Hi, I’m very new to PTC Creo, but I have used Autodesk Inventor before, so I have a good understanding of the process involved.I have a question regarding reuse/modification of a fairly simple model. The model is a Gearwheel, boss with taper, 2 side plates connecting the boss and the gearwheel and 4+ holes, with a bushing.So my question is, how can I automate this as much as possible, the gear do not need to be correct, it just have to look like tooth’s. So I’m looking for a way to make the model easy to reuse, change a few important dimensions, and patterns.So I’m looking for help/guide/tutorial that covers this, or if someone could help a newbie onto the correct path. My company is using Skeleton-models, so I want to continue with that.

Hi,I have a student version of Creo and am having significant difficulty learning the program. The PTC learning exchange appears to have been arranged completely at random, making progression through a tutorial style system incredibly difficult. As far as I can find, there is no alternative tutorial system provided by PTC or affiliates that guides a new user through the program and how to operate it. As a comparison, the Autodesk Inventor "learning resource" seems well structured and logical in it's approach, at least on initial review.Is there a progressive tutorial system available for Creo 2.0 that I have missed, which is able to teach me how to use the program and it's features?As background, I have used both 2d and 3d CAD packages previously, mostly Rhino and Autocad, neither of which is a parametric modeler. Hello Eeveryone. I am new to creo in general and have just started the PTC online training for Simulate.My boss has me working on a project and wants me to run some structual FEA on some parts.I was following along ok through the training material until it came to the "AutoGEM" command. I do not have a button on my ribbon for this when i open the part that i want to run the analyses on. If i open a new file or bring in a simple block model, the AutoGEM is back....Any ideas on where my AutoGEM is going? Using AutoGEM is the only way the training material shows creating the mesh, so i am kind of lost until i figure this out. The attached screen shot shows that the AutoGEM button is gone from the ribbon, replaced by the Mesh button.Thank you in advance for your help!

Training is relationship counseling. No, we are not going totally nuts here, but as it is Friday, a little more lighthearted post won’t hurt!   While doing my regular social media check this morning, I ran into an image on the Engineering page on Facebook. If you are using Facebook, you will recognize it. On your profile, you can enter your relationship status – married, single, etc.   The team who run the Engineering page, posted this picture:   So my questions are:   Who feels like they are married to their jobs? Who cannot stop thinking about your work or take their work to bed at night? Who sometimes fights over little, daily tasks?   So if you compare being in engineering to being in a relationship, then what we do on the training side is truly relationship counseling, as we help you to reduce the daily hick-ups and have your work run smoothly.   Agree?   Have a good weekend!   Bettina

Hello PTC Community,This is my first thread and i have no idea were to post, i just got lost in my rendering problem and had to ask someone to help me, i hope someone will help me here.So i have a part, went through this rendering tutorial and i started rendering with an output of an .jpeg file. I had maximum on all options and i've set all parameters and lights and scenes as i pleased.Now this messege showed up just when i clicked "Render window". I have no idea why, i have no idea what i've pressed...By the way, i have the student version PTC wildfire 5.0 installed. Happy New Year!   I hope many of you are planning to take training in 2014 and we will see you in one of our classes.   I recently talked about the added value that comes with our instructor-led training courses. Hi,I'm hoping some of you guys might be able to give me some ideas how to progress my career. Since finishing my A levels last June I have been working with Creo 2.0 and really enjoyed making progress. I've had a temporary contract at a large company in Loughborough who were kean on keeping me but have since started to struggle for work and my job has been squeezed out. Having spent the last couple of weeks on their production line I am now absoluelty desperate to get back into CAD.Do any of you guys know where I could get on a course in Creo or a placement that offers training etc?I live in Nottingham and currently work in Loughborough but anywhere within the East Midlands would be great.Any advice would be appreciated.ThanksTom

Do you believe in the concept of lifelong learning? We do too!   However, for someone who has been around as long as Santa, it is hard to find something he doesn’t know yet. Still, he might appreciate the opportunity to gain some new skills and stay on top of the latest technology to get his work done faster and more efficiently.   Maybe he would like a class on "Toy Design with PTC Creo"?   Or, with PTC Creo 3.0 scheduled for release in 2014, an update training might be a good idea. With his tough work schedule each year, he wants to make sure to get up to speed with the new version quickly!   Or a tutorial on how to design an automatic feeder for his reindeer?   Can you think of any courses that might help Santa? Hi guys,I've been working with cabling application on ProE and I was able to modify an existing harness very easily.But, since the new Creo version was released, I'm having a few issues rerouting the bundles and wires. For example:- in ProE wf4, I could delete a portion of a bundle and reroute it in a new connector or location.- now, in Creo, the reroute command is only for changing the path of the bundle/wire by adding new locations between its ends.My questions are: How can I reroute the bundles in Creo, to a new connector?and are there any advance training materials for the new Creo Cabling application?Thank you in advance

Hey there,does anyone know how to use the directives in the training files (.txa), that are made from trail files?I tried to create a training file that shows how to create a cube. I wanted the user to input the name of the object and enter the dimensions. I followed the instructions from the creo help but I didn't get the user to input the dimensions or the filename.Any help is appreciated.Greetings from GermanyJens

I have downloaded your “Creo Elements / Direct Modelling express” and now I am busy with the tutorial from the start up screen. I realize that this is your “lite” version but would like to ask about the “Structure Position”command, the tutorial first align the axis and then mate the face of the wheel to the trolley axis, but I see the axis on the trolley moved out of position. I used the “Structure Position” command to align the trolley with its axis, but then the axil move out of position from the wheel that I just positioned. So my question is, the “Structure Position” command position parts, but it does not constrain or fix the part in that position? Is there another command to constrain the part in position?

Hey all,I'm a young gun engineer, graduated last year. I've been using Pro/E and CREO for 5 years now and i really want to get to know how to use CAM software. My job uses Pro/Toolmaker for CAM and we don't have any formal training available. I know that everything is moving towards Pro/NC but is there any resources where i can learn the basics for Pro/Toolmaker? I haven't been able to find any so it makes blindly going into it that much harder.Thanks!Jared

Hello,May be it seem very easy task to do but beginner like me in Creo 2.0 need your help. Please if anyone knows how I can measure torque, when apply force on leaver arm. I am sure there will be a very straight forward way to do it so please help me. Actually I want to simulate for a 4 links robotic arm with 4 rotational joints and I want to know if robotic arm lift 2 kg load from robotic arm end-effector then how much torque I need to has for my joint actuators. Will Static and dynamic analysis help me?Please answer me or refer me to any document or tutorial. Looking forward for your help
