Hello, My company recently upgraded from WF2.0 to WF4.0 and we were pleased to find the built in Adobe file printer but quickly found that in printing the pdf's that a lot of the text formating was coming out wrong. It is most apparent with notes that are right justified, the pagination and spacing is all wrong. The default drawing text is 'font' and the pdf settings were to convert to true font. I played with it for a bit and found that if the font in the drawing was a true font, I used CG Triumvirate, then it would print the pdf perfectly. So my thought is to try and change the default drawing font to CG Triumvirate. I have been able to manipulate my settings and my config file so that when I create a new drawing it will indeed default to CG Triumvirate. The problem is that when I open up an existing drawing it still opens in the original font. My company has well over 40,000 drawings already in the PDM and we often create new drawings based off of old ones. Is there any way to chang
Hi, I have some doubt related to Sheet metal. While Creating sheet metal drawing using with material grade AISI 1018(MS), there is variation while comparing to creo sheet metal bending dimensions with manufacturing (output dimensions) How this variation happened? Because Dimension variation nearly 4.0 to 5.0mm more when comparing software to real time manufacturing , Can u people guide me or explain me how it happening? For Example : Blank Dimensions for both In drawing & Real time manufacturing : 97.3/97.5mm In Drawing (after bending) - Width :55.0mm x Height : 25.0mm , But In Real time manufacturing (After Bending) - Width : 59.0mm x Height 25.0mm. How ? Bending : In Drawing bending done in number stage or number stroke type( Because we never get blank dimensions while use forming tool type in creo) In Real time manufacturing done in forming type (Single Stage or stroke) Please guide us !
Hello, I have a problem about using pro/e toolkit to export points coordinate from Pattern。 Following is my program I have got the selected pattern id & handle ,how can i get points xyz coordinate in the pattern? Thanks and Regards Roger
I am standing up a new license server and after beating it in to submission so that it runs stably I am now encountering something that I do not understand. I am able to connect a session to the server and get a Creo Essentials II license but when I try to request an Engineer III license I get an "unable to connect to the license server" error. It is not a no licenses available error but a can't connect error. There are licenses available and if I drop back to just the II license it grabs one just fine. #################### FLOATING License ##################### Serviceable = Creo Engineer III# Feature Name = PROE_EngineerIII# Feature Version = 37.0# Number of Copies = 1# Expiration Date = permanent #################### FLOATING License ##################### Serviceable = Creo Essentials Team# Feature Name = PROE_EssentialsII# Feature Version = 37.0# Number of Copies = 4# Expiration Date = permanent Again, this is a new server. There are no clients attached
When I attach a Datum Feature Symbol to a drawing dimension (Creo 4, M030) and them move the symbol, one arrowhead of the dimesion I place the symbol on will disapear. After it's gone, there is no way that I can find to bring it back. Anyone else see this and have you come up with a workaround? (view in My Videos)
When there are multiple entities that come to a convergence it is difficult within a sketch to have the entities move in a reliable manner with changes. It is also difficult to know which constraints apply to which entity. Maybe this is really simple but it drives me nuts. Below is an example of a sketch convergence. Note that there are a number of point on entity constraints. converge There are at least 3 point on entity constraints as well as the point which gets used down stream. The magenta vertical line is a construction line. I need to be able to fix the convergence at the horizontal reference. The center point of the 2 angled lines needs to be at a distance from the vertical reference. The 2 angled lines needs to have their value driven from the central vertical reference. What would be nice is if everything that is converged only had one point of which the 2 angled lines only could move in the horizontal direction fixed o
hi, if any one has made use of toolkit function 'ProDocumentFileContentsRead' , please let me know if it can be used to read contents from text file .. Thank you
Hi, I have created a family-table that has some instances. Then I created a drawing of the generic and replaced it with one of the instances of the family-table. In this drawing I want to display the name of the current instance. I want to create a simple (no repeatregion) table that shows the instance name and the common name of the current instance: I tried the following: FamilyTableInstanceName: | &fam.inst.name I also tried &fam.inst.param.value and &fam.inst.param.name Creo recognizes the parameter as parameter, but no instance-name is displayed. I also tried to switch symbols, but it doesn't show any value. &fam.inst.param.value is automatically replaced with &fam.inst.param.value:1 and when I switch symbols it shows: fam.inst.param.value, but not the name of the instance. Displaying other parameters of the assembly like &length:1 w
Hello everybody, With Creo Parametric I have a config that through search path allows me to search for components in another folder (libraries) I put myself in the workbook, which inevitably contains about 1000 codes. The problem is that when the CAD does not find a model because it is in libraries, it takes an eternity to understand it before moving on to the library folder. It seems because there are so many files It's normal?? Do you want us to be the only ones working with folders with many codes and the search path?
Hi , I have created a ribbon manually. through my toolkit application i am creating a button using ProCmdActionAdd, ProCmdIconSet and ProCmdDesignate. But Iam not able to use same set of functions to create another button. i don get any error but no buttons are getting created . could any one please guide me on this?
I need guidance to pass the appropriate orientation to the CombState using OTK Java (for Creo 5) I am importing, manipulating, and saving files from our CoCreate software to Creo Parametric. The final step of manipulating these files is to change the listed Views to Combined States. I was originally attempting to retrieve the desired view before creating a combined state, but that obviously did not work. When creating a combined state manually, holding my mouse over the state name displays the Orient field: "Orient: Original_View_Front". However, when creating it in java, it appears as: "Orient: Most Recently Used". I create the CombState by using the three ModelItems 'DEFAULT REP', 'DEFAULT STYLE', and 'DEFAULT EXPLODED' (just because they were the ones selected when I created a state manually). What is the best method to pass the orientation data through to a combined state?
