PTC Community Information Center

I posted something on PTCooler this morning and when I finished, it says it is waiting for moderator approval. Is this a new setting on that part of the website?

Is the PTC Mathcad Ideas Forum locked down for some reason?  I haven't been on in a while, but I can't seem to post new topics or vote for old ones.  The title description says that you have to have an upgraded PTC account that includes support, but as far as I can tell, I have an upgraded account with support.  It also says to post questions to the Community How To page, but that seems locked down as well.  The PTC Creo Ideas forum seems to work correctly.

Has anyone else noticed that user ptc-5208287 kudos posts almost instantly after a new post is posted regardless of what it is? This leads me to believe that this user is not a real person.    @unknown   @Jaime_Lee ? Is this a real person?@Jaime_Lee

Problem seemed to be solved for a while but quite now it again took minutes to log in

I’m having trouble signing in…the website keeps referring me to an “old” login to this "user id":  @ptc-3460765   Where as the website should log me in as: @HamsterNL   Who at PTC can help me out?

Is it just me, or are more people experiencing extreme slowness of the forum, especially on logging in and inserting pictures? And I noticed that the Login icon/button disappeared from the top dark grey bar. {Ah, found it; It's just below the top bar}   Luc

At least to login (OK after that) Took at least two minutes to login - shouldn't really take two seconds  PS Also got: "Correct the highlighted errors and try again. There was an error while attempting to post your message. Try again in a few minutes." when trying to post. No errors shown

Is it possible to edit/update blog? I have a "document" from old site turned into a blog on the new one and I can't edit it. I need to update some files in it that were attached.  But I don't see any button option for edit.    

         Found some older posts in "Additional Creo Questions"       Is this the future for a "aditionnaly bought" program       In the previous forum, it was difficult to find, but now it seems to be        getting worse.          Sorry, i wil not be to negatif for the startup but i see what's happend        in the past.        Best regards

When I click on the "announcement"  that shows MORE CREO IDEAS, it takes me to the top level Creo Ideas catergory (Community > Creo Ideas), but that is a category (not an place to post). The only board under that is Creo Parametric Ideas.  There is no place to post ideas for anything other than Creo Parametric (with respect to the product line known as Creo, ie Creo View, Creo Simulation, Creo Elements Direct). I think the board for the "other" Creo products is missing in action.   Taking this one step further, a board called MORE CREO IDEAS, as a catch-all is just bad. Doesn't mean anything to anybody and is just not helpful to the end user or the internal PTC product managers, might as well name it "the trash bin no one ever looks at", sorry, that's a little harsh, but that sure is my perception. Those other programs that are using the Creo name but aren't Creo Parametric are just...

Holy cow... I came here to post an announcement of a new Regional User's Group for the Mid-Atlantic Region. We've needed one for years and we're finally able to kick it off so I was excited to share the news.   THEN... I saw this new PTC Community.   What the $%^&@ has happened here? This is *THE* single most confusing, muddled, mess I've ever seen. In fact, no one is even going to read THIS message because it's impossible to find ANYTHING.   Sorry PTC - whomever is in charge of this needs to attend a class on the proper way to design and deploy a message board. PTC Community was better 5 years ago. This thing is a mess. The LACK of posts should be a clue. I would guarantee the participation rate on this site has plummeted. This is really unacceptable. We had far more participation in the past.   It's clear that former core products like Creo and Windchill are now being relegated to "old stuff no one cares about" and therefore it's perfectly fine to lump it all

I didn't know whether to post this here or "PTCooler - OffTopic"   I find it interesting that when searching on Creo, Creo doesn't recognize Creo. (Yes it still finds it.)   🙂  🙂

Dear all, I found Creo Ideas page is hidden by default in MENU tab, there is no else place we can get into this except this entrance, can we adjust the layout to Creo community or some other visible place for customers as well as internal stuffs?

When a Windchill user needs to file an enhancement request, they are usually directed to this page on the PTC site (either from advice from a TSE or from a link in PTC Knowledge Base article): https://support.ptc.com/support/PTC_Product_Ideas.htm   This page directs users to the PTC Community home page. Additionally, the  PTC_Product_Ideas.htm page states: Where are Product Ideas for new functionality submitted? Once you enter PTC Community, click on Browse and locate the product that pertains to your idea. Under that product you will find an “Ideas” section where you can add, view, comment and vote on Product Ideas.   For a Windchill user, when they go to the Windchill forum the only Ideas board is for FlexPLM Ideas, which is for only one product within the Windchill suite of products--there is no Windchill Ideas board for PDMLink/ProjectLink users to submit their ideas.  It looks like the Windchill Ideas board is hidden under the Community > Ideas Exc

I don't see the "reply" link on the notification email? Maybe I'm jumping the gun, this notification was about 12 minutes after the annoucement.  

When listing my board subscriptions, the boards are only displayed with their direct name, not their full path. Therefore, I have an entry "Discussions", but I can't tell in which folder that is, there might be many boards called "Discussions". Request is to display the full board path somewhere.

Hi, Everyone,   I am excited to tell you that we have added the ability to reply to the email notifications (community mailers) for the topics (community messages) and boards (forums, working groups, ideas...etc) that you are subscribed to.     Here is how it works:   1. A message is  posted in the community   .2.  The email notification arrives. At the bottom of the email, there is a "Reply" link.   3.  An email window opens for you to type your reply above the "type your reply above this line" ##,  and you can "Send" as a normal email.     Note:  Attachments and images will have to be added directly to the post within 24 hours (during the standard editing window for our community).     I know this was  a feature long requested.  So feel free to tell us what you think on the Community Feedback board!

In changing the design of this forum the way to embed (not attach) picture was dramatically change ti the worse. Before the change we could see the pic in the editor window and were able to resize it (not the silly large, medium,small option) using the mouse. Now the picture is not shown in the editor window at all (just the file name) and it looks like we cannot scale it anymore. This was an important feature when embedding screenshots made from a 4K display. We also don't get a preview of the picture before we chose to add it in the text as we got used to. Even worse when I open aa already sent post to re-edit it, there is no reference to an embedded picture in the edit window at all. How am I supposed to rearrange or delete an already embedded picture??   Please reenable the old behaviour - it was far away from being comfortable, but the new way is inferior worse.

Hi, Everyone,   I hope everyone is having a great summer! I know it has been a little while since I left you a Community Announcement.  So, here is an update on some simple changes that have been made over the weekend.   1.  The Servigistics category is now removed.  There is a private discussion area now for topics related to Servigistics.  Please contact the @thartwell if you have a Servigistics question you would like to post in the private community.   2.  Arbortext is pulled out to its own category.     3.  Across the community, half of the Community "Forums" boards said Questions and half did not so we removed the word "Questions" in the titles of the boards to be uniform.  This also allows more flexibility so members of our community will know they can post non-question items here also. We are going to test this format for the titles for now and we if it is "intuitive" enough by the existing content that this is the pl
