I've been inviting team members to our Windchill Project. Most have had no problem, but one team member sent me the following email:"I tried to join the project but didn’t have a log in- I created a PTC user account-but now how do I get it to link up to this project?"It seems she has a log-in for the site but it's not associated with our project. Any ideas how to help?
Hi all,I'm a student at The University of New Mexico that's currently taking an engineering course under the instruction of Robert Greenlee. We were instructed to to create a PTC account and download Creo Elements/Pro 5.0 Schools Edition (formerly Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire 5.0), for free, from the main PTC website via this link:http://apps.ptc.com/schools/Creo_ElementsPro_Schools_DVD.zipThe file download completes, but everytime I try to open the file it is corrupted. Windows explorer also states that the file is only 2.0 GB in size when it is clearly supposed to be 3.6 GB (file size listed on download page). What is going wrong here? Is the file on PTC's servers corrupted or is this an issue on my end?I'm running Windows 7 64-bit Professional and have attempted downloading the file through Chrome and Internet Explorer.
First of all the download stops after 7% and wont go any further. And second question is im running windows7 64 bit. Is this proE compatible?
I had a problem starting my Pro E. I tried reinstalling it on my computer without uninstalling the program. That did not work. So I uninstalled Pro E and now it opens and seems to work but the program as soon as it opens tells me the license is no good. This is the only computer I have this installed.I sure hope this means there is just something I am over looking. Has anyone else had this problem resolved?
Can anyone tell me how I can insert parameters into the file list of items so that I can search for files related to them, i.e. customer, quote number, etc.The parameters exist I just cannot figure out how to define a screen view that will show the parameters in the list of available items.
Hi,I am a student in the Universidad EAFIT at product design engineering . This is a small example of the products that we develop in the program. Many products are designed and modeling in ProEngineer/ Creo Parametric.I would like to learn a little more about my experience and how they affect ouracademic development.http://www.eafit.edu.co/programas-academicos/pregrados/ingenieria-diseno-producto/Paginas/galerias.aspxSee you!

I bought last saturday creo elements/pro 5.0 student edition for private use.At first, I have the same 2% problem like other owner of a web installation version butI found the link to the DVD-file in this forum !Then I saw that the host-id in the license-file is a mac adress of a virtual nic, not of the correct nic.I changed the license file with a ascii editor. Now, if I try to install the software again and the installation routine asks for thelicense file, then a error meassage appear (That is not a valif flexlm license file). The license file seems to be damaged and the support did not answer me (mail)So has anybody an idea, how can I fix this problem? Thanks,Stefan
I have followed the instructions in page 25 of module 8 in the W5 Exercise and reference guide to create driven dimensions to avoid the need for students to do math to ascertain dimensions they need when building the product they have modelled. In Dimension - New references, I selected an edge and it changed to red colour but no dimension resulted. What have I overlooked?
Thanks again for attending the Creo 1.0 for Education Webcast! My name is Ned Daniels; I am the Business Development Manager for Mathcad in Academia. We had a chance to invite a lot of people to this webinar at ASEE, and quite a few of you had questions about Mathcad, and how it interacts with Creo. Feel free to reply with any questions or comments below that you may have following the webcast and I’d be glad to help.
Thanks again for attending the Creo 1.0 for Education Webcast! I am Alister Fraser the Education Program manager for PTC North America. It was a great pleasure today to announce the release of Creo 1.0 for our acadmic partners in North America. If you have any questions comments about your existing licensces or suggestions on how PTC can better support your undergraduate or post graduate programs I would be happy to answer them here.
This is an exercise made in FreeStyle of Creo Parametric 1.0. The model is the same as to the one made in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ItCfgKs9OJk, which is modeling in Catia. I hope so , you like!! Modeling in Creo 1.0 Rendering in Creo 1.0
hey guys, I need some help regarding the license installation. My company recently bought Mathcad Prime 1.0 with Mathcad 15 and was installed to my office desktop PC. The company is providing me a laptop that I can carry anywhere for business use. My old PC will then be formatted and will be used by an officemate. Now my question is, is it possibel to re-install Mathcad 15 into the new laptop? I've heard about transferring Mathcad license that is allowed during the maintenance period, but that will not be the case because the new laptop will be my "permanent" computer. Can you refer me to a discussion regarding this? Thank you.
So anyway I am setting up roaming profiles with redirection for my new Windows domain, and I have Pro/E schools edition on one of the test computers, and the Home directory set to N: (\\lhs.internal\ns\users\AccountName). (DFS Share)At startup and exit, Pro/E complains to me that the document recovery files are being saved on the server, and scolds me to choose a local path.,Listen, we have gigabit to the desktop. I am not the slightest bit concerned about network file performance, and we are never going to be editing objects with hundreds or thousands of part/assembly files.I would kindly like to silence these nagging warnings from Pro/E.
