Hi all,First of I would like to say this should probably be in the university section however no one has posted there in over 2 months.I'm in my first year of university and did a design module using PTCs Creo 2.0 which meant I was eligible to download it for free, which I did. I was using an AMD based system but wanted to switch over to intel so I could get a beefier processor but that meant I needed a new motherboard, which in turn meant I had to input my product code (or what ever it is that you use to activate the student edition) but I deleted the email over 4 months ago which meant I couldn't use the program. Is there anyway that I could redownload creo 2.0 and get my activation code again?hopefully the answer is yes because I really need it for my assignment.
For those of you in Week 1 Regionals, how did it go? What did you learn? How did your robots fare? Our team participated in the inaugural local Central Illinois Regional, which was full with a full complement of 40 robots - and of them only one rookie team.Woodie Flowers was in town for the kick off, which was great. I was able to represent PTC at the breakfast meeting with Woodie and many Cat executives (Cat is a sponsor of many teams in the area). PTC had at least 3 sponsored teams in attendance (including us).We were as high as 7th in qualifying, but ended up in the middle teens after 3 losses the 2nd day. We were picked on the 6th seed alliance and won through to the finals against the #1 alliance (who hadn't lost a match yet and had an OPR of something like double ours). We won 140-something to 70-something in the first match. Lost by a narrow margin in the 2nd. Then lost by 9 in the 3rd. So we ended up 2nd. A great job by all the students, I'm proud of them.We have some work to do
Where is the "Breakeven Analysis" that is mentioned in the Cost Calculator how-to video? We tried to re-download the excel sheet but can't find it in any of the tabs.
How are we supposed to choose "Additional Flight Controls"/"C3"/"Onboard Sensor Options" etc from the Detailed Background Guide for the Cost Calculator? I read through the background information, but it looks like most of the additional components are completely optional, with little information given about how to determine whether or not there's a need for these components.Still, there are requirements listed under each different Airframe (A, B, etc) that specify number of antennas and other additional components like that--are we supposed to just follow those requirements, according to our catalog airframe selection?
I have a student who installed Creo 2.0 Student edition. When she goes to open Parmetric her computer tells her that Creo stopped working. Any idea what is going on there?
Hi All,If you have a technical problem with Creo, Windchill or Mathcad please follow the link below and make a post in the Academic Support Forum.http://communities.ptc.com/community/academic-program/supportThanks!PTC Academic Support
Hello,I have made the model of the wings, including wings, fuselages, vertical/horizontal stablizer, but I did not follow the instruction (RWDC_how.pdf) since it was really outdated. But I did used the correct airfoil for the wings. Does this mean I have to restart the whole model? If I can use my own created model, what is some factors I have to measure to make sure it works?
Hi! I'm a student in France at INP, and I would like to know if is it possible to use the version Creo 2.0 Edition Student for mac ? If it is could explain me where it's the link Cheers ! Johan
To whom it may concern,I was able to install and run Creo parametric 2.0 Student edition however when I try to open the PTC learning Connector nothing loads inside the box. I have tried reinstalling with no success. please advise.Thank you in Advance
Everytime we try to create the Wing in CREO 2.0 using the instructions given in MathCAD.This was there error we kept on getting.Has anyone else experienced this problem and how did they fix it?
I am using a student edition of creo parametric 2.0. The problem is that whenever i select any option in the help menu, the software hangs. Even though the internet is working properly, the online help wont work and rather hangs. Since i am new to creo, I would appreciate help with this issue.
Is the specs sheet for the "Pure Rotorcraft" in the Baseline Cad Models folder unfinished? It seems to be missing a bunch of items that our team needs to complete the Mathcad worksheets.
While working on the configurator - Both of my teams noted that the weight estimator has information filled in for wing planform area, horizontal tail planform area, vertical tail planform area, wing aspect ratio, takeoff weight...... Last year we got this information from VSP since we were designing everything. This year since we have the cad models where do we get this information or what we are using from the cad models?
