Hi guys,I've been working with cabling application on ProE and I was able to modify an existing harness very easily. But, since the new Creo version was released, I'm having a few issues rerouting the bundles and wires. For example:- in ProE wf4, I could delete a portion of a bundle and reroute it in a new connector or location.- now, in Creo, the reroute command is only for changing the path of the bundle/wire by adding new locations between its ends.My questions are: How can I reroute the bundles in Creo, to a new connector?and are there any advance training materials for the new Creo Cabling application?Thank you in advance
Note: This article was originally posted in my personal blog here on PTC Community, but as we are in full planning mode for PTC Live Global in June where we offer 2-hour training sessions, too, I thought it would be a good idea to repost it here! **** Have you ever attended a training session at one of our PTC Live events? If so, I hope you found the information valuable and plan to attend future sessions. If not, let me give you a quick overview of what is available to you. At PTC Live Global, PTC Live Stuttgart and the PTC Live Tech Forum events that we run globally each year, PTC University offers two-hour training sessions to the attendees at no cost. Can you really learn much in such a short time? And can you really expect formal training when the session is entirely free? In other words, what is the value of these sessions? Each session is an excerpt of our standard curriculum, focusing on a clearly defined topic to fit the two-hour timeframe.
Hey there, does anyone know how to use the directives in the training files (.txa), that are made from trail files?I tried to create a training file that shows how to create a cube. I wanted the user to input the name of the object and enter the dimensions. I followed the instructions from the creo help but I didn't get the user to input the dimensions or the filename.Any help is appreciated.Greetings from GermanyJens
Halloween is just a week away, so have you picked your costume yet? Carved any pumpkins with the kids? Though Halloween is definitely not a German tradition, it is getting more widely celebrated around here too, and I must say I love a little bit of spooky adventure once in a while. Not at work though. At work – and I think everyone will agree – we don’t like panic, last minute fires or bad surprises of any kind. What is the one thing YOU fear most at work? Is it having to deal with large assemblies? Is it having to use functionality you are usually not using and you are not so familiar with? Is it having to upgrade your CAD program and not being familiar with the new interface yet? For many of the above, we at PTC University can help. A lot of uncertainty and "surprises" can be avoided by training the users to use their software tools in the most efficient way to avoid mistakes and delays. We also offer training beyond the picks and clicks in the form of Best Practice Academy cl
Hi, Can anyone send me the link or any pdf regarding the piping tutorial of cre2.0.
Have you ever attended one of our PTC University training classes or are you planning to do so shortly? Here’s a quick list of things we recommend you to bring along. A bottle of water Stay well hydrated at all times to make sure your brain can keep up with the abundance of new knowledge. A snackWe suggest healthy brain food, such as bananas or a few nuts. But some of you might prefer chocolate. In any case you need an intake of energy to be able to concentrate. Comfortable clothesYou will be sitting in a training room for a few hours and you want to make sure you feel comfortable. There is probably nothing more distracting than a shirt collar that is too tight. Business cardsYou will be meeting peers from other companies and certainly have plenty of good conversations. Why not exchange contact information so you can continue talking? Most importantly of all: Bring your QUESTIONS!!!Instructor-led classes are the most interactive type of training you can get. Be face-to-face with an i
I have downloaded your “Creo Elements / Direct Modelling express” and now I am busy with the tutorial from the start up screen. I realize that this is your “lite” version but would like to ask about the “Structure Position”command, the tutorial first align the axis and then mate the face of the wheel to the trolley axis, but I see the axis on the trolley moved out of position. I used the “Structure Position” command to align the trolley with its axis, but then the axil move out of position from the wheel that I just positioned. So my question is, the “Structure Position” command position parts, but it does not constrain or fix the part in that position? Is there another command to constrain the part in position?
Hey all,I'm a young gun engineer, graduated last year. I've been using Pro/E and CREO for 5 years now and i really want to get to know how to use CAM software. My job uses Pro/Toolmaker for CAM and we don't have any formal training available. I know that everything is moving towards Pro/NC but is there any resources where i can learn the basics for Pro/Toolmaker? I haven't been able to find any so it makes blindly going into it that much harder. Thanks!Jared

I am sure there will be a very straight forward way to do it so please help me. Actually I want to simulate for a 4 links robotic arm with 4 rotational joints and I want to know if robotic arm lift 2 kg load from robotic arm end-effector then how much torque I need to has for my joint actuators. Will Static and dynamic analysis help me?Please answer me or refer me to any document or tutorial. Looking forward for your help

Hello, I'd like to know if it is possible to become an independent certified trainer, and what would this involve ? i have over 15 yrs. experience with ProE starting with version 18 to Wildfire 4 and Creo. Thank you very much.
I was watching the tutorial on learning connector for creating knurling on a cylindrical surface (http://learningexchange.ptc.com/tutorial/2528/create-knurling-on-a-cylindrical-surface) when I realized there is a faster method for completing this. Once the initial patterned helical sweep is completed, rather than creating another idependent feature and pattern, it is possible to simply create a plane that divides the cylinder along a horizontal plane and mirror about that. Alternatively if the original extrusion is done symetric about the top plane, one can simply mirror the feature about the top plane. This will save a little time and has the added benefit of the entire knurling feature being defined by a single profile as opposed to two independent profiles. I attached a video below to clarify what I mean by mirroring about the midplane. Hope this helps out a few people!

HiI am trying to get the lens flare effect. I am using Creo Elements and have the Photolux license. Some old tutorials show a properties menu for the effects tab, but I cannot find it.There was a menu call 'Environment Editor' it has Light Effect: Light Scatter, Fog, Visible lights lens flare and Hidden lights lens flare. These effect files are saved as .den.The following images were taken from the old tutorial. This is the current Effects tab in the Scenes menu.So I can use the Options=> Import and select a lens flare.den file from an archive file I have. But that's as far as I can get.As best I can tell when Pro E changed to the Mental ray 3.7+ render all the previous effects are no longer available.Your help is most welcome. Thanks Dan
