I am using Creo Schematics Release 7.0 and Datecode7.0.0.0I created a schematic using the ports that I created in my catalog. The ports have a name "##". I completed my schematic last week Friday and closed out my day. I returned next week Monday to find that most of my ports had been changed from ## to "universalport_#". Universalport_# is not used anywhere in my catalog. When I updated my labels, all ports that I had not personally changed that weren't universalport_# changed to universalport_#. I have changed some of them back to ## and they haven't changed back since then, but my concern is something like this happening again. Here are the errors that I faceduniversalport

It seems like PTC has abandoned CREO View Mobile for iOS. Any chance that there are any updartes to the app coming in the future? Our organization has a lot of Geometry Reviewers that have iPad Pro's and Mac OS machines and we need a better solution for them to view CAD geometry that is housed in Windchill.
Looking for some guidance, hopefully I'm missing something..Using Creo View 8 When referencing PVZ models in Creo View I often have to measure components to check sizing, and often the surfaces from which I want to measure are behind another object, surface, etc. When using the measure tool, and having selected a first reference point, I then attempt to select another reference, which is obscured, by Ctrl+right click, as I would do in Creo Parametric, or Ctrl+scroll wheel, but this results in every selectable reference being added to the measurement setup window as I cycle through. Is there something I'm missing here? Why would the selection operation be different to that in Creo Parametric, and downright dysfunctional? I can cycle to an obscured reference, as long as I don't mind removing tens of errant references after reaching the intended surface. Is there some setting, or another way to select behind? I don't want to have to hide or isolate components as I frequently hav
Is Creo Sketch still a PTC product? Is anyone using this tool in thier organization? I ran across a data sheet on it and it looks to have a bunch of the markup sketching functionality that we are interested in for MacOS and iPad based reviewers in our organization. https://www.ptc.com/-/media/Files/PDFs/CAD/creo-datsheet/sketch.pdf
We need for assistance to export images files from Creo Illustrate Figure to any image extension (PNG, BMP, JPG) with transparent background.
I would like to propose to implement on the PTC website whrer new ideas can be submittet a kind of search tool where I can filter and search the existing product ideas. Someone could have already submitted the idea I would like to submit. So I would rather vote for the existing idea than submitting a new one. BUT with the existing tools it's nearly impossible for me to find any existing idea which is similar to the one I have. - Specific search for product enhancement ideas - well categorized - filtering for category, product range, date of submission, person who submitted the idea, number of votes a.s.o
Any chance that a native Mac OS version of CREO View is in the PTC roadmap?
Hello Community, I have edited several PVZ files in Creo View MCAD, and added further assemblies, also from PVZ files, via "Add Viewable to Session". This has worked perfectly for months. Now, however, the added viewables have suddenly disappeared from the corresponding PVZ files that they were added to ("parent files"). However, the added assemblies are still visible in the thumbnails of various annotation sets of the respective parent files. Based on the previous experience and on this help text, I assume that viewables that have been added in this way are stored inside the parent file, so that the location of the added assembly does not matter after it has been added (as would be the case, for example, with Microsoft OLE Object Linking and Embedding). The shared location of the parent file and the added viewable has changed in the meantime, but both are still in the same file folder together. What could be the reason that the added viewables are suddenly no l
As per this thread - same issue Thanks very much and sorry for the late reply. Is there any way to also hide the labels about version, filename etc.?
