break. This usually happens when a hole location is changed. If the part is saved, then the broken texture will carry through to assemblies. Simply making another change to the hole location will usually fix it.Here are the errors that I faced No error messages or warnings

Hi, I am trying to figure out what the problem is with my Toolkit. I have a toolkit (DLL) that I compiled using VS2010 and it works fine. Now I am trying to do some modification to it and compile it for Creo4. In the mean time change computer, so no more VS2010 installed. I get this message: Anyone can give me a hint on how to fix this? Here's some settings: The only change from my previous compile, id the Creo path change from Creo 2 to Creo4, and also the "protk_dll_NU.lib" was "protk_dll.lib". Thanks
TL/DR: exiting CP and re-opening it fixed the issue. But no idea why it happened in the first place. Using CP4 in part mode. Earlier today, for some reason, I couldn't drag features in the model tree to re-order them or the Insert Here to activate Insert Mode. I could select them, and RMB worked. And Reorder and Insert Mode worked through the Operations menu. Pretty darn inconvenient. And frustrating for a while. Ultimately I exited CP and re-launched. Then it was working again. Any idea what could have happened to break dragging in the model tree?
I am using Creo Parametric 7.0 7.0.3.0In a sheetmetal part, I do a flange with a rectangular relief, then i do a simmetry of the flange, if i change the relief from rectangular to another else the simmetry flange doesn´t change the relief, it´s keeps in rectangular relief, Why is the reason?
Hi Have a model which has been created in Creo 6.0.4.0 in which the user has created their sketch on a datum plane, then used that sketch to produce their revolve feature, which goes round full 360. The sketch was done on a datum plane called front (we changed our start part to have Front, Side and Top DTM planes). Then another feature is in the model which cuts out a groove which is 50 degrees wide, equi-spaced about the Front datum plane (ie 25 degrees each way). I have created an offset cross section on the Front datum, which also cuts through the original revolve feature, so that I can put the dimensions onto a view in the drawing. However, the dimensions from the sketch, which setup the original revolved feature, show in the view as though they were on the Front Dtm Plane as if the dimensions do not revolve around the part along the with revolve feature. This occurred a few revisions ago and was fixed. Now its seems like its back. Anyone a
