Mathcad

Hi,I'm looking for a way to solve x-mount of equations with an equal amount of solutions. However, when I try to use an array in my solve-block I don't get a solution and the amount of equations makes it extremely impractical to solve the equations without using an array.The attached mathcad 15 document is NOT the actual problem but the array-issue is the same.Any help will be much appreciated!

Hello Readers,I had a problem with my main pc, and need to have my laptop downloaded with Mathcad Prime 2 student version.I plan to use the same copy of my Prime 2.I tired to download it and it had trouble continuing, the response was it could not continue with the installation process.Is there a conflict here to download as I had once installed it already?Since I have the password/key to install I should be able to install it on my backup computer.Please advise, since I am not privledged for tech support on student version. Thanks.

I try to solve a pipeflow problem but I have problems in doing so as I have no experience in this type of problem. In the first part of the sheet you will find the known variables. In the second part I try to calculate the different pressures. However, I have problems in setting up the equations. Would anyone be so kind to help me with this? The file is made with MC15

I'm setting up a couple of worksheets (though ideally I'd like to have 2 in 1) that will enable me to work out Fourier series, the respective odd & even extensions and display the graphs.Questions: 1) Is there a way to display a function g(t) in one set of curly brackets? e.g. (something looking like this but inside the culry brackets) 1 (0 < t <= 1) g(t) = { 2 - t (1 < t <= 2)2) Calculations are flagged in red (actually, nothing is being calculated at all!) when I try to work out the Fourier series of g(t) symbolically. I'm not sure what it is that I've missed?!?N.B. I have used the necessary parts from a worksheet that came with my MathCad package 14.0 M020 and trying to make some sense of it.

As you can see in the picture, i want to extract the value of white and black, however when I write black= of course it says placeholder is empty because the code "black" was identified in the function.If I seperate the statemets in two functions I can see the white and black counters but i wanna make the whole process in one function.Thank you.

Hello,please see attachment . i am manually copying and pasting each value from the pivot table into the matrix. is there an easier way to automate this process? the size of the table can be any square table meaning number of rows= number of columns.Thanks!

Working with symbolics is not my strong point. Need a little help with questions on the sheet. Based off of Dr. Alan Stevens critical thickness insulation work. Mostly symantics ... so driving me crazy.

I have tried the same pathway in win7 and i had no problem, however while trying the same steps in win8 i cannot insert picture.I am going to make matrix analysis of picture.I am selecting insert picture but the box is not the same which formates in win7. (First picture)On the other way, I am trying to copy picture and paste on mathcad document, but also mathcad sees that file as a HTML document.As a result, i cannot insert picture to my mathcad document.In the screenshots you will understand what I mean.Thank you.edit :I have tried to open a document which has picture in it, and i get this error. Hi,Is there any way of plotting a function with the variable on the y-axis and the function on the x-axis, instead of the "normal" way?In the appended example, the "rotated" plot only plots the first ~10 m or so, then it seems to stop.Thanks in advance

Hello,I just started using MATHCAD prime 3.0 without any experience with previous versions of MATHCAD. My first task is to solve an ODE (nonlinear, first-order: as analyzed by mathematica):(dV(x)/dx)^2 - (dV(x)/dx|x=0)^2 = A*(exp(B*V(x))-1), with only two boundary conditions V(0) = 0 and V(d) = -VdFor the details, please see the file attached below.I guess the problem occurs because of the (dV(x)/dx|x=0)^2 term in the left-hand side of the ODE. But I do not have a clue how to fix this problem.I tried to be as clear as possible.Thank you very much,Sungyeop

Does anyone know how to add a title to a plot in prime 3.0? Add a legend or even label an axis? From my searching it seems these features are no longer available in Mathcad Prime. Also, I can't believe there are only three settings for the document margins! In the previous version of Mathcad I used (v14) I was able to customize the margins. Am I missing something here?

I have setup my worksheet to have the default display for Multiplication as 'X' as this is needed in the equations. I am using MathCAD 15 M020However, the X is showing between the numbers and the units. Between the units we would like a Thin Space.To get the Thin Space between the Numbers & the Units, I right click over the X between the Number and the units and select View Multiplication As.. and select the Thin Space. This then displays the correct format we required (Thin space between the number and the Units).This only applies to any number that is not in the same default value as the default units. The worksheet default is set to Pressure (Pa), and all of our units are in MPa. If you change a Pa unit to MPa, it automatically adds the X between the number and the units.After changing all the required X to Thin Space, I save the worksheet, close it and then re-open the it. All the X re-appears in ALL the places where I previously changed the X between the number and the Units t

The 1st pass works fine but I now would like to set it up so that root() give me a set of x values for a set of given parameters. I've got a worksheet that minimises a function with two variables.I'd like to get the minimised variables and re-input them into the function to find the final minimised value.When I try to extract the variables from the Minimize vector it gives me different values to those found initially - see attached worksheet.Worksheet overview:The function (Fresmin) adds FLres and FHres absolutely.Fresmin will be zero wherever a horizontal line crosses both curves in the graph.I define a value for RLD and use Minimize to find the optimum value of RHD.I extract the minimised values into a and b.I've also created a simplified example at the bottom of the worksheet that does work correctly.Can anybody explain why the former is not working? (It appears to be finding another solution as Fresmin is very small)

I realize this is a recurring issue, but have yet to find a reasonable solution. So, I thought I'd start this thread. Has anyone found a good way to run MathCAD on a Mac? Is it possible to hope that PTC might actually get it to work like other normal apps so it behaves in Parallels?

Hello,I'm brand new to MathCad, and seem to be stuck where the calc will not converge, so I'm not getting an answer... the eqn comes from my course notes. I'm trying to solve to give the volume of 3 seperate sections of an object, starting with the first eqn, yfl(x). This is supposed to be the "radius" when I sub in into Eqn 3 below to calculate the volume integral. Where Lf= 86.4, nf = 2.25 and D=36, as seen in the MathCad worksheet. Thank you

In Mathcad PM we do not need to transpose matrix with one row for working with it as a vector (as in Matlab or SMath):

Hi,I just bought PTC Mathcad prime 3.0 (student version), and I have been trying to convert some files that I created with older versions of Mathcad (15.0, 11.0, etc) into the format of this new version. I read the document called: "Mathcad_Prime_Migration_Guide", and it says that I should install Matdcad 15 (M010) or a newest version of it to work with the converter of Mathcad prime 3.0. I downloaded and installed Mathcad 15.0 (M020) from my account at https://www.ptc.com/, but each time I tried to use the converter, the following log message was displayed by the converter: "Could not start Mathcad conversion process"Could anyone of you please send me a clue of what I should do to fix any error(s)?Thank you in advanced,EH
