This is a presentation from the 2012 PTC Live conference, This presentation describes a modular, "bolt-on" approach to extending Windchill functionality without customizing out-of-the-box Windchill functionality.
This is a presentation from the 2010 PTC User conference that contains information on managing customizations using Eclipse, Subversion, and an Ant build script to automate deployment of Windchill customizations. This was originally written for the Windchill 8.x platform, but most information is still relevant.
Hi all, I am new to this so please be patient. Below is a macro I created. I have added statements to explain what is happening throughout and It works fine if I load a CGM into isodraw and then run the macro. The problem comes when I call the macro from the batch process tool. That's where it crashes and burns. I have also tried running this from the command line but the same thing happens. It is pretty clear to me that closing the document is causing the batch tool to go down. So if anyone knows some extra code I could use to just loop within my macro the number of times, equivalent to the number of CGM in my source directory I think it would do the trick. Any ideas would be appreciated. One other question: is there a line of code I can use to lock and unlock certain layers? Cheers Macro test #Save original document number as string. Arbortext Styler, 5.4 - Windows 7 - Error upon inserting Gentext In document view, insertion point is inside text. Stylesheet Editor has Element selected, and Gentext Tab has focus. I click Edit Button at right side, intending to add a pound sign at beginning of text, for all instances of the selected Element. Add before [ElementName] input window appears. I click Insert Symbol icon, or use Insert Menu, to insert symbol. Font Family dialog box appears where I select pound sign. When I click Insert Button, I get error in Add before window: "Insertion of text not allowed in this context". The document, and the stylesheet, were opened yesterday and working correctly before I shut down for the day. Can anyone help? Thanks, Dave
Did you know that we have a YouTube channel? Way back when this group first started, we had a few presentations from the user community. Originally, we had them posted to our website, but all the trouble with managing video and making sure that it's properly encoded for all the browsers and the ever changing technology and devices was a headache! So we migrated all the videos to YouTube. We found were were in good company. What's on YouTube? Our channel: Arbortext Users Group - YouTube Arbortext Monster Garage by Single-Sourcing Solutions - YouTube TC Dojo by Single-Sourcing Solutions - YouTube Single-Sourcing Solutions, Inc. - YouTube PTC Arbortext - YouTube Be sure to head on over and subscribe to the channels that interest you. There's a lot of good information out there and now we're there too! Have you joined? Did we miss anything?
First, there's no need to panic. There are a lot of resources out there for you and a lot of places where people congregate. You've already found one place: This group! The next place you need to go is the Arbortext group here on PTC Communities. For everyone who's been a member of the long-running mailing list, adepters, this is where they're migrating the Adepters mailing list archive. On one hand this is good, the tribal knowledge that's been locked in an email list archive since 1995, will be in a publicly viewable, SEARCHABLE, location. It will also be a central location for PTC to coordinate with their customers. On the other hand, you won't get it delivered to your inbox, you're going to have to go to the website for your information. And you won't have the unfettered user-curated content as it's now officially run by PTC. If you're looking for more places where the users run the show, be sure to join: The LinkedIn Group - nearly 1000 members strong!

Creo 2.0 M140 should be available by januari 9th:
Just preparing for some faculty training to promote the use of Creo within the school and when I started Creo I received errors about the license being expired. I am in the process of reinstalling with a newer license from training completed earlier this year however this prompted me to have another look at my PTC accounts. When I log in to my PTC account I found the access is very limited. For example licensing and downloads are not available via the account. Is this normal behaviour for and account under the Academic Program for Australian Seconday Schools?
We are using the Arbortext Publishing Engine. Right now, every person has to browse the file system to find the folder where the PDF needs to be saved. Is there a way to set up a default path where the PDFs can be saved?
If you want to join a trusted group of peers to discuss real world problems join the Arbortext Mastermind Group. The Arbortext Mastermind group is a mastermind group focused on all things Arbortext. Hello trainers, I posted a document in the Schools forum explaining how to 'see' your designs in situ before making using Augmented Reality (AR). It should really wow the pupils, is great fun and, useful for getting feedback from consumers on design alternatives at an early stage. http://communities.ptc.com/docs/DOC-6451
Do all licenses (single seat & network licenses) issued as part of the Academic Program for Australian Secondary schools work with a downloaded copy of Creo 3.0 from https://support.ptc.com/appserver/auth/it/esd/academic.jsp? If not are there any requirements to update licensing to use Creo 3.0?
The number one reason that I hope they don’t change the exploder is that I find answers to questions I did not know that I even had.I support just as many SolidWorks users as ProE and I wish that there was the same type of exploder for SolidWorks.Regards,
Spring 2015 Meeting Agenda and Newsletter
The shocking news from day one of PTC Live is that PTC want's to "absorb" the mail exploder into their on-line communities forum.http://communities.ptc.com you'll see the announcement of this at the top of the page.I went up to Ron and Dan durning the break and said what are you doing to my mail exploder. The answer was there was pressure to only have one source of communication instead of some stuff on the forum and some via the mail exploder. They are having discussions next week on how to transfer the data from ptcuser to the ptc site.I asked if I was still going to get emails and the answer was no.I'm sorry but this is killing the goose that laid the golden egg.Make no mistake, if you don't raise your voice on this issue the mail exploder will disappear.Dave Haigh
Wednesday, June 18th Coming up on lunch on Wednesday - what have I seen and learned? FIrst the good: Creo 3 has finally arrived and there's some great new functionality related to patterns, flexible modeling, and surfacing just to name a few. Attendance looks to have been great and excited we are going back to Nashville and Opryland Resort in 2015 - great venue and a fun town! User presentations on the whole have been better and more consistent - not a lot of clunkers! eLearning tool is getting updated and I like the direction it is going Now the not so good: They want to take away the email exploder and move those activities into the PTC communities portal - NOT A GOOD IDEA!!!! I have yet to talk to anyone who is happy about this development outside of those who came up with the idea. I really hope it doesn't happen! More to follow later this week Mike Brattoli
I did a CREO course over a year ago, not long after I asked the IT people at school (North Sydney Girls High School) to install it. I have been told all sorts of reasons why it has not been installed. None of which really explaines why it is taking so long to install. Has anyone had a similar problem? I managed to get funding for a 3D priner and a wide format printer none of which are much good wihout a piece of software to create a design to send to them. Can anyone help me by helping the schools IT department Install CREO?
I have owned Mathcad for over13 years, starting before 2001. The last version I purchased and installed was 13 (upgrade). I used it infrequently because lack of work in my area and being "retired" from regular work. Recently I completely upgraded (new processor, board, etc).one of my computers and changed from Win XP to Win 7. I installed MC 2001 in compatability mode on this computer, but there seems to be some problems using it. I can't seem to get the newer versions to install on this computer. PTC told me that my versions will have errors problems with Win 7. I have another computer similar to the new one which has s setup to select Win XP or Win 7 so I can use some older software with Win 7. I want to install the MathCad 2001 on this computer and use it to install the later MathCad upgrade versions up to Version 13. I can then remove MC2001 from the other computer to comply with PTC license requirements. I contacted PTC and was contacted by Cristian Georgescu. The bo