So I have marked up a model with annotations and notes. The engineering has recently updated from rev A to Rev B. Is there a way for Creo View to update the engineering while still keeping the annotations and groups of the previous version. Or is there a compare function I could do that would compare part numbers vs the location and have another PVZ of the changes B had to tack on to Rev A? Thanks,
I'm finding my main Figure in a sequence changes randomly as I am creating a sequence of steps. As an example;Create a figure and set the visibility of parts on the sBOM and click 'Use current View'Go to animation tab, start creating a SequenceOn the first step, fade most components out while recording so there is a key frameContinue to add components on subsequent stepsAt some point the main Figure either explodes components or starts hiding componentsTry and set the main Figure to have correct parts visibleClick onto any other part of the sequence and return, parts are still invisibleI'm finding this behaviour to be a bit erratic between parts hiding and parts being translated to random locations. The biggest frustration is with translation as when I try and edit the part translations in the Figure, it propagates through the sequences in an undesirable way. As it stands, all my sequences start with a random image that is not representative of the subsequent sequence steps so it's qui
Hi, I am new to Creo Illustrate and I'm trying to wrap my head around using it. I'm using Creo 7.0. When it comes to standards - they contain all the needed styles, symbols, properties. I know how to create a standard, export or add one but I can't seem to be able to find how to edit a standard. It seems a natural thing to be able to edit such things - specifically I need to add some symbols "on the fly" when I come across a need for one. I found out I can download a zip file with text based setting for standards but it's painfully time consuming to edit that every time I need to do it and I don't even know as of now if I'll be able to add proper symbols or callout using this workflow. Could you please let me know if there's a way to edit symbol library or callout library a "normal way"? Kind regards, Tom
So have two different PVZ files that I load one then add another viewable to session. They both had annotation sets and groups available in each PVZ file. Why can't I have access to the second set of annotations or groups? Is there a way to extract those annotations and groups and apply them to the merged into one? This allows multiple people to work on various parts of a project and then bring them all together having access to all those marked up locations and notes. And then merge them into new Annotation sets. Thanks much
We recently updated our drawing formats to show a date of issue, as well as the date of the revision. The problem I'm now running into is when the updated representation is created for Creo View, the date in the title block is showing the *entire* date, but the view in Creo shows the correct format. I've tried republishing several times, but keep getting the same result. This is what I'm seeing when a new representation is created in Windchill. This is what is shown in Creo, and what we're hoping to see in Creo View.
Hello all,I am a newbie here and I am using Creo Illustarte. So I hope that I will ask correctly. My question:Sometimes Illustrate displays a curve in an edgy way.See my attached example. The cap and the O-ring are actually round. How can I fix this?
Is there any method for creating multiple planar sections when viewing .pvz files? Are there any plans to create other, non-planar types of sections?
Hello, can we get the length measurement in Creo Illustrate as in Creo View ? Thanks
Hello, The coordinate of creo layout (.cem) is X,Y which correspond to the front view of an assembly (.asm). additionaly to a layout in the front view, I have to create a layout with a X,Z coordinate to correspond to the top view of the assembly. Is it possible to modify / redifine the coordinate of a layout ? Thanks
Hi, Is there a way/setting to publish the EPMDocument attachment to a PDF? Requirement is to add a PDF/GIF as a CAD Object attachment and publish it. Is this possible in Windchill publisher? thanks,
Hi,Creo Illustrate 7.0Is it an oversight or another weird "feature" that there's no option for publishing PDFs with localization options (in different than source language)? @agarland Oh yeah, and marking another language as the source language doesn't work...the output is in the "original" source language. This is madness... I just found https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article/CS287261So I guess it's a "feature"... Does it need a kicker in the form of "community idea" to be fixed or writing one is just waste of time? The same appears for movies and U3D files.
Hi i want to publish each steps that i made individually but i can't find that kind of function. Is there anyway to publish each steps that i made?
Creo Illustrate 7.1*There's actually multitude of issues with localization. Apparently no one has ever used it until recently... How localization should work:- Choose source language (default = english)- Choose or create another language and add it as a "target language"Creo creates an xlf file containing <source>*current callout text*</source> tags for each callout- User opens the c3di archive and finds the xlf file created.*By the way...the fact that we can't add "target" text in the UI but need to go to the archive, open the notepad and add <targer></target> tags with translation is so atrocious that no wonder nobody played with this. Why on earth would you keep it in this state for so many years is beyond ones comprehension! Even though it's an easy fix.- User finds the text he wants to translate, adds the <target>*translated text*</target> tags- User updates the file in archive and restarts Creo Illustrate- Now you can change between transl
