Using Windchill 10.1 & Arbortext Editor 6.0 In order to view an older iteration/revison of an xml object we currently add the file to our workspace or to a baseline and then view the file in Arbortext Editor. We then save the file outside of Windchill in a folder.   The problem we have is this...when the xml file is saved to the folder and the user wants to view the file, sometimes the graphics appear within the xml and sometimes they do not.   My question is this....Are the graphics (tifs & gifs) supposed to be saved to the same folder outside of Windchill? If so, why are they not saved in the folder? Or, is there something else that causes the graphics not to appear within the xml?   By the way, some users do not have a problem seeing all the graphics within the xml whether accessing through their workspace or through a baseline.

How can a user, that does not have windchill delete rights, determine which additional required objects would need to be deleted in order to successfully delete desired primary object.?

Today's exercises in video conversion remind me of the browser wars in the 1990s. There is no end to the pain of figuring out formats that will play well in everyone's browser on everyone's OS. Especially if you want to host the videos yourself. We recently upgraded from 4.2 to Arbortext 6.0. We are using our same DTD and FOSI. We had no problems with 4.2 but were losing support so we upgraded. We are having one problem with the undlining of the titles in our subparas. With the 4.2 the underline would stop at the period of the title. In the 6.0 version, the underline does stop at the period on Para0's but all subparas it extends past the period like two more spaces. We need help in finding out a way to fix this.                      

Hi All, I am pretty new to Arbortext and I am facing a problem. I have a couple of projects under a root folder and each project has multiple topics. I created a new project and I wanted to 'Check in As' the topics from the projects to the new project. However, it has really become a tedious task as I have to manually 'check in as' each topic one by one. Is there any way I can manually 'check in as' multiple topics at the same time?   What I am currently doing is that I first view the topic and then use the option SDL Live Content > Check in As.   Any help would be hugely appreciated.   Thanks in advance. A peer of mine is getting this error when he opens a file for editing. WARNING: Cannot evaluate XPath expression in stylesheet. An XPath Predicate is used in a Style context for an element that occurs in generated text. ... XPthat expression: xref[@type='fn'].   I have no other data on what he may have been doing 😞   Note: We do not use Styler, just the Editor.   Any ideas?

I am using a customized axdocbook as a MIL-STD technical bulletin.   I need the header/footer to populate the classification level of the individual pdf page. If any element has the attribute classification=secret, I need SECRET to appear in the header/footer. If no elements on the page are secret (meaning they do not have a classification attribute or have classification=unclassified), I need SECRET<newline/>(THIS PAGE IS UNCLASSIFIED) to appear in the header footer.   I have been able to conditionalize the gentext for the individual elements based on this attribute (to apply (S) or (U) before the element's content and so on). However, I do not know how to conditionalize the content in a header or footer.

Hello All,   I am looking for the way to change the default save locations for PDF's when I publish from Arbortext Editor (File > Publish >PDF)?   Right Now, for me it is C:\Users\SesaXXXXX\AppData\Local\Temp. Is there a way for me to set this to another location (For Example: \\XXXX\users\rajesh\PDFs)?   Thank you in advance,   Rajesh

Hello, do you know how to create a list of tags and its contents? In other words, I need to extrapolate from a Sgml file all occurrences of a particular tag with its contents, attributes included. Does Arbortext allow to do that?

Apart from substr and length, are there any other ACL string functions, for example for comparing one string with another, and indicating whether string A is alphanumerically greater than, less than or equal to string B?

Many years ago, we bought this little wooden toy, in Germany. I remember drawing and animating it in ProDesktop. I have now managed it with Creo2.0.   I am very happy with the results. Part files are uploaded if you want to have a play with it.

Hi allI changed m creo/elements browser to mozilla based,it was working well and good,but suddenly a day became it displays blank when i go to Windchill, other websites are running normal like 3D model space. My windchill and following website http://www.ptc.com/community/landing/creo-elements-pro/start.htm also not loading properly, for the given link website doesn't show any image just showing words only. But when i open the mozilla browser indvidually the given following link works well.My question why the windchill loads and doesn't show the contents on page in creo/element browser? and i have attached for your reference how the web page have loaded when opening windchill and following link in mozilla based browser.please advice and help me to sort out this issue.Thanks & RegardsViswanathan.K+919940589005
