Kepware

Hi We are trying to connect new PLCs to a kepware server. The PLCs are Omron CP1L and CJ2M models. We already had one CJ2M PLC connected to ignition and it is already working, but it's the only one working. Wen we try to connect them directly to Ignition it works and we can read tags. On ignition we are using the default values for the nodes. Why would it not work on kepware? Sometimes one of the test PLC we were adding to Kepware worked but it caused the already working CJ2M PLC to stop working. So it seems we can only connect one Omron PLC at all time on kepware. I saw a documentation that talked about multihoming on the host server, would that be worth a shot or is there something I'm missing? Note that all PLC are on a separate IP address and channel on Kepware. Also, Ignition and Kepware are running on the same server.  

I would like to show on the dashboard that how many devices are connected and out of those devices how many are communicating over KEPServerEX 6.9.

Hi Team,We are using kepware V 5.14 and ODBC driver and receiving the error.Error - "Unable to connect to data source on channel__,Device"--" (reason: 'Memory allocation failure').

i need to log data that trying to send to stored procedure that may case of issue 

Getting the error while activating my licence , any one have any idea ? Please help ?  Before upgrade have transferred my licence back to kepware, i can see my licence are stage there. but the same failing to active post upgrade.  Thanks in advance. 

Hello Team, We want to synchronize two Kepware project Automatically for Redundancy purpose, In PTC Knowledgse base we have checked the  Article CS353352 (https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article/CS353352) Where they have mentioend this below line. Workaround: use a batch script to copy the .opf from one system to another, and then through the Config API call the endpoint to replace the projectFor that Your help require if nay sample or example or any reference link is available how to make Batch file for Kepware *.opf file?  As I know this active Backup file run on System Program data Folder. what kepserver version should i use for windows 7?, i tried to install kepserver 6.15but it say doesn't support

Hi, how can i fix this on Kepserver  one or more features are time limited  i tried to restart, stop reset service and remove everything and make new device and connection again but still have same problem i use free version and i have used before, some months ago and i had not any problem how can i fix it thanks in advance      

The Screenshot is from "Yabe" and here i can see the values of the childs (e.g. Device 2006 - 2). In the KepserverEX (6.9.584.0) I am only able to autgenerate the items for Device 2002, all others (childs) are not generated. Any idea  ?   

Hello  I have a local instance of Kepware (V6.9.572) on my Laptop to which I want to connect a scanner device. I have a Honeywell scanner which interfaces with my laptop using USB port. I want to connect this USB port to Kepware and obtain the scanned data as a string input. Is this possible to do? Thanks in advance

Hi,    I'm trying to make a remote connection between a OPC client to a OPC server (Kepware).   On the server side, after adding the device and channel (OPC-DA), I was able to find and import the tags from the client, but they all show that the quality is "Bad" and also have no value. On the other hand, when I add the tags directly in Kepware's tag management (OPC quick client), I can observe the tags and see that they're value is changing. I ve tried dcom configuration but i am already in same pc. In short, I have a connection with the client, I'm just unable to receive any value when I add the tags through the device connection I’ve set up in Kepware.

Good morning, I've connected a pulse counter from a volumetric meter to KepServerEX. In the Datalogger, I've set up data logging for the counter in SQL Server, and I would like to also include the average flow rate between two pulses. I'm having trouble finding solutions, do you have any ideas?

We installed KEPServerEX 6.14.263.0 on a customers VM last year and they now say it's getting flagged by their antivirus software. Not sure what they are using but wondering how often this happens and if installing the latest version will help?

I have added a number of tags to the device. But when I open the quick client, I get an Unknown value and Bad quality. This is for an Omron PLC and the addresses are like GSR_NXTC.S_READ.AS_TC[0].S_CH[0].N_PV. Also, when I click on "Launch Quick Client Here" I get 5 times as many tags as I want. I have to delete unwanted tags. But if I make a change they all come back. There are 53277 items. I only need about 30 of them. All the other stuff is un-needed. Is there another way to handle editing? It doesn't appear to be able to be done from the Quick Client. KepserverEx 6.14 

Hi, I tried alot to connect the subject PLC with serial port to kepserver, but its not responding. Though its works with FX Cpu but not with q series PLC with serial port.when i select the series and whatever it select the default setting for serial port are different from the setting in the programming software GX works-2. with by default setting its not communicating, while if i change the communication parameters as i set in the programming software, then it give error for device not responding."Date Time Level Source Event29/04/2024 22:57:16 Warning Mitsubishi Serial Channel1.Device1 | Device is not responding. | ID = '0'.". Seems like kepserver 6.6 is not support q series serial port driver. Please help me.

KEPServerEX 6.15V6.15.132.0I have multiple ODBC values that show correctly in quick client but the sim tags they are linked to keep changing to negative values. The SIM tags will eventually show correctly but this behavior isn't expectable for my use case. For the life of me I cannot figure out what's going on here..

I am using Canary Labs Historian to collect opc data from KEPserver. I am experiences issues where we get NoData due to the fact that Canary is receiving messages with out of order sequence numbers (off by 1). Canary thinks this is an issue on the KEPserver sid. What could cause this and is there a configuration setting that could help alleviate this?

Hello,     I am sorry for this simple question. I want to know is there any configuration to be made on KEPServerEX or Allen Bradley PLC side to write tag values from KEPServer to the Allen Bradley PLC.   In my project data is being stored in database from a KEPServer using a Data logger. Some data from the PLC will be read and stored in the Database and some data we need to write from DB to the PLC. I want to the configurations required to write data to the PLC from DB. Thanks, in advance.

I have an OPC DA client (Citect) writing a value to a PLC via Kepware. The value written is 1, 2 or 3 and once the PLC has seen this, it resets the value back to 0. This works fine.The problem I have is that Citect never sees the value reset to 0 and the value in Citect 'sticks' at 1, 2 or 3. I can however see that in Kepware (via Quick Client) the value is 0. It appears that Kepware is not giving an update to the Citect OPC client.If I restart Citect, the value is successfully read as 0 (presumably because Kepware will then provide a general refresh of all tags to Citect). Is it possible for Kepware to get confused when a tag has two new values in quick succession? (0 to 1 and then 1 to 0) i.e. It sends the first change to the OPC client but not the second change.I have seen something similar with another OPC server in the past where it would forget to send the second update. 

Hi, I tried to connect between KepserverEx V6 with my omron CP2E-N but when I read the value in OCP client it always return Bad quality. I don't know why, and where I went wrong. Below is my config. Please help me. Thank you very much  

Hi there, I am trying to set up some simulation tags to do some testing on software we are writing. I have a series of INT values that I need to write, (one every minute) but I need the simulation to start at midnight... so that is when I want the first value in the chain to be written. I have set up a USER (6000,......) tag, but the value starts when I created the tag, and I can't find any way to start it at a specific time. Is that possible?
