"Why do I have to sign up and log in to watch tutorials?"   PTC University Learning Exchange is a free service and we are putting a huge effort in expanding the site on an ongoing basis. By asking our users to log in, we learn more about how people are using the site – how often they come to visit, and what products and topics they are interested in. This intelligence allows us to better focus our site development on the users’ needs.   The other, more immediate benefit is that the users can see their account history once logged in. We have added this functionality in 2013, after many people had requested this. I need to set a flat surface tangent to a hole (so a screw will go thru a slot). When I try to make the constraint, it ALWAYS selects the tangency such the the slot is next to the hole, instead of over. There are two valid tangency points (either side of the hole) but I cannot find any way to tell it to use the other point. How do I instruct the program to set the tangent constraint based on the other valid location?

I caught up on the Webinars this week and I have been very impressed with the qulity and usefulness of all of them. Now we are working on completing the exercises. We created an outline for "How to Develop a Product" and "How to Model Almost Anything". It helps us locate a specific exercises. I am posting here in case anyone else is interested.

I am a 'Team Member' on windchill; I have been trying to add a workspace to my windchill workspaces page. The dialog asks for me to select a context, when I click the drop-down box, nothing appears. If i leave it blank, Windchill gives me an error saing that I must select a context. As I understand it, the available contexts shoud be any windchill projects that I am a part of. In the help documentation, it says that in order to access a context, I must both: be a team member and have read access to the project cabinet. I have been unable to find how to get to the cabinet to figure out if i have read access or how to get it. If anyone can help me figure out how to create a workspace, that would be very helpful.

Whenever I start up Creo Parametric 1.0 a message pops up saying " You must register the quality agent in order to continue running Creo Parametric in tryout mode". Another window pops up saying "Creo is shutting down because it could not register the quality agent , which is required in tryout mode. If you called technical support about this problem, report error 8". ( I can't contact technical support apparently because my account type which is a student and it's free)

Hi,I'm an engineer student in Denmark working for a engineering company as part of my education. At this moment we are working on some parts we need to have tested/simulated before making prototypes and test the parts irl.I'm have installed on my computer:Creo Direct 1.0Creo Distributed Batch 1.0Creo Parametic 1.0Creo Simulate 1.0Creo View Express 1.0Legacy Structure 1.0Legacy ThermalModelCHECKThe workers in the company uses AutoCAD and we have run into some problem regaring the two programs working together.AutoCad can save to these types of files:I want to have as much "mobility" to wotk on the drawings as possible so which type of file should the company use in order for me to work with them?I will need to make changes on the drawings, I will need to simulate/test a given force to a part. I want to change between materials the parts are made from and I need to make a presentation of the part with colors, backgrounds etc.Do you have any recommendations?Best Regards,Thomas

Looks like the models for both Omni Wheel parts in the Tetrix Kit of Parts are for the 4" wheel:Is there a correct model for TETRIX part W731132 (3" Omni Wheel) available for the 2012 KOP? Whenever I create anything in Creo, the dimensions are impossible to read. I am using creo 2.0 student edition.

You guys have been a great deal of help to our team so far. Thank You!We do have another issue that I'm unsure how to resolve.We created this claw, and have pin joints between in the following areas. Everything looks like it will work perfectly, I just cannot figure out how to connect the motor back to the motor housing, since I've already constrained it to the arm. Is there a different way to constrain the pieces so they will form a complete loop?

Hello! I have a problem with intalation Creo Elements pro 5.0 Schools Edition. I have an Internet connection, but when I click "generate licence file" it says "this mode requires internet connection to connect ptc.com". Please help

There are three versions of Creo listed on the Academic download site. Previously there were issues with some versions of Creo working with Windchill. For the RWDC, should we download and install Creo 2.0, 1.0 or Pro?

This functionality is only available in our eLearning Libraries through PTC University Precision LMS. There, all models for all exercises are included in the eLearning license. Among the latter, the majority is with sound, but some are without.   Each contributor at PTC can decide about his/her preferred format. HiI have imported a model as a prt. and reworked it in Creo Parametric, now I need to save it as an stl. so it can be 3D printed.But for some reason it's not actually saving as an stl. The model is solid and saves as a prt. easily but how do I get an stl. out of it?ThanksJeremy

Hello,I have just installed Creo 2 and I cannot get it running at all. Specifically, clicking shortcut icons or windows start menu icons does nothing, the only confirmation that I get from my computer that i clicked those icons is that I get a little loading circle by my pointer for about a second and thats it. Nothing opens, no apps launch, no processes or services lunch, nothing. I have triend reinstalling and I have tried updating my graphics driver and neither has helped.Thank you.

This is a basic Creo color file that includes the primary colors. Students often ask me for more colors and why Creo does not come with more configured colors. I cannot say why it does not come with more, but you can see how easy it is to add more. Just open the Appearance Manager and Open this file to add a huge set of colors to My Appearances. If you want to have Creo load it every time, just leave it in your My Documents folder or set the config.pro option pro_colormap_path to identify the folder you are keeping the color map and appearance files.
