Hi Everyone,Can we check-in/check-out directly without using the WGM Connector. For example Third party CAD software is integrated with WGM, we'll see the Windchill ribbon in top using that tab to check-in into Windchill, but it's not directly going to Windchill right it's only save in workspace (WGM - Local Workspace) once again there only we can check-in into windchill directly. I need a way to edit a problem report and pick a user (from an intelligent search UI) to apply to the Creator Role, replacing whoever is there, or at least updating a separate attribute. We have people on the shop floor that don't have the authority, training, or computer to create their own PRs, so a manager often creates it for them. However, when questions arise, we need to know who identified the problem originally. The PR currently has an attribute (string) to capture who identified the problem but names can be entered in a variety of ways (first last, last first, first.last, using initials, using nicknames, etc). Because of this, generating reports that identify specific individuals doesn't work as there could be any number of different Jon Doe's all indicating the same person. I need to create a custom numbering scheme for our ECR/ECN process in PDMLink11.1. The numbers would be YY-XXXX, where YY is the last two digits of the year and XXXX is a sequential number starting at 0001, like "18-0152". I also need the number XXXX to reset to 0001 at the end of the year. So, regardless of the last number used in 2018, when we change to 2019, the number would become "19-0001".   Has anybody ever done something similar? Or does anyone know how to skip numbers in a autogenerated numbering scheme?   Thanks

I am using Windchill PDMLink Release 12.0 and Datecode with CPS 12.0.1.0We are start facing issue with windchill being slow or loos connectivity especially on morning time, expected what causing the issue is there's another backup process getting in the way over nights as we do full backup daily, it might be a script running overnight on windchill server MISWCPROD that's backing up the database /“transaction log” which causing the CV log backup to fail because seems have two things backing up logs - they lose the timing/history mark. If there's a scripted backup running on the DB overnight, we should turn that off - it's conflicting with the CV backup.So, If WC has a scripted overnight backup, we need to turn that off.This is what event error showing.The [Transaction Log] Backup of database [wc] is converted to full because1) there was either a LOG Backup done outside this product or2) LOG Backup done for the same file in another subclient.or 3) Failed to update CommServe db in previou

I am trying to create a count function that counts the number of ECRs for which atleast one work item was given a 'Rework' vote, that way I can count how many ECRs were reworked atleast once and then divide that by total ECRs. first pass yield = 1- (ECRs reworked atleast once/Total number of ECRs) The problem I am facing is because the ECR is linked to work item as a PBO, the counts of ECRs is including each work item of a given ECR where the Rework vote was given.Also, calculating this ratio seems almost impossible.Do we need to just download the data and do the calculation in an external tool?

Dear Community,   I am looking for customer insights on usage of Line number / Find number. What is a line number / find number? Line Number:  Identifies the position of the part within a manufacturing bill of materials (BOM) in an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. Typically aligns to ERP Line Number. Find Number: an attribute used to cross-reference a part in a product structure with the same part in an assembly drawing. Is this information used in design processes? Is it actually CAD driven, i.e. entered in CAD and than exposed to Windchill? Hi,Is there any way to disable automatic numbering when creating new CAD documents in third party CAD software but enable it when using Rename action?When autonumbering is enabled in the OIR, every new CAD file created in Solidworks will get a new number. This results in huge amounts of "wasted" numbers when users try different ideas and discard them later. But when I disable the autonumbering (by removing GetServerAssignedConstraint) in the OIR, it is also disabled in the Rename action:I'd like for our users to be able to use temporary concept names when the design is in work and then rename them with autonumbering when they are ready.

We're starting a project to try to enhance the way that data is presented to approvers in a Promotion Request. We use Promotion Requests for approving state changes. We do not use the ECN or ECR functionality in Windchill currently. It's challenging for approvers sometimes to know what they are supposed to review/approve because Promotion Requests out-of-the-box only have a table display for the related items. A complex promotion request for us may include:  Assembly WTPart, CAD model, Drawing Documents related to the WTPart Supplier Part (we are using the SUMA module) Documents related to the Supplier Part All the above for one or more Child WTPart(s) I think what we're going to work toward developing will be some sort of Tree view to better be able to visualize the relationships between the items.   My question is if anyone else has worked on something similar to this, and what solution you are using?

I am working on customizing the workflow task notication templates and have a few questions.   1.)  Why does the activityNoficationURL method not get put in comments but all of the other methods do?  (It will fail if placed in comments.)  [Red Box]   2.)  Where is the extra condition "notification" for activityAttributes documented.  [Blue Box]     3.)  How do I get just the task URL without all of the extra garbage?  [Orange Boxes]   4.)  Why does the task list the process name instead of the task name?  Is this controlled by a preference?  If not, can the process name itself be changed?  (I'm already dynamically changing the task name.)     Thanks!

We are looking at trying to customize the appearance of the email notifications that get sent for workflow activities and workflow notification robots. I have found the information on customizing the workflow HTML templates and have found the directories where they are stored on our server, but I do not know the best way to go about customizing the HTML files to make them work properly with our system. We are using Windchill 10.0 M040.What I am looking for is a sample template that we could use as a starting point for developing our own email templates. Also, where are the scripts located that Windchill uses for generating the email content? The General_en_US.html template uses three scripts: getStyleSheetProps, activityNotificationUrl, and activityAttributes notification=true. In order to develop our own template, do I need to create my own custom scripts so that I can insert dynamic information relating to the workflow activity, etc.?I am a novice when it comes to HTML and Java devel

Dear allIt's wonderful to see all your inputs in these forums ! We have a Windchill change process where we need to generate custom partslist (BOM) in a pdf format with a predefined template (header , footer , logo etc). Inspite of all the efforts(customization) from the team it still is not possible. (I know this is not an OOTB function from Windchill) I reach out to all of you to seek your comments /suggestions We are using Windchill 12.0.2 .  Thank you in advance.
