Hi. Is there a free student download for Wildfire 5.0? If there is can you please post a link. Thanks!
I am attempting to install Pro/ENGINEER Schools Edition Wildfire 5.0(M040). The installer went all the way to the finish, however when I attempted to launch PTC.exe, the program folder shortcut did not work. I looked in the correct bin folder and PTC.exe was not present, although other program files were. I attempted to reinstall, and the installer hangs at 2%.Can someone offer some help with this?
I have a bit of a problem with my mouse cursor when using Pro/E Wildfire 4.0 student version. The point at which the cursor selects is not at the tip of the arrow but has shifted down below the arrow. Here is a photo of the problem, you can see the little yellow x is below the arrow but should be at the tip of the arrow. I'm not sure how I can fix this, but it would help a lot. Thanks for any info. [/img]
This Mathcad file calculates the drive train motor (for toughbox and sprocket gearing using a CIM motor). Illustrations and explenations in the file
I just had to ask. 2011 KOP available yet?
Hi there,Just after some advice.I've got a free version of the student edition of wildfire 5 Pro/E through my University. The software is running fine but installed on my old laptop which i have now upgraded. Can anyone tell me if it is possible for me to transfer my license of the software on to my new laptop?ThanksSimon
Has anyone found the middle pole ass'y, part GE-11003, in the 2011_FRC_FOP folder? GE-11003 file shows the fasteners, but not the complete assembly. Thanks,Ken Snodgrass
What is the best/fastest way to load/import all of the KOP models into a Windchill Library or "COMMONSPACE" Folder? Not very good with Windchill yet but it would be tedious to load one at a time or as multiple parts/documents. Can it be put in all teams' Projects?
We are having problems starting Mechanica is ProE. When we go applications and chose Mechanica, the Mechanica Model Setup dialog box opens and we leave the defaults and choose OK. A License Check message box pops up stating, "Unable to get required Mechanica license. Please contact your sales rep."If we go back the to Mechanica Model Setup and check FEM Mode, Mechanica seems to run. The default has Model type selected as "Structure" and the Defalt Interface as "Bonded." And when we check FEM Mode, "Merge Coincident Nodes" under Properties is also checked. This works in the beginning, however, going through the Analysis video, we can get through all the massing of points, weighting of links, and setting surfaces to Aluminum 7001, but when we go to the meshing part, we get stuck. We have the error message that it can't mesh because the weighted link between the spars at Point 53 doesn't work. It says "A Weighted Link with no reference nodes has been found. Meshing is terminated. Source: F
Hi everyone, Our lab has been using ProE/Wildfire 4.0. I cannot open the 2011 KOP with it. I can open parts in Wildfire 5.0 that I loaded at an FRC training in the fall on my personal laptop. Is there anyway to use 4.0 with the KOP? Thanks. Jean-Ann
Hi,Is there a way to mirror a sub asm in my main asm ? thanks
The kickoff weekend was filled with several events that showcased the mutual commitment between FIRST and PTC, including John Stuart's speech at the Founders Reception. The file can be downloaded, http://robotics.nasa.gov/first/2011/kickoff/FIRSTKickoffOpenCaptions.wmvSee an animation of this year's challenge

Pro/Engineer Schools Eidition runs very slowly on my laptop, specificly datum highlighting which seems to take 10-15 seconds...I have a Windows 7 Ulti 32 laptop with a Dual Core 2.0 GHz Processor and 2GB of ram.I've installed ProE on less powerful system without an issue, and ideas? Maybe a regeneration issue of some sort?Thank you for any help!
Hi,small question. i built a part in proe (creo elements pro ) now i know its going to be manufactured using bends. how can i flatten it? is there a feature that does it? thanks,Itzik
I just want to throw this question out to the community. Are you using Mathcad in any way, shape or form to help design your FRC or FTC robot? As a mentor, I'm just dying to use this stuff, I just haven't found the time to implement it and don't have the teacher involvement to help...yet.I would love to hear ways that other teams are using Mathcad.
If any FIRST mentors are interested in having PTC staff a workshop, please send a request to www.ptc.com/go/firsthow.
Hi all, I am mentoring 3316 in Israel. so far i got them hooked and working pretty nicely with Creo. I am looking for refrences for "cool stuff" that Creo can do. im not such an advanced user myself so im basicly looking for something that has a buzz effect (more than your regular tutorials on ptc university)anything recommended? (this could become a thread to gather refrences
Hi all,I am the Academic Program Manager for Mathcad at PTC. I know that some FIRST Mentors make use of Mathcad in FIRST (or their courses) and others never install the software. I want to introduce myself so that folks will know that they have a contact for Mathcad at PTC.I joined PTC in June after 20 years' experience in math education as a teacher, researcher, and teacher educator. In the short time I have been at PTC, I have become very excited about FIRST! What a great program! Over the next few years I look forward to working closely with Jordan Cox, Mark Fisher, Sheila Rogers, and Adam Haas to support all of the teachers, students, and volunteer mentors who make FIRST such a great program. In the meantime, here are some resources to help you understand Mathcad's capabilities:Videos:Better Homework with MathcadMultiple Representations with MathcadLive Math with MathcadBlog Entries:Five Good Reasons to Teach with MathcadWhy don't my students love Mathcad as much as I do?Matrices in
http://www.ptc.com/appserver/mkt/educational/program.jsp?&im_dbkey=111982&icg_dbkey=851 I have downloaded the file to my desktop, run through the install process and have a folder on my computer. However, I have NO idea where to go from here. There is no icon to open the program and several links within the folder. Please help a newbie figure out how to start the program! 🙂
Hi FIRST Mentors...I am new to FIRST and the PTC community, though I have been using ProE for 14+ years while at Schneider Electric. I am helping several local Eastern Iowa FTC teams this year, and I will also be a hardware inspector volunteer for scrimmages and our championship.I have Creo 5 up and running on my machine, and so far it looks good. The FTC parts and field came across fine too.Chad
Great to see Robin on NASA TV for the FRC kickoff!
Hi all,I just attended scott morris webinar and i have a question regarding working in windchill with cad files.is there a tutorial\pdf file about how to work with cad files in windchill? if i have an asm and i checked it in, do i have to check in all the prt related to it? lets say i did, and i want to check out the asm, do i have to also check out all the prt related to it ? awaiting replythanks,Itzik
Hi everybody! Happy New Year!I am new member here. Do you still know what I did last summer? Well, I do: I bought a Pro/E WF4 Student license and designed some small parts and an electric generator which is already running now (some neodyme magnets, about one kg of copper wire and some laser cutted alumnium and iron parts). The generator is now installed in a modified "cross trainer" and works pretty nice. Next step would be to attach it to a wind wheel ...My problem: After a system crash I had to re-install my full system. But now I can't install WF4 Student anymore. After some investigations I have a suspicion that the ptc server doesn't provide the neccessary installation files (everything works fine until we come the the download part of the installation, then no further network activities can be observed). Can I download the full installation pack somewhere - a zip or iso or something like that? Thanks, Achim
Where exactly do you find the scoring rubric? I have not been able to locate it
