Just ran into this article and thought it would be a good topic for discussion! "Failure, mistakes, mishaps — they all play a vital role in helping employees learn and grow, too." The article suggests organizations to embrace rather than penalize mistakes so employees will be able to take risks and try out new things and sees mistakes as an opportunity for learning and growth. What are your thoughts on this? I do agree with the theory, but I think this cannot be generalized - taking risks can be a good thing, but only to a certain extend and this really depends on your role and responsibilities. I also think while you may be willing to take risks, you are not doing this because you are wanting to fail. You take them but you are still hoping for a positive outcome. Thus, you will do the most possible to avoid failure. In regard to training, you can approach this from two sides: You fail: You now know where your gaps are and can take training to improve your

Hi Exparts, I am completely new in 3D modelling softwares. Because of some modelling requirements I have started learning from Youtube tutorials. The first chapter of the tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AdlHQYHr4L8 uses PRT_CSYS_DEF Which has different xyz direction than what I have on my machine DEFAULT_CSYS. See image below. And because of that I am facing trouble in following the tutorial and dont get exactly what expected. I can undestand this is because the tutorial using different direction to draw while if i follow it exactly will make the drowigng on other direction and as a result it wont produce the same result. Especially when I use Extrude. Can someone please help me to get exact direction of XYZ as shown on the tutorial.
Hello, i wanna cut the shape of a golf ball out of a plane shown in the picture in Creo Parametric. Any guide/tutorial on how to do that? Thanks

Hello User Community, My name is Matt Huybrecht, and I work for PTC under the PTC University group. Our team writes training materials for customers like yourselves to learn how to use PTC Software. Our team is currently working on a new course that uses a different format and style, and we are interested in getting some feedback from you, the user community. Level of commitment from you would be a 2 hour (or so) meeting where we can show you some of the new course and get your feedback on it. Timing will be some time in the next couple of weeks. Interested? Reach out to me at mhuybrecht@ptc.com or PM me. Thanks! Matt
How can potential customers evaluate Creo if we cannot access the tutorials ? They seem to be available on the paid side of things and not to the 30 day evaluators. Am I missing something as far as the source for these tutorial files? Regards all JM
Hi everyone, I've been working on autorouting using CreoSchematics3.0 in order to create the logical information (xml file) and CreoParametric2.0 Thing is, I have seen tutorials like this one which explains how to parameter ports: http://learningexchange.ptc.com/tutorial/2894/designating-connectors-with-entry-port-parameters I just don't see the advantages of doing so... When I want to route wires, I create a coordonate system in CreoParametric with a name "entry_1" for example, which corresponds to the port name in CreoSchematics. Therefore the link is done, and the cabling application recognizes the port of such part and what it corresponds to, and the aurouting works (wires route) My questions is what is the usefulness of doing such work with the port parameters in CreoParametric, as described in the video from the link I gave. I'd be thankful for some explanations Best regards Ambroise
Hi, We want to evalulate stiffness in Torsional, Bending and Lateral direction. so please can we let us know any tutorial or userguide to find stiffeness. - Sandeep
I am trying to create a milling tool from a solid model. It is a special shape that I want to make sure cuts correctly. The solid model has 1 feature - Revolve. When I am in a manufacturing file, these are the steps I am taking: click Tools Setup, File, New, Open Tool Library - By Reference... and I choose the solid model. But nothing happens. I remember in training we did this and the model came right up. I think the difference may be that the solid had named dimensions such as length, cutter dia. etc. Do I need to do this with my solid model for it to work? If so, how do I name those dimensions in my solid? Is there anything else I am missing? I have attached the cutting tool file just in case that helps. Thanks,Brandon
Hello all. Our company is moving from Creo 2 to 3. (I know, we are slow to adopt new things!) The last time we updated to Creo 2, we all went to a training course for two or three days if I recall. Quite honestly, the guy who taught the class, pretty much just read from the same binder of materials that we were all provided with anyway. I'm looking for suggestions that others might have used to help us out. I've played with 3.0 a little bit, and I don't think there is a lot of new things. Any youtube videos that you would recommend? I'm wondering if PTC has the same type of "binder" of information available without having to pay for an actual instructor to come in? (I've contacted PTC, waiting for a call back). Thanks in advance. Sid

I know this may seem a bit off topic, but in all reality I think it's appropriate to this venue.I've been setting up a training lab for a couple of Creo users we are bringing onto our Admin team.I've setup two VM's using VirtualBox, using the Internal Network option so the machines can't see the host or external network. Both are Windows 7 machines. One machine has the same name and MAC address as our production license server and it has our production licenses installed on it.The other machine is client with a random MAC address, and has Creo 4 installed on it using the license from the first VM.All of this works as expected. I've run into a problem with the license server that I don't know how to solve. When I try to open the FLEXnet Admin Web Interface,I get these errors:I'm no Windows networking expert, and certainly don't know how to set this up in VirtualBox.Any help would be appreciated!
I've seen tutorials for creating cycloidal or epicycloidal using SolidWorks & Blender. Can anyone tell me where to find a tutorial or instructions on how to do this with CREO 2.0?

Hello, We recently had some PTC in-house Creo training and discussed / demo'd this tool - XMA. Very interesting. I just found out that my company has a license for NC Sheetmetal and I would like to utilize it for nesting flat patterns in an attempt to maximize material/minimize scrap. I wanted to see if anyone could point me to a tutorial or recommend a book that would help me get up to speed wit this module? I checked the PTC learning materials and it appears that there is no training for NC Sheetmetal (only the Sheetmetal design module).
Hello guys, I'm a totally new creo user. I'm getting started with it and I'm looking for the CAD files used in some tutorial and manuals I found. The problem is that the only files I get are for the 3.0 creo version while I still use the 2.0 one. Do anyone known where I can get those files for the 2.0 version? I'm looking for the files of the basic lessons. Any advice? Thank you a lot in advance.
We just installed Creo 2 M210 and it has Moduleworks. I ran a test and it stops at the tap cycle and I can't figure out why. Has anyone else ran into this? Also is there any help or training type stuff online somewhere? Thanks Bernie