Using Creo 4.0 (no Windchill) I find that if I have the drawings open for (4) parts: A.drw, B.drw, C.drw, & D.drw and that these for parts are contained as instances in a family table of Generic - ABCD.prt, that when I verify the family table (and I get "Success" on all for instances A, B, C, & D) that when I go to any of the drawings, I need to regenerate the drawing to get rid of the little yellow dot. If I just verified the family table, why is the model in the drawing wanting to be regenerated? I am not doing this in the proper order in order? Sometime I regenerate the instance and save the drawing is says that the other instances have not been regenerated.
Hello, I am currently trying to run a static simulation inside Creo Simulate, but it fails to run with no indication as to why (See image). I am unsure about how to go about debugging the simulation (i.e. locations and names of error files). Any assistance would be welcomed. PS I am normally an ANSYS user.
Is CP4 compliant to ASME Y14.6 regarding the display of cosmetic threads ("simplified representation of threads")? See attached. A co-worker is really annoyed that the edges of the cosmetic thread's cylinder are displayed on drawings. There's no geometry there that would require a line in a drawing otherwise. We referred to ASME Y14.6 for guidance. Their drafters played a little fast-and-loose, so it wasn't helpful (who designs a chamfer or counter-sink to end exactly at the major/minor diameters, anyhow?). We messed around a little with drawings options to try to keep the hidden line representing the minor diameter, but eliminate the edges of the cylinder. In other words, we want only the silhouette of the cylinder surface to be visible, not the projections of the circular edges. Short of erasing those edges or doing other silly things, we couldn't figure it out. This wasn't helpful, either; it applies to sections, but the techniques aren't working for "no sec
i have created a drawing file(drw_1) and made copy of the file(drw_2) in same folder if i delete any of the dimesion or view in the copied file(ie., drw_2) creo automatically deletes the same in the source file(drw_1) is there any solution for this issue if so let me know that.
Hi , I have written the code to create a table in a drawing and add text in the table cells. the API's I am using to add text are : ProDwgtableTextEnter(table, colnum, rownum, text);ProDwgtableCelltextWrap(table, rownum, colnum); The issue I am facing is that the font of the text which is added to the table remains same. is there any way I can change the font size and thickness of the text ? Thanks and regards, Sekar
Hi, I get fatal error while launching CREO. I have attached the screen grab below. It runs fine when i 1st run my Auxiliary application. But when i close CREO and launch it again, i get this fatal Error. Some one please help me with this.
Hello! I'm having some issues with a note using sub and superscript, where the note cuts of the last 2 words of two sentaces. The sentances are as followed: {31:4) }{32:@+Make sure there is about 0.1 mm play between part 1 and the bracket it mounts to. @#}@-Eventual protruding ring on the opposite part shall be filed away. @# In this case, it removes the "mounts to." part of the sentence. Has anyone sumbled upon a similiar issue? Should this be reported to PTC as a bug? I'm running Creo 4. BR Jesper
Hi forum, how can I rotate a view about one of the three axes X/Y/Z? Note that I don't want to "transform" a part. I just want to rotate the entire view, as you normally do using the middle mouse button.
I'm using the CREO 3.0 M140 and this error is recurring. Could anyone help me? I'm sending the error log for analysis.thank you
Hi, I have a harness that contains 23 wires. The harness is approximately 6m long. It is initially bundled in two bundles, coming from two connectors, after about 1m it must transition to a "flat" bundle where they are routed together. This should follow a specific curve and at one point be coiled 4 turns before continuing flat. It then transitions to 23 tabs/connectors. Round bundling between two Locations is ok, but is it possible to have a flat bundle or route? I guess that the first wire can be routed along locations on my predefined curve, but how to I ensure that the remaining 22 wires follow the "flat" path that I want? Thanks
Hi,sometimes I need to convert a regular "prt model" in a Skeleton type model.Just not to lose all geometries and links I use this procedure (CREO2 ) :1 - Open assembly which contains the regular part that should be used as a skeleton part (name "PART2SKEL.PRT") .2 - In assembly Sel. Model / Create and I define a new skeleton type model ( named "TEMP_SKEL.PRT") using the option 'copy from existing' and choosing "PART2SKEL.PRT" as reference part in order to have all geometries already done.3 - I save the single part "TEMP_SKEL.PRT" to disk.4 - I close the assembly without saving and I erase everything from memory.5 - On the disk I rename the "TEMP_SKEL.PRT" to "PART2SKEL.PRT".6 - Open again the the assembly. The original part is replaced by the new skeleton art. 7 - In the model tree I can see the original part as skeleton with specific correct icon for skeleton (transparent). If necessary I can move the part on top of model tree.It works !Now the question :In Windchill (10.1) if I perfo
Hello everyone! When creating a section, some restrictions automatically appear in it (such as equality, parallelism, coincidence). One of these automatic restrictions prevents my section from becoming whole. Can I somehow create restrictions programmatically that I need and delete that are not needed? Best Regards!
Hi, I have a problem about the autogem control for mesh. For a big assembly, I prefer to make the AutoGem control at part level, then I just need to mesh at top assembly level, but don't need to control the mesh type and property it in top level assembly. But seem I cannot use the part level autogem control when I open the top level assembly. there is a warning tab at beside the mesh control type. Please teach me how to deal with it. The element type I used is Native element.
