I was watching the tutorial on learning connector for creating knurling on a cylindrical surface (http://learningexchange.ptc.com/tutorial/2528/create-knurling-on-a-cylindrical-surface) when I realized there is a faster method for completing this. Once the initial patterned helical sweep is completed, rather than creating another idependent feature and pattern, it is possible to simply create a plane that divides the cylinder along a horizontal plane and mirror about that. Alternatively if the original extrusion is done symetric about the top plane, one can simply mirror the feature about the top plane. This will save a little time and has the added benefit of the entire knurling feature being defined by a single profile as opposed to two independent profiles. I attached a video below to clarify what I mean by mirroring about the midplane. Hope this helps out a few people!

I have an ambitious engineer that's working thru the WF4 tutorials. This is the material available in WF4 under Help > Online Resources. Unfortunately, the tutorials refer to sample files that we cannot find.Does anyone know where to find the sample files for WF4 Help tutorials? I did a quick search of ptc.com without any luck.Thanks,-TerTerrence McFallCAD Systems AdministratorVarian Medical Systems911 Hansen WayPalo Alto, CA 94304650-424-6039 desk650-799-0179 cell

Good day to all and Happy New Year! Please advise if there are any direct cources/seminars of Pro E in Greece/Athens OR any online courses that I can take and finally get a Certification for parametric design/modelling . In addition, in order to attend direct or online courses should I swift to Creo product or I can stay with Pro Engineer v5.0? Thanks in advance!

HiI am trying to get the lens flare effect. I am using Creo Elements and have the Photolux license. Some old tutorials show a properties menu for the effects tab, but I cannot find it.There was a menu call 'Environment Editor' it has Light Effect: Light Scatter, Fog, Visible lights lens flare and Hidden lights lens flare. These effect files are saved as .den.The following images were taken from the old tutorial. This is the current Effects tab in the Scenes menu.So I can use the Options=> Import and select a lens flare.den file from an archive file I have. But that's as far as I can get.As best I can tell when Pro E changed to the Mental ray 3.7+ render all the previous effects are no longer available.Your help is most welcome. Thanks Dan

Where do I finf the Primer tutorial?
I am trying to learn how to use the Tolerance Analysis tool since I just realized my company has a floating license for it. So far I have been unable to understand how to use this tool and I can't find any good tutorials to point me in the right direction. Just for reference, I am trying to analyze the stackup in 3 plates that are bolted together in a non-symetric pattern so I need to take into account the hole tolerances and the placement tolerances. I have tried to use the axis for each hole to define the chain/loop for the stackup, but it doesn't work as expected. Can anyone point me to a tutorial that could help (other than the electric motor analysis)?
I am trying to find basic training for the Manikin library, but it would appear that it doesn exist. I have looked on the Precision LMS site, searched the PTC "find training" tool, and even searched around on Google. Can anyone here tell me where I could get training or at least find a tutorial?
I can't import DWG because modelling is telling me that annotation in not in metric Please someone could tell me how to do that? There is also a good tutorial to understand DWG/DXF import? Many thanks in advance.
Do anyone know of a good ProMechanica Thermal tutorial for PCB modeling? Please someone help me with directing me to a sample tutorial link to model a simple PCB with some components on them in ProMechanical, Thermal. I like to do a simple analysis with board temperature and gradient mapping, component and junction temperatures and to analyze those temperatures which exceed their respective limits etc.Thankyou, Kevin.
Our company is a new Pro Engineer customer. One of the reasons we decided to go with Creo Parametric is that we have seen the capability of it in placing rounds that meet at the partingline that cross dis-similar drafted halves.Unfortunately we've not been able to duplicate this on our own. It appears there is much versatility that our Precision LMS training does not cover in regards to Transitions. When placing the round we are able to get 1 set per side to drop in, but they do not meet at the partingline. The given transition options don't appear to include anything that meets appropriately at the partingline. If I'm not mistaken you should be able to get rid of the unwanted transitions and add your own custom transitions. We have tried using variable radii to get a closer match to each side, but this didn't give any new transition possibilities and the given ones still don't work.It would be nice to be able to just drag an edge to meet the edge from the opposite side of the partingline
Steve Meyers, Learning Principal for PTC University, runs through 5 cool things he discovered in Creo Parametric. Look and feel of the software i.e. ribbon user interface, model tree/embedded browser toggle, Quick selection of edges, vertices or surfaces Streamline entry into the sketcher Sticky right-mouse button menus Shortcuts leading to fewer mapkeys Watch this less than 2 minute introductory tutorial of Creo Parametric. What cool things have you found in Creo? Discuss it here.
Is there any user guide/tutorial available for Pro-Engineer Wildfire 5.0?Thanks
I need some help with making a 2D drawing from a 3D model. When I follow the instructions in the tutorial I always get my drawing turned 30 degrees off axis. Can anyone tell me where the setting is to control this? I've attached a JPG to show what I am getting.
