PTC Community Announcements

A maintenance activity took place between 8pm Friday, February 1st and 9pm Saturday 2nd and the Community was in read only status.   If you tried to log in you may have received the eSupport alert message about the PTC Customer Support Systems with Technical Support contact numbers.   We will be sure to notify the community via this "Community Announcement" process in the event another scheduled maintenance activity takes place.

Exciting News!   I am pleased to announce that  ThingWorx Ideas is now added to the PTC Community.   ThingWorx Ideas lives under the IoT community category and is the place where  Customerswithsupport (Active Maintenance) can provide product enhancement suggestions for the following:   Analytics Axeda Kepware Manufacturing Apps Navigate ThingWorx Platform ThingWorx Edge Connectivity Other (For when you really aren't sure how to classify your idea!) Hi, Everyone,   I am excited to tell you that we have added the ability to reply to the email notifications (community mailers) for the topics (community messages) and boards (forums, working groups, ideas...etc) that you are subscribed to.     Here is how it works:   1. A message is  posted in the community   .2.  The email notification arrives. At the bottom of the email, there is a "Reply" link.   3.  An email window opens for you to type your reply above the "type your reply above this line" ##,  and you can "Send" as a normal email.     Note:  Attachments and images will have to be added directly to the post within 24 hours (during the standard editing window for our community).     I know this was  a feature long requested.  So feel free to tell us what you think on the Community Feedback board!  

Hi, Everyone,   I hope everyone is having a great summer! I know it has been a little while since I left you a Community Announcement.  So, here is an update on some simple changes that have been made over the weekend.   1.  The Servigistics category is now removed.  There is a private discussion area now for topics related to Servigistics.  Please contact the @thartwell if you have a Servigistics question you would like to post in the private community.   2.  Arbortext is pulled out to its own category.     3.  Across the community, half of the Community "Forums" boards said Questions and half did not so we removed the word "Questions" in the titles of the boards to be uniform.  This also allows more flexibility so members of our community will know they can post non-question items here also. We are going to test this format for the titles for now and we if it is "intuitive" enough by the existing content that this is the pl

You will see some changes happening to the IoT/AR category as of June 1, 2018.    Augmented Reality will become a new category and all AR-related content will move with it. IoT/AR will be renamed as IoT and all IoT-related content will stay under that category.    We look forward to new and exciting topics and boards as our Augmented Reality business grows.    As always, feel free to post any questions you have about this move in the comments below. 

Hi, Everyone,   Just a quick note to let everyone know that moving day has finally arrived!   Your community team (including some community members) have spent some time analyzing threads to come up with "keywords"  to reroute  or relabel selected content that was moved over from the previous Jive Community platform last June (2017). Topics impacted include Creo, Mathcad, Integrity, FlexPLM, Windchill and other miscellaneous posts under Community Content Groups.           If you feel a post needs to be changed further, feel free to use "Notify Moderator" to suggest a new board or a different label.   Your community activity will be uninterrupted, but the move/relabel process will take place for 3-4 days in the background. To prevent your email boxes from being flooded, all email notifications for the entire community will be turned off until this content remapping is complete.   The IoT/AR category has no c

Some changes to the PTC Community:   1. Community.ptc.com now has access to the "PTC Marketplace" under <Connect>. 2. PTC corporate social sites are now available on bottom right. 3. Private Groups can now have additional announcement text/html added in the side rail. 4.  New "Filter By Tag" option.  More information on how to use this coming soon! 5.  "Reply To" designation.      

Hi, Everyone,   I am happy to announce that Lithium just put in a fix for us to restore images and attachments of some threads that did not carry over previously from our former Jive Community migration.  These might have been mostly "Pre-Jive Community"or the "PTC User Exploder" content.     The one thing to remember though is that if you choose to use the "viewer" functionality on an image (where you click on the file link)          the old "cached" image may display.  Please feel free to download the image and it should render the correct one for the post.  It may take a couple weeks for the previous "cached" image to change within the document viewer functionality.  Feel free to utilize the "Notify Moderator" on threads where the "Document Viewer" preview and the image "downloaded" to view do not make sense with the discussion and appear to still be the incorrect image.  Thank You!

Hi, Everyone,   Performance Advisor is the next section of the community we are working on.  The Performance Advisor information is now combined in one central area with Creo, Windchill, and Integrity labels for easy searching.  (Thingworx Labels will be added soon).  We have a Performance Advisor "discussion" board and a Performance Advisor Tips board for information directly from PTC to our community members or member posts we want to highlight!  We had to tuck "Performance Advisor Ideas" away, but they will resurface soon!  Thank you for your patience as we work through the clean up.        You are all the experts on your favorite community content.  If you notice any content that needs to be labeled, or relabeled, or moved into the new Performance Advisor, please use "Notify Moderator" to let us know.

Hi, Everyone,   We are in the process of relabeling the Integrity Quesitons Board.  Subscriptions are turned of while we  reedit everyone's posts to reflect the new labels.    

The PTC Academic Program community content is moving!  In the next few days, we will be reorganizing and moving the content to the new layout!  "Certification" and "Training" for our PTC Users that want to take advantage of our professional education resources and "PTC Academic Program" for our K-12 and University Creo enthusiasts!  

  Hi, Everybody,   Happy Thanksgiving!  I am so thankful for each and every community member.  You all make this community great! I know we have been through so many changes over the last six months, but I am confident 2018 is going to be a great community year for us!   Your community team has been working behind the scenes to analyze and identify content that needs to be moved to new locations or organized differently.  We have had input from community members (like you!), PTC product managers, and the support team.  We also took a hard look at the metrics and best practices for online communities.    The plan is to encourage insightful and more direct conversations with wider groups of people so in the next few weeks you will see new architecture of top level categories, boards, and labels.  I know everyone has their favorite spot/place on the community so always check back at this community announcement area to see what content move
