Recognizing the need to address organizational Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) and maintain its market leadership and reputation for quality, Hewlett Packard’s Enterprise Group did a corporate level assessment of its internal quality strategy and tactics, then engaged PTC to assess the state of the reliability engineering processes and tools. The PTC assessment uncovered opportunities to apply a best-practice approach by creating more integrated reliability analysis processes across the product lifecycle. The presenter will provide background on the motivation for the organizational assessment of quality strategies, current state of the Quality Lifecycle in EG, the findings from the PTC reliability assessment, the past and current solution initiatives, and the expected value to be realized. Aerojet Rocketdyne (AR) successfully completed a company-wide three year effort implementing a comprehensive PTC Windchill Implementation of 10.1. To ensure success, AR contracted with PTC Global Services and PTC Partners while working with PTC Research and Development and the Technical Committees. The migration included four major systems (Team Center Unified, Team Center Enterprise, SAP and Documentum), multiple databases and integrating into our current production PTC Windchill PDMLink 10.1 environment used for PTC Creo CAD. PTC modules incorporated include PTC Windchill PDMLink, PTC Multi-CAD data management (PTC Creo, PTC NX, PTC AutoCAD, and PTC Mentor), PTC Windchill ProjectLink, PTC Windchill MPMLink (MBOM), ESI (Oracle), TechNotes and Arbortext. The presenter will explain the business drivers, scope of the implementation, strategic and tactical approach of pursuing minimal customization, data migration approach, integration and concurrent go-live with Oracle ERP, user tr
Moving from using PTC Windchill strictly as a CAD Document management system to using PTC Windchill as a PLM system requires extensive functionality testing to ensure a smooth rollout to the enterprise. Testing on a production environment isn't a viable option so a test environment is needed. Expectations for the test system performance are high but the budget available is low. By attending this presentation learn how to build a robust test environment on a limited budget. ECAD design data management is the ‘new frontier'. While this has been the ‘norm’ on the mechanical side for years, it is only now coming onto the radar for ECAD. By adding the challenges associated with team design and hierarchical design data management the process can become very complex very quickly. Understanding how to best integrate multiple people working together on multiple blocks while tracking revisions and integrations of each is key to successfully meeting the overall goals associated with a ‘single source of truth’ for all of the product design data. The presenters will demonstrate how to enable multi-user block-level management for hierarchical design using Cadence Team Design option with PTC Windchill.
