Did PTC decide that Mathcad 11 single user edition is not going to be registered online anymore?I did a reinstall on my computer with a copy I bought new. Mathcad 11 works fine and I am not willing to pay for a new edition.How do I register my copy, or is PTC offering a free upgrade with a supported activation line?

This seems odd. I'm using a program to drop values into matrices.  It works wonderfully - until I get to a matrix 16 items long.  Then I get an error.   Here's a rather pointless example.  Suffice it to say it happens regardless of how many variables I return, or whether or not I use a matrix inside the program.  Tried it a bunch of ways to only get the same result: Exceed 16 rows and get an error. I have a few questions for our resident experts.  I am working on a sheet that I'd like to have use multiple solve blocks.  The first block feeds results to the second block.  While I can do it - I wonder if there isn't a simpler way.  It's rather cumbersome to set everything up this way.     I'm also curious about how MC works in regards to solving - as it seems sluggish.  Is MC solving the same solve block over and over every time I call the functions (e.g. When I solve for L(alpha) and K(alpha) does it solve the 2nd block twice and the first block 4 times)?     Here's a picture of a very simplified version.  MC4.0 attached.  (note: actual sheet is 18 pages with dozens of variables and I'm using multiple blocks because using one block has become unmanagable.  It also allows me to use existing calculation templates without merging calculations.)       Is there a better way? Hi,   I have to calculate the deflection of a shaft with some different loads. (a couple of Forces and line-loads like in the sketch below). The diagram of forces and bending moments i could calculate completely, but when setting up the boundary conditions and the ODE it's running into an error. Boundary conditions should be taken from the function for the bending moment.   Although i think i have set up all conditions completely, i can't display/calculate the deflection anyway. I think it's because of the forces which act at particular lengts and their definition in the solve blocks but i have no idea whats wrong.   Has somebody an idea? Thank you very much!   EDIT: I see more and more problems solving in good old MC15 hoping it lasts running for a long time.

Hello folks, MathCAD Prime 3.0 novice user here with a question. I am trying to duplicate example 51.4 from Lindeburg to determine the pressure resulting from a shrink fit betwen two cylinders. I have attached a .PDF of the problem. I have also attached a coply of my MathCAD Prime 3.0 file which I am struggling with.   To me, the problem involves solving a system of equations for "P". I have put the entire problem into a solve block but I am not sure if this is the correct approach. The three regions of the solve bloc "Guess Values", "Contraints", and "Solver" regoins seem to run together.   Any advice would be appreciated.   Best regards,   Bill

I have achieved it using the Implicit Method, but when I use the Explicit Method (Central Difference Method) I get the message that there is a floating point error. Hello!About a week ago I've received the following problem:   You have a ground fixed punch bag (resting on a spring that's attached to a counterweight).What is the minimum sensor setup in order to determine: the force of the punch in the bag acceleration of the punch the speed of the punches (for multiple punches) Notes: no sensor must be attached to the person punching the bag, only on the bag bag is punched in a limited vertical area Justify the answer with: sensors calculations Working as hardware engineer, I must admit I'm not that experienced with physics. I've been trying to figure a way to solve it for a week now. What I thought of is mounting an IMU in the center of the bag and after that gather experimental data by hitting the bag with a pendulum. What's hard for me to determine is the force with which the bag is hit, how much of that force gets absorbed by the padding and the remaining force that drives the bag afterwards. Finding the acceleration and speed o

Good luck with the new forum to begin with (For now it works like the first MC Prime  with basic errors, namely certificate errors: needed to add a browser exception).   I am still using Mathcad 11. And I am a fun of it. An evident point I miss is to be able to show a result of an equation  inline with the equation itself. For instance: x:= 5      y:= 2x= 10. Instead in my worksheets I need always to write y:= 2x   and again    y= 10. In a worksheet that I opened recently, I found with my surprise the following equation asking from Matrix Mat_A its eigenvectors. And you can see it is followed with the "=" as I wanted. Probably I copied from MC15 to MC11 or I did something else. I do not have recalls on how I did it. Now I am not even able to replicate it inside MC11. Is someone able to explain if MC11 can do that. And if not, how can be explained the "exception" shown? Thanks

I decided to try out the new OLE capability of 4.0.  The good news is that the process seems to work quite well.  No hiccups that I saw.    The bad news is the image quality that is displayed is decidely subpar.  Here you can see the OLE version on the left, and the cleaner result I got just from pasting directly from visio (i.e. not linked).  It still looks poor when printed or pdf'd.            So, as it sits, I don't see the OLE as being an option since the quality isn't professional looking.  I don't see any options to improve the quality.  Any tricks that I'm missing?   Thanks,

The result in question is reached at the worksheet, so I need to display variables defined further down.   Is there any way to bypass the positioning constraint in Mathcad Prime 4.0? Using global variables is a way to do it, however some variables in the worksheet change several times and therefore need to be local
