In the first parts of this series, I talked about the value of having a Learning & Adoption Strategy in place early and discussing the questions of WHO and WHERE we should be informing and training. In today’s blog, I would like to take a close look at the learning and adoption timeline, the milestones, and discuss these in the context of the overarching implementation project plan. WHEN should we run our information and motivation campaigns and our trainings? In the past we have seen that implementation project plans have often been created without considering the learning and adoption work stream properly. Or, if a training work stream was considered, only generic tasks like “training” are added not aligned to other project work streams. It is important to consider Learning & Adoption tasks and milestones in the overall project plan right from the beginning. It’s one of the major mistakes in project plans seeing the “training” tasks only related to end-users and considering the

In my previous articles, we talked about the value of having an early Learning & Adoption Strategy in place and the question of who shall be trained. In this part of my little Learning & Adoption series, we will take a closer look at the users’ sites as an influencing factor of your strategy: WHERE does our staff need to informed, trained and supported? While your Learning & Adoption Strategy is being defined, you already need to look into the required resources. This might surprise you, but one of the most critical resources we are dealing with in training projects are the training rooms. In previous projects, we have often seen that training rooms are not available where needed. Or, if available, the rooms are already booked for months in advance. Not to mention the technical equipment which is sometimes insufficient. Often, corporate training rooms use discharged computers from the offices – which are most likely not sufficient to support hands-on trainings or wor
Several of our users and myself included have recently started getting this error message when we try to view one of the tutorials from Learning Connnector. It tells us to download the latest Flash Player and I have done this several times and I'm still getting the error message. Has anybody else encountered this issue or have a solution to this problem? Thanks in advance, Mike Heath
i am a beginner, i want to work with smaller dimensions but when I enter dimensions like 2in. , the 2in. line appears micro whereas i have seen tutorial videos in which the display automatically zooms in when smaller lengths are entered. i am using CREO 3.0 M020 educational edition.
In my previous blog, we already talked about the value of having a Learning & Adoption Strategy in place early. Today, we will talk about the people we would like to address with our strategy. In other words: Who needs to be informed and trained? At the time when a Learning & Adoption Strategy is defined and the major decisions for end-user communication and training are taken, some essential information is not yet available, such as detailed role descriptions for end-users or named user lists. But for estimating the end user needs the user profiles and the expected training duration need to be taken into consideration. This is essential in order to provide enough budget and resources but not to over calculate – and waste time and money. For calculating the end user needs without knowing their detailed roles user clusters are being used in a Learning & Adoption Strategy: User Cluster “Light Users” Ca. 30% of all end users (example from PLM projec
I recently posted on Linked In about Flipping the Classroom in the Enterprise and included some of our academic team's tips for success. If you are not familiar with the flipped classroom trend, you can catch up with my post below: Flipping the Enterprise Classroom – What’s the Flipping Idea? | Adrian La Sala | LinkedIn With Precision LMS and Custom eLearning libraries, it's fairly easy to reuse/repurpose our out-of-the-box content to flip the classroom. I was just curious if anyone in the community is flipping their enterprise classroom using Precision LMS eLearning, or perhaps in another way?
Just wondering if anybody can point me in the direction of a training course on PTC's LMS or anywhere else for showing/creating 3D model annotations. I understand the basics but would to know if there is training material available. Thank you. Regards, Neal
In practice it´s often seen that project plans, governance structures and even ROI calculations (Return on Investment) focus on hard facts, such as software cost, process benefits, implementation and customization efforts and rather neglect the “soft” topic of user adoption. So many projects initially do not consider the full efforts required for getting the users up to speed, and – likewise important – to get their buy-in for the new solution in order to avoid unnecessary downtime before and after the go-live which heavily impacts the expected value. Adding additional budget in the late project phases usually forces project managers to save effort and budget in other ways or limit adoption budgets to the minimum which heavily adds risks to the project success. In addition, important project milestones need to be moved out if the needs for user training are not considered early enough. This could even result in a delay of the go-live. Here are some reasons why
Hello,I tried to trajectory mill with 3 axes in PTC Creo 3.0 a contour (see image below) like in this tutorial explained:Tutorial: Using the User Interface for Trajectory MillingThe problem that occurs is that the cutter stays in z-direction at the reference plane and does not follow the contour in z-direction. It is only 2.5D milling and not 3D.Any idea how I can change this? Here's a screenshot of the settings:http://www.imgbox.de/users/public/images/5BEHscQJLI.JPGMany thanks for your help!

I'm excited that development work on PTC University Precision LMS 8.0 is complete and we're entering the final testing phase before release. Precision LMS 8.0 introduces a new capability for user self-registration. If you are a license administrator of Precision LMS, you can create and manage license activation codes. You can then send these codes to users whether or not they have an account on Precision LMS. The users can self-register in Precision LMS with the activation code and an account on www.ptc.com and Precision LMS will automatically be created and the license assigned. We've also streamlined and unified the Precision LMS login page to provide a much better user experience whether you are logging in with a password for eLearning, participating in an instructor-led training class, or self-registering with an activation code. I've posted a short 7 minute “sneak peek” demo video to PTC University Learning Exchange. I've looking forward to releasing Pr

Hi, guys, our company requested us to use Creo 3.0 recently, and we found below two issues very boring related to Creo drawing, anyone have any idea about how to solve them? Thanks.1. When we use Creo 3.0 to open the drawings that we created before by Creo 2.0 or older version, some letters becaome bigger, not suitable for the table anymore, see below picture, those letters are all within the table cells if we open the drawing by Creo 2.0, this is very boring, cause we have to change the font size one by one everytime if we need to update old drawings. 2. After we updated some content in a table cell, if we want to update some other content in other table cells, we found that we can not directly click the cell we want to update, have to click on some blank place a few times, really don't know how to use the new table & note edit method in the Creo 3.0, any way have a tutorial that can let me know how to use them? Thanks.
