Hello,For a Mathcad calculation I am trying to make use of an IF statement in Mathcad 15. At the top of the sheet I ask the user of the sheet whether they want calculation "A" or "B" through a List Box Control. I have set name "A" to correspond with value "0", and name "B" to correspond with value "1". This value is then stored as follows:Then further down in the Mathcad sheet, I want to make an IF program that calculates a function in one of two ways, depending on the value of Storage. I tried to make it like this, but that did not work:Does any of you have tips for me on how to do this? I know that what I am currently doing makes no sense in Mathcad language, but I think it best illustrates my problem. Thanks in advance!Tim
My computer died and I am trying to re-install Mathcad 14 with Windows 10. I am getting many error messages (many for help files which seem to be where they are supposed to be but the install program cannot find). But the error I could not get past wasERR 1904.ModuleC:\Program Files(x86)\MathCad\MathCad14\mcformsr.ocx failed to register HRESULT-2147220473Any help would be appreciated.
I am trying to update a bunch of Mathcad 14 sheets to Prime 3.0, and I know Prime 3.0 does not have drop down menus like Mathcad 15 does. Is there any other function on Prime 3.0 that can serve the same function? I have attached a Mathcad sheet that I need to update to Prime 3.0 that has drop down menus, any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks,Matt
hi,im trying to make the jump from excel to prime for good.im trying to find how to create data from a table. In a very basic example if I create a 2 by 3 table with 1, 2 and 3 in the first two columns, how in mathcad do I calculate a third column that would return for example the multiplication of column 1 and 2 (appreciate this is actually column 0 and 1?in excel I would have typed =A1*B1 and dragged down through column C. Then I could do things like evaluating the sum of any column or row. Looking to see how this is acheived in mathCaD. If there is an existing tutorial on this id appreciate being pointed in the right direction.cheers, andy ps on my phone which is why this message looks like it's written by a child.
HiI am unable to calculate inverse of the matrix. The result is taking accuracy upto 3 decimal places. Even I tried to change decimal precision from "Math Formatting Option but the error become unchanged. "Please find given image and attached file for your reference. for your reference:
Hi EveryonePlease help me to add row of any Matrix array. I am able to add individual but in my example case I am unable to do so. Please help in this regard.Find attached sheet for your reference.
Hi guys,I need to plot some raw data (experimental) and a function representing a model on the same set of axes in order to compare accuracy of the model relative to the experimental data. I am able to plot each one on separate axes without any problem, however when I try to add the vector containing the raw data to the y axis of a plot of the function, I get an error that states "the value must be real".Please advise on how to resolve this.
Using the root function, I have plotted a graph to show the I-V characteristic of a PV cell which is characterised by the implicit equation:I=Iph-Io [exp((q(V+IRs))/akT)-1]- (V+IRs)/RshVarying any of the parameters within the equation is expected to affect the I-V characteristic in a particular way. The plotted graphs takes on the expected shape but when I try to change the value of temperature, the plot shifts in an unexpected direction. Increasing temperature should lead to a decrease in open-circuit voltage and thus decrease in output power, but the model I've plotted suggests the opposite i.e. an increase in temperature leads to an increase in open circuit voltage which contravenes PV theory. Short circuit current (current when V=0) has a (slight) positive temperature coefficient while open circuit voltage (voltage when I=0) has a negative temperature coefficient. In contrast, when I vary other parameters like , Iph, Io , Rsh and Rs, the results are consistent with PV theory e.g. in
Hello All,I need some help with MathCAD Prime 3.1. I have a solution on page 3 that I would like to reference on page 1. Is there a way to do that? Please help!

Hello everyone,I have the differential equation m∙x ̈+C∙x ̇+k∙x=0 and i know only the mass, do you know if there is a way to find the coefficients C and K? do you think this can be solved with odesolve if i declare some initial conditions?
