May anyone please provide a recommended workflow for updating SBOM?Currently we import PVZ files into Creo Illustrate to produce operation steps and associated graphics and annotations.This works very well until we receive a new updated PVZ.When the new updated PVZ is imported, many of the links break requiring graphics and annotations to be rebuild.For example, importing an updated PVZ where a sub-assembly has a new revision results in broken links and requires all graphics and annotations for each operation to be rebuild.

Hi.Creo Illustrate 7.0 here. Long story short - Is it possible (in a direct or indirect way) to reuse illustrations for different - alternate - versions of assemblies? What I mean by that - Let's say I have a dozen of top level assemblies of a complicated product, say a car. I have created a set of illustrations (let's say 200) for car No. 1. And it's cool.Now, car No.2 is 80% exactly the same, but just some components are part of different subassemblies, they have a little bit different geometry and parameters (attributes). They may end up in different subassemblies sometimes but in general the structure is very similar. It's just a bit different version to car No.1. Same story goes for 3rd, 4th car and so on. They form a group of products from the same family, but differ in detail. I wish to reuse the set of illustrations I've spent a lot of time polishing for the whole family of cars. I am currently running Creo Schematics 4.0 and it's taking me a minimum of 45 minutes to export sheets from my designs that need to be used in other designs.  Is there anything that I can do to reduce the time it takes to export (i.e. clear cache, simplify library, etc.)?  We use a central catalog that I do not control but understand the structure well enough that I could attempt to make a simpler structured copy of it for my own testing.  Is that something that would likely help or is there something better that I should try.  We do use multicore processors in our computers, but it does not appear that our copy of Creo Schematics takes real advantage of that fact if it's even capable of doing so.  I'm just getting real tired of not being able to get my work done because of slow exporting speed.

The "Capture Location" and/or "Restore Location" function is broken in Creo View at least up to version 8.0. Just lost an hour of work moving parts and saving their position using "Capture Selected". Then I was going to reset the position of those parts to the original position using "Restore Selected To Original". Instead, however, the parts' position was reset to the captured position that I had moved them to previously, and the original position was entirely lost, for every single Viewable and Annotation set of the assembly/file. Thus, this feature is broken because "Restore to Original" erroneously restores not the original position, but the last captured position of the respective parts. This should of course only happen if you select "Restore to Saved" and not "Restore to Original" 😤 @unknown, please fix this urgently.

The dimension values are changing in the representations of Solidworks drawing after publishing by Solidworks worker.What could be the problem ?. can anyone help me on it ?

Creo schematics shut down on me.  And now when I try to open the file I was working on, Creo schematics reports that 'Directory in use by an open design'.  How can I open my old design.

I just downloaded Creo View 8.0 and I noticed that when I load a big assembly, The "loading parts..." bar is not showing the loading percentage (see attached screenshot). I used to have the loading percentage on older Creo View versions. Anyone knows how to add it back or did PTC removed it? Thanks.

Hello Community, is it possible to update certain parts or assemblies of an existing PVZ file, ideally using Creo View only (for example by "Add Viewable to Session" or similar) -- thereby retaining the views, positions, displacements, transformations etc. of these parts and assemblies as saved in the respective Annotation Set?I'm asking because I've put a lot of work into a PVZ file with many carefully drafted annotation sets (that together represent several motion sequences of various parts and assemblies relative to each other), and I'd rather not have to recreate the whole lot just because the geometry of some parts has changed a little.

I am using Creo Schematics Release 3.0 and DatecodeF000   How can I change the global parameters? All the commands in the "Edit Global parameters" menu are greyed out.I am working with a catalog that was provided to me directly. Where and how are the derived functions stored? Is there a way to control visibility of callouts and notes in Creo Illustrate 7.0?

In Creo View MCAD, you can change the color of the selected components pretty easily. However, this only seems to work for solids. If some or all of your component is surfaces, those surfaces stay the original color. Is there an easy way to also change the color for surfaces? You can manually select each individual surface to change the color using the right click menu, but that is incredibly tedious to do for hundreds of surfaces.

Hi. Whenever I think I've found all the workarounds with Illustrate I stumble upon new weird issues. This time in a certain c3di file I couldn't get the publish to work. It would start the worker and hang at 0% indefinitely. After several hours of investigation I found out that one specific symbol that I added as a tool is the culprit. Its .ol representation is attached below. Here's the weirdest part - it prevents worker from publishing only when you assign a colour to one or more of its surfaces! Otherwise it works - you can leave it as is and it won't break the worker and you can assign a single colour to the whole symbol and it still works. But as soon as you change a colour of one of it's surfaces it breaks. So it begs the question - WHY?? I thought it could've been the issue with exporting the file so I did the whole process again - nope. Hi again, Yet another issue with Creo Illustrate 7.0 -  See the image below - 2nd warning. I don't care about first one at the moment.Sometimes when I open c3di file some of the images that I inserted as symbols (png format) go corrupt with this error message. I think it's once again something to do with saving, but how can I make sure I don't need to recreate it later on risking with every save that something goes to hell? 

I am looking for a way to convert a Creo View File/ Viewable to a jt file. The Creo View Adapter for JT (jt2pv) is only for publishing to a windchill server, right? I need the other way round. A conversion from Creo View (8.0) to JT, but not interactive by user.  So I need a server controlled publishing, like a worker or anything else or line publishing (batch). 

Hi,I know there's a way to add a decal to geometry in Creo illustrate, however I am wondering whether there's a way of carrying over a decal applied in Creo Parametric to the .ol geometry representation of a part, which then could be used as a symbol in Creo illustrate?So far I was unable to do so. It would be great, cause adding a decal each time I wish to use certain symbol is painful.

Hi, I have a fairly big assembly, for which I have created an instruction set in Illustrate. The file weighs 450MB but it's fine, it works well. I also added several 3d symbols and some 2d symbols. My issues:1. Publishing takes a lot of time in general. What gets published always is all the symbols, whether they are used in the figures chosen for publish or not, the manifest and an .en file and the figures themselves.It doesn't make a big difference how many figures I publish, it appears most of the publishing time is being consumed by whatever the worker does extra.The output file it not big - around 30MB + about 1-2MB per figure2. Some illustrations cause the worker to get stuck at either 5 or 33% of progress. Here's the messages window SS:3. Publishing a few dozen of illustrations is kind of impossible. Hi, I'd like to ask you what is the intended way of using Creo Illustrate post-publish output? What I mean by that is that I wish to create assembly instructions (I have done that already), publish them as 2d PDF files and send them to assembly line for use as a guidance. However the issues I find are as follows:a) viewing the output in Creo View is suboptimal - opening all the illustrations in the grid view takes a lot of time and afterwards I can pick one that I need, maximize it but then what? The "pages" ribbon menu is unavailable for some reason and shows only one page. Also zooming in and out takes a lot of time to render. (edit: opening and rendering is significantly better in Creo View Lite compared to Express)b) when viewed in Creo view the illustrations loose sharpness compared to Adobe. (edit: the loose sharpness in creo view express. They don't in creo view Lite)c) I could potentially open the pvz file, extract all the PDFs and merge them, but it's a lot of hassle.&nbs
