I've got a worksheet that minimises a function with two variables.I'd like to get the minimised variables and re-input them into the function to find the final minimised value.When I try to extract the variables from the Minimize vector it gives me different values to those found initially - see attached worksheet.Worksheet overview:The function (Fresmin) adds FLres and FHres absolutely.Fresmin will be zero wherever a horizontal line crosses both curves in the graph.I define a value for RLD and use Minimize to find the optimum value of RHD.I extract the minimised values into a and b.I've also created a simplified example at the bottom of the worksheet that does work correctly.Can anybody explain why the former is not working? (It appears to be finding another solution as Fresmin is very small)

I realize this is a recurring issue, but have yet to find a reasonable solution. So, I thought I'd start this thread. Has anyone found a good way to run MathCAD on a Mac? Is it possible to hope that PTC might actually get it to work like other normal apps so it behaves in Parallels?

Hello,I'm brand new to MathCad, and seem to be stuck where the calc will not converge, so I'm not getting an answer... the eqn comes from my course notes. I'm trying to solve to give the volume of 3 seperate sections of an object, starting with the first eqn, yfl(x). This is supposed to be the "radius" when I sub in into Eqn 3 below to calculate the volume integral. Where Lf= 86.4, nf = 2.25 and D=36, as seen in the MathCad worksheet. Thank you

In Mathcad PM we do not need to transpose matrix with one row for working with it as a vector (as in Matlab or SMath):

Hi,I just bought PTC Mathcad prime 3.0 (student version), and I have been trying to convert some files that I created with older versions of Mathcad (15.0, 11.0, etc) into the format of this new version. I read the document called: "Mathcad_Prime_Migration_Guide", and it says that I should install Matdcad 15 (M010) or a newest version of it to work with the converter of Mathcad prime 3.0. I downloaded and installed Mathcad 15.0 (M020) from my account at https://www.ptc.com/, but each time I tried to use the converter, the following log message was displayed by the converter: "Could not start Mathcad conversion process"Could anyone of you please send me a clue of what I should do to fix any error(s)?Thank you in advanced,EH

Is there a way to test if a variable is a matrix in Prime 2.0?I'm writting a function that uses the function vertflip. I want my function to accept a scaler or matrix, but vertflip only accepts matricies. So I'm looking to do something like...vertflip(if(ismatrix(M), M, [M]))

I have some questions. I have uploaded the Mathcad 14 file and here is a image of it.Show expanded function without replacing the variable per its values.Result in degrees. it wont let me select any unit. Only positive result. If I add: assume θ>0 the solve fails! Why?x-axis (θ) in degrees, not rad. The range is set from 0°-90° but it is still displayed as rad!

Hello, I have a spreadsheet which was developed by anohter firm and was made to use. I was able to make the dit to the spread shett the way i wanted it but when it came to the results at the end, I am not able to edit the already exisiting table (matrix) that is provided by the developer. Can someone please help me on how I can edit the "Analysis Results" on the last 2 page of the attached file. hi, guyshere is my problem.I want to connect pro/e with modefrontier by using trail file. So I first define some parameters in pro/e. However, in the trail file, there shows no parameter name just some numbers. Hello Community,My xmcd-file doesnt open anymore. Mathcad shows me only the message, that the file is destroyed. The error message give no further information what is wrong with the file. When I create a 2D Plot and zoom in, how do I zoom back to original plot size?In Matlab ther is an option "Zoom back to default size", is there something similar in MathCAD?Speaking of graphs, I had looked at the old post regarding saving graphs to images in MathCAD 14, and the verdictseemed to be "click on graph, copy and past in Paint or similar". Any better ideas for high resolution plots, please?

Good DayI’m a bit new to Mathcad Prime 2.0, and I’m having trouble graphing the Weibull distribution curve. I’ve tried numerous times with no luck and all I end up is with a vertical line. Is it possible for you guys to take me step-by-step in making the curve?Thank YouDavid Escobar

I'll try and explain this the best I can and also the fact that I don't know if Mathcad can actually do what I requireI'm trying to produce a 2D graph from two varibles which can change. The graph is for a design of a beam where:-The load applied to the beam is known.The moment capacity of the beam is known.However the span can changeThe adjacent beam centers can change.The unity ratio of the beam passing <1.0 and failing >1.0I've attached a what I think it should look like and the formula. I believe this may require some sort of programming or I'm not sure whether Mathcad can actually do something like this.Please bear in mind I'm using Mathcad 14Thanks

Hi, Collab --I know that this is a long shot, but I thought maybe worth a try...A few months ago, seemingly out of the blue, we became unable to save Mathcad 15 files (xmcd, xmcdz, mcd) to one of our network drives. I note that rtf from MC15 and Prime files are no problem. It is also possible to copy MC15 files onto this network drive -- we just can't save them from MC15. The specific error we get is, "Disk full while accessing M:\filename.xmcd". The disk is most certainly not full. I also note that so far this error is 100% reproducible -- we have not seen a file, user, or workstation from which this error does not occur.Like I said, a long shot -- it could be MC, server hardware, server software, any number of things -- but has anyone else ever come across this?Thanks.Matt

I am decent with mathcad for simple calculations but lack understanding of the programming. I am really wanting to get a bit better but don't have any teaching and/or references. I thought at least this discussion board could be a great place for me to get help and tips.For this problem I have 2 vectors each containing 100 values. What i am looking to do is subtract each and every single value in each vector from eachother. I think I may need to use some sort of looping routine in order to accomplish this but I don't know how. Maybe there is another way that is better. Sheet is attached with comments in red. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also if anyone could point me in a good direction (books, etc) to become more familiar with creating these types of routines (for loops, nested for loops, etc). That would be greatly appreciated as well.