Hello,I need to solve a system of simultaneous equations to find reference parameters for a PV model. I have entered the same set of equations in Mathcad 15 and Mathcad prime 3.0. As far as I can see the equations are exactly the same in both worksheets. The problem I'm having is that Mathcad 15 is not returning an answer although I get a solution in Mathcad prime 3.0. I would like to resolve the issue in Mathcad 15 as I need to plot graphs and do some further analyses using functionality that is available in Mathcad 15 but not prime. I also have no way of telling which algorithm Mathcad Prime 3.0 applied to return the solution so I can't even replicate that in Mathcad 15.I also noticed that if I change the guess values in prime and then change back to original guess values that returned a solution, sometimes mathcad prime 3.0 doesn't return a solution also, no idea why. (Note that for a valid solution 1<a<2 but when I include this constraint mathcad prime 3.0 won't return
Hello everyone !I'm new Mathcad user and do not have much practice with the tool. I would like to help. Can anyone help me solve this problem with Mathcad? To determine the frequency of oscillation of the pendulum harmonic figure next toData :m = 5 KgK1 = 50 N/mK2 = 130 N/mmR = 10 kgR = 1,2 m Applying the solution by the energy equation methodSimply:Deriving and operating:Replacing variables:Simply:The expression of the natural frequency is thus:Thanks!

Hi. I'm using MathCAD Prime 3.1.How do I type in temperature units °C or °F ? I know you can click on "Units" on the "Math" tab. But I'm hoping for a simple and faster way to type it in.There is probably a very simple answer to this question, but an hour of banging my head against the desk has not helped me find it.So, if i am trying to write "50°C" I try typing: 50 Alt248 C =This gives "50°•C=0.87*C"Hmm..., so it thinks I want degrees and then Coulombs.I tried many things after this and finally found a rather long way:50 * " Alt248 C RightArow Delete LeftArrow LeftArrow Delete =This gives me the correct answer: "50°C=323.15K" Does anyone know of a faster way to type it in?
I am trying to solve a set of equations using Given and Find. I wish to define some boundary conditions. Eg. I may wish to limit some answers to a range between 0 and 1 or limit some values to positive numbers numbers. I don't know how. Your help will be appreciated. File is attached.Basically I am using current and voltage data from relays at both ends of a line to find a fault location. If we limit all values to real and M is between 0 and 1 The expected answer for U is about 0.75 - 0.76.
This worksheet will give the design of in-line cavity resonator used in my oscillator 45-years ago. The tube was 5893-pencil type or 2C40-lighthouse type. At that time there was no Mathcad available and it shows the difficulties in calculations without Mathcad. Later designs were based on microwave semiconductors based on Y/S parameters or Bessel functions for low phase noise. Enjoy reading.
This is an issue that I encountered earlier when I was taking an electronics technology course. Obviously, what is meant by a vector in Mathcad is not the same as what is meant by a vector in my physics text. Now, I'm sure that there is some system for manipulating and using polar coordinates, but to the best of my knowledge polar coordinates and vectors are not the same thing. Polar coordinates, by definition, do not have x-components and y-components. To resolve them would take as much work as resolving a vector. Isn't there some "inline" method of vector addition and subtraction so I don't have to keep resolving them?I have some (very basic) grasp of user defined functions. Is that the way to go here? Also, is there some way to typeset vector notation? (the horizontal arrow above the letter)?
Hello to all, I hope I can get some help here. I created a worksheet in mathcad for variational method.Actually I am know only the basic about mathcad. In my worksheet , the minimization couldnot be able to do, it take too much of time to do the minimization. Finally I am not able to get the answer. So please see my attachement and help me to get the answer. Thank you
Hello, Everyone. The Question is : How to solve vector v with elements are whole numbers ? Thanks in advance for your time and help. Best Regards.
In the picture that I have added to this post there is an assignment where I have added four vectors. In method one i have the lenght and a angle, but can I convert it to a coordinate? In method two I have the opposite problem my result Fres is a coordinate but can i convert it to a lenght and an angle?
Hi Mathcad'ers,It's been quite a few years since I last worked with Mathcad, and I don't remember if/how Mathcad could solve a system of equations with intermediate variables. The sheet that I have put together results in an error for undefined variables if I do not place guess values for the intermediate variable. Do I need to put a guess value for these? If I do set a guess value, I get an error that "this value must be a function".What's the best way of addressing this? The details for the sheet are:I would like to determine a,b,o,and q as a function of g and s (inputs).l,t, and p are constants.j,o1,o2,b1,b2 are intermediate variables. Thanks for the help,Raphael
