Do all licenses (single seat & network licenses) issued as part of the Academic Program for Australian Secondary schools work with a downloaded copy of Creo 3.0 from https://support.ptc.com/appserver/auth/it/esd/academic.jsp? If not are there any requirements to update licensing to use Creo 3.0?

The number one reason that I hope they don’t change the exploder is that I find answers to questions I did not know that I even had.I support just as many SolidWorks users as ProE and I wish that there was the same type of exploder for SolidWorks.Regards,

The shocking news from day one of PTC Live is that PTC want's to "absorb" the mail exploder into their on-line communities forum.http://communities.ptc.com you'll see the announcement of this at the top of the page.I went up to Ron and Dan durning the break and said what are you doing to my mail exploder. The answer was there was pressure to only have one source of communication instead of some stuff on the forum and some via the mail exploder. They are having discussions next week on how to transfer the data from ptcuser to the ptc site.I asked if I was still going to get emails and the answer was no.I'm sorry but this is killing the goose that laid the golden egg.Make no mistake, if you don't raise your voice on this issue the mail exploder will disappear.Dave Haigh

Wednesday, June 18th Coming up on lunch on Wednesday - what have I seen and learned?   FIrst the good:   Creo 3 has finally arrived and there's some great new functionality related to patterns, flexible modeling, and surfacing just to name a few. Attendance looks to have been great and excited we are going back to Nashville and Opryland Resort in 2015 - great venue and a fun town! User presentations on the whole have been better and more consistent - not a lot of clunkers! eLearning tool is getting updated and I like the direction it is going   Now the not so good:   They want to take away the email exploder and move those activities into the PTC communities portal - NOT A GOOD IDEA!!!!  I have yet to talk to anyone who is happy about this development outside of those who came up with the idea.  I really hope it doesn't happen!   More to follow later this week   Mike Brattoli

I did a CREO course over a year ago, not long after I asked the IT people at school (North Sydney Girls High School) to install it. I have been told all sorts of reasons why it has not been installed. None of which really explaines why it is taking so long to install. Has anyone had a similar problem? I managed to get funding for a 3D priner and a wide format printer none of which are much good wihout a piece of software to create a design to send to them. Can anyone help me by helping the schools IT department Install CREO?

I have owned Mathcad for over13 years, starting before 2001. The last version I purchased and installed was 13 (upgrade). I used it infrequently because lack of work in my area and being "retired" from regular work. Recently I completely upgraded (new processor, board, etc).one of my computers and changed from Win XP to Win 7. I installed MC 2001 in compatability mode on this computer, but there seems to be some problems using it. I can't seem to get the newer versions to install on this computer. PTC told me that my versions will have errors problems with Win 7.   I have another computer similar to the new one which has s setup to select Win XP or Win 7 so I can use some older software with Win 7. I want to install the MathCad 2001 on this computer and use it to install the later MathCad upgrade versions up to Version 13. Using Windchill 10.1 & Arbortext Editor 6.0 In order to view an older iteration/revison of an xml object we currently add the file to our workspace or to a baseline and then view the file in Arbortext Editor. We then save the file outside of Windchill in a folder.   The problem we have is this...when the xml file is saved to the folder and the user wants to view the file, sometimes the graphics appear within the xml and sometimes they do not.   My question is this....Are the graphics (tifs & gifs) supposed to be saved to the same folder outside of Windchill? If so, why are they not saved in the folder? Or, is there something else that causes the graphics not to appear within the xml?   By the way, some users do not have a problem seeing all the graphics within the xml whether accessing through their workspace or through a baseline.

How can a user, that does not have windchill delete rights, determine which additional required objects would need to be deleted in order to successfully delete desired primary object.?

Today's exercises in video conversion remind me of the browser wars in the 1990s. There is no end to the pain of figuring out formats that will play well in everyone's browser on everyone's OS. Especially if you want to host the videos yourself. When you do as many videos as we do, here at Single-Sourcing Solutions, it starts to become impossible.   In order to make it simpler, we decided to post all our old videos to YouTube, which means that we recently launched several YouTube Channels: Arbortext Monster Garage - all the videos from our famed web series about how to trick out your Arbortext environment, software, and publishing deliverables Arbortext PTC/User Group - These videos are moving to YouTube as well, so we don't have to manage the AUG website. We recently upgraded from 4.2 to Arbortext 6.0. We are using our same DTD and FOSI. We had no problems with 4.2 but were losing support so we upgraded. We are having one problem with the undlining of the titles in our subparas. With the 4.2 the underline would stop at the period of the title. In the 6.0 version, the underline does stop at the period on Para0's but all subparas it extends past the period like two more spaces. We need help in finding out a way to fix this.                      

Hi All, I am pretty new to Arbortext and I am facing a problem. I have a couple of projects under a root folder and each project has multiple topics. I created a new project and I wanted to 'Check in As' the topics from the projects to the new project. However, it has really become a tedious task as I have to manually 'check in as' each topic one by one. Is there any way I can manually 'check in as' multiple topics at the same time?   What I am currently doing is that I first view the topic and then use the option SDL Live Content > Check in As.   Any help would be hugely appreciated.   Thanks in advance. A peer of mine is getting this error when he opens a file for editing. WARNING: Cannot evaluate XPath expression in stylesheet. An XPath Predicate is used in a Style context for an element that occurs in generated text. ... XPthat expression: xref[@type='fn'].   I have no other data on what he may have been doing 😞   Note: We do not use Styler, just the Editor.   Any ideas?

I am using a customized axdocbook as a MIL-STD technical bulletin.   I need the header/footer to populate the classification level of the individual pdf page. If any element has the attribute classification=secret, I need SECRET to appear in the header/footer. If no elements on the page are secret (meaning they do not have a classification attribute or have classification=unclassified), I need SECRET<newline/>(THIS PAGE IS UNCLASSIFIED) to appear in the header footer.   I have been able to conditionalize the gentext for the individual elements based on this attribute (to apply (S) or (U) before the element's content and so on). However, I do not know how to conditionalize the content in a header or footer.

Hello All,   I am looking for the way to change the default save locations for PDF's when I publish from Arbortext Editor (File > Publish >PDF)?   Right Now, for me it is C:\Users\SesaXXXXX\AppData\Local\Temp. Is there a way for me to set this to another location (For Example: \\XXXX\users\rajesh\PDFs)?   Thank you in advance,   Rajesh

Hello, do you know how to create a list of tags and its contents? In other words, I need to extrapolate from a Sgml file all occurrences of a particular tag with its contents, attributes included. Does Arbortext allow to do that?

Apart from substr and length, are there any other ACL string functions, for example for comparing one string with another, and indicating whether string A is alphanumerically greater than, less than or equal to string B?