We all learn something new every day. Even the most advanced engineers experience some challenges during the design process. At PTC University, we love learning, especially on-going learning which helps to communicate the newest features of technology that is ever-changing. You've asked all the questions, about everything from assembly functionality to 2D and 3D interface, now let's answer them - for the benefit of all! Take Assembly for example...Did you know that changes to View Manager items must be saved manually in Creo Elements/Pro (formerly Pro/ENGINEER)? As you may know, View Manager provides multiple ways to view your model assemblies, features and components. View Manager functions include: view orientations; explode states; view styles; cross sections; layers; and simplified representations. Design changes made within View Manager affect only a working version of the model, which can be saved as a View Manager item–however, true design does not change. You must manually sav
I had WF4.0 installed on my vista laptop and vista desktop, ordered on May 6 2009.I upgraded my laptop to Windows 7 Professional after getting fed up with vista time and time again, so I only had WF4.0 on my desktop.2 weeks ago, my desktop hard drive finally burned up (quite literally, i must say), so I bought a new drive and installed 7 professional on it as well.I emailed - about getting my license reconfigured on June 28, 2011 at 12:22 PM central time, I never received a reply, so I re-sent it at 11:48 PM central time on July 3. I still have no received a reply. So I broke down and bought WF5.0 internet download, July 7 2011.I have tried both x86e_win64_installer.exe and i486_nt_installer_10.exe and both behave the same way- they show 100% download progress almost instantly, but stall at 2% copy file status, whether I select 64 or 32 bit install, on either file. I even right clicked and told Windows to install it with Vista SP1 settings, rather than Win7 native. No dice. What gives? N
Hi, it appears WF5 Student has issues with both the manikin and the Wedlding symols. As WF5 Student version is released some 12+ months after the release of WF5 i'm surprised the issues hasn't been fixed. The main issue is that is still assumes you are using a commercial version and so won't work .The problem is if i buy another Student version of WF5 (creo) there is no assurance these issues have been fixed. So do you wait even longer until Creo is released and buy it then.PTC advertised that WF5 Student had manikin and weld symbol functionality but there is no way to contact them to find anything out if you are not a full maintenace paying user. I'm not asking for upgrades but just what was advertised. It seems really poor that it is releassed more than a year after WF5 and no one at PTC found these problems. So if anyone knows if there has been a fix i would be really pleased to hear from you as i am at the end of any avenues to try and fix this problem. If CReo element has the issue
I am trying to extrude a part from a saved sketch.I started by Menu bar>New>Part, thenMB>Insert>Extrude, thenDashboard displays "Placement" in red.Left Click on "Placement" displays a drop down menu which requests either:-Select an existing sketch by clicking "Collector", orDefine an internal sketch.I cannot see a "Collector"
When I try to apply a weld in WF5 student edition I get a message indicating that the Weld symbol library was generated in the Commercial Edition, and cannot be opened in the Student Edition. Please see attached file. This (and the lack of Manikin files, and who knows what other deficiencies are lurking) should be brought to the attention of PTC's Quality Assurance department, if they even have one any more. It's unfortunate that this doesn't work. The students in my class were eager to see the welding capabilities in Pro/E, but I couldn't demonstrate them. The students really liked my demo of the welding tools in Solidworks 2010, however.
I have been learning to use CAM-Lite with the student edition for personal use. There are two things I have not been able to figure out:1. How to get the shaded video (Vericut) to function.2. How to get the CL file to post to G codes. Can anyone help me out some?If this is not the correct discussion group, please let me know.Thank you.
Hi,when i try to create a licence for Creo ElementsPro University it says that he cant reach the servers. What do i make wrong? Internet and everything works fine.
Help Please someone!I purchased the Student edition of PROE because I want to improve my CAD modelling skills at home, just as a hobby really.I downloaded the NT version as I presume this is what I need for a Windows 7 computer ?..i looked under the My computer tab and it said it I have a 32 bit operating system so I presume this is correct ?.I presume the download with a 64 in the file name is for a 64 bit. ?The registration process went okay but now I can't install more than 2% without freezing..How long should I leave it running I have left it several hours now and nothing ....Any help appreciatedRegardsSteve
Jordan Cox, Ph. D., FIRST Program Manager at PTC, has just written this article as a guest blog on the Mathcad blog. As this PlanetPTC Community section is dedicated to FIRST, I thought, I'd reference it here for your information.Bettina"One of the greatest challenges in the 21st century is workforce development. The need for technical employees trained in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) has never been greater. Recent studies show that the need will only increase in the years to come. As the technological demands of society continue to increase, and our ability to consume and our desire to explore new technologies expands, the need for creative and capable scientists, technologist, engineers, and mathematicians continues to increase.Current educational trends do not appear favorable to meet these demands in the technical workforce. Fewer and fewer students are choosing a STEM related field as they move into post-secondary educational institutions. There is a critical
I am using school edition ProE. I need to combine two systems together. One of the systems has more than 30 part. I select the add component icon to add system 2 asm into system 1 (still OK)ProE will auto close if I do one of the followingA. I move system 2 around and try to do the alignment, rotation, etc B. Try to save the asm fileIs it a limitation of school edition or just my computer has problem?PLease help
I haven't any problem with the install but the program will not run after the splash screen appears then disappears. I'm running WF4.0 without any problem but can't seem to get Creo pro 5.0 to run. I am DL WF5.0 again and see if it may be the version that I downloaded the first time. Thanks,Thomas Felty