Hi,I cannot find the tutorials; CAd_Tutorial_Pusher or CAD_Tutorial_otherconfigs on the website provided plms4schools.ptc.com.I was able to sign in but when I search for those I cannot find them. Please helpThanks,Jon
Want to take your CAD files with you on your iPod, iPad or iPhone? Go for it with Creo View Mobile. This FREE app will let you you view any CAD files that have been saved in the PVZ format. Just pick File, Save A Copy and change the file type to "Creo View PVZ". Easiest way to get it on your mobile device is to email it to yourself and open on your mobile device with the Creo View Mobile app installed. This is a great way to create a digital portfolio or engineering notebook of your designs to share with FIRST judges at the competitions. If your team is using Windchill for CAD data management, you'll want to pick up Windchill Mobile app. It comes with Creo View Mobile built-in and allows you direct access to the files you've uploaded in Windchill.
Download does not work.....results " can not find file"Have tried both types of downloads several times
Hi All, I have a problem here when i open any part for simulation using creo simulate 2.0 stand alone app it opens the part and suddenly blink & disappear without displaying any warning or error. I am using creo 2.0 student edition date code M010. I am using this on windows 8.1, 4 GB of ram, Intel core i3 3rd Generator Processor and 1 Gb Graphics of Nvidia Geforce 630M.Kindly help. Thanks
I believe I downloaded all of the academic version from your website, it was 4.17 GB, although the web site said something like 4.485 GB I thought I had done everything correctly I followed the Creo 2 Student Installation Guide instructions The icons all install on the desktop and under programs, but they don't work I got an email saying I have a backup license in the event the one downloaded gets lost I guess Nothing seems to work
We are chugging along and are a little stuck on step 2.1.5 in the process workflow: For step 2.1.5. in the process workflow, we must "Using provided CAD models, place the major components in your aircraft fuselage to make sure there is room"... Where the heck are these .prt or .asm files? We can't find them anywhere and there is no reference to them in the sensor catalogue section of the Detailed backround guide. We do have to attach them to the Baseline CAD model right? We have made choices for our sensors based on the V. Sensor (Payload) Selection Guidelines and Catalog Options section of the Detailed Backround guide, but we thought there was an actual document or location called Sensor (Payload) Selection Catalog. where actual CAD files of the sensors would be provided. Are we mistaken? Do we need to determine mounting hardware for step 2.1.5. or is "attaching" in creo sufficient? Are there presentation notes posted anywhere? Such as a pdf or ppt of the presentation during webinars?
As a teacher at a high school, I use the PLMS system to supplement the student learning. It is a very good way for the students to gain additional instruction to support their in class efforts. This semester, I went to add my new students to my account, so I could assign them course modules, and I discovered that I could not add a group / students to my setup. In fact, after trying a few things, I completely lost the administration option from my account. What happened? I would really like to get this back. The demonstrations, procedures and multiple choice questions were a great supplement to the classroom project work. Thanks for any help or support.-Brett
Just recently got the PTC Creo and downloaded it on my computer. When trying to open the Creo Parametric or any other PTC product, I keep getting this message. Any suggestions on what to do?
Its been a quiet build season for both FTC and FRC. Now that FTC teams have started competitions and FRC is set to start next week, I'm wondering how everyone is doing? There's still so much to think about; drivers station, battery cart, shop in-a-box, autonomous code, final tweaks and repairs, FMEA, travel logistics, BOM, engineering notebook, inspection checklist, scouting plan, buttons and so many more.Love to hear some updates from teams. What went well this year? What challenges did you overcome? Did PTC Robotalk prepare you for the season and your CAD designing?-Scott
Hi everyon e, I was wondering where exactlywe can aquire the scalable fuselage CAD model that the workflow refers to. does this refer to the basline platforms or is this a seperete file?
Has the mission planning sheet come out for the challenge for the 2013-2014 school year? I checked on the Getting Started Page and do not see it. Will it be a different one from what was used last year? The reason I ask is that I noted the camera footprint sheet takes about tall trees and there are no tall trees in Iowa....at least not on the corn field.
Does anybody know if this years RWDC has a Configurator excel file to use yet.
