I am wanting to know how I can, or if I can, move the settings from our specific adobe.joboptions file into the Arbortext styler publishing engine. Our consultant informed us that the outputfile can be configured as a file within arbortext architect. The way they suggested was to print to the adobe pdf printer, which is how we do it currently with framemaker.So my question is C:\Program Files\PTC\Arbortext Editor\lib has smallfile, standard, screen, print.pdfcf files located in it. I expect that I would need to make a copy one of these files to change the pdf settings. I cannot seem to find any info on modifing the .pdfcf file or what sort of info is required in it.ThanksBryon

Hi Everyone,I've been testing some files for an update from Editor 5.3 - 5.4M80 and encountered a problem with the graphic spacing. It seems that in one of my file, the graphic was moved to another page because of an increase in the spacing between graphic and generated caption. I have nothing special in postspace setting just a zero space with precedence=none.I cant force it to use 0pt because it will re-flow the other pages. What I find weird also is that when I force it to use 8pt, then that graphic fit and look exactly as in 5.3, but decrease the space to 7pt, and again was pushed to the next page.I also tested this in 5.4 M60 and this is not a problem. Was looking at the release notes of 5.4 M70 and 5.4M80 and didnt see anything with regards to this.Anyone knows any work around for this or am I missing something?Thanks.Milton

Hi all,I've had good luck configuring the correct font sets for CJK languages by modifying the tfontsub file, ie., Serif/jpn -> DFSMGothic-Lt.But now I need to modify the font set for Vietnamese. Adding something like this doesn't seem to work: Serif/vnm -> Arial. Arbortext is rolling to my standard serif font first and then plugging in the default font. Can I add other languages to the tfontsub file?Thanks in advance for any guidance,Anne

Hi All,I am configuring Editor with a mixed content model modularised XML Schema, which uses the standard XHTML table model within 2 namespaces.<h:table> and <a:table><h:table> works out of the box and displays a visual table display in the editor window as its a common html namespace and support is build in, but not so for <a:table>. PTC support tell us this is not supported and will not work espcially as both can be used within different sections of the same instance. (So an enhancement request has been submitted!)I have tried many aproaches to force editor to recognise html tables within <a:table> or map it somehow, the only semi successfull stab was re-declaring the xmlns:a on the local a:table element pointing it to 'http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml/' this forces editor to display the table but breaks the rest of the XML/stylesheet validity in the process so is not a valid or practical editing option.Besides this, changing the schema (which is not an opti

Hi EveryoneWhat i though to be a simple task of adding doctype specific bold/italic and list tags in my .dcf file does not like namespaced tags or my doctype, e.g.<textstyles><bold element="h:b"/"><italic element="h:i"/">...on re-start and pressing the [B] / [I] , I get the error message: "[A20020] Document type is not configures for this formatting Style"Yet, when you right click in the appropriate liocation in the editor you can add these tags no problem with the 'insert markup' menu.So i am presuming it is to do with the h: namespace within the .dcf not being declared at this point, but having tried declaring it everywhere i can think of within and out of the dcf, still no luck.When i edit the .dcf in Editor/Architech inserting the element from the menu, it lists most of the different namespaced elements from my custom schema application correctly except for 2 groups, which come up as ns2: and ns3: instead of a: and h: . I was on my way out the door last night and misread your question. There is indeed a bug in Arbortext 6.0 when using Print Composer in batch mode, which can be fixed as described in my answer. However, that was not your question. I do not know the answer to your specific question about not using Distiller. That’s what I get for not reading carefully.

I am using editor 5.4 M080 with PDMLink 9.1 withfull textindexing turned on.I am trying to figure out how to do a phase search and have not been able to.I have to think that I am doing something wrong but just can't figure out.Any help would be greatly appreciated.Thanks in advance.

Make sense? The table title on the first page of the table has change bars.When the table runs across onto a second page, the repeat title living in afloat is not change barred.Has anyone been asked to change this behavior before? How'd you do it?-- Paul Nagai

I'm trying to hide some elements in the Document Map view. Is there a possibility to do so? I managed to hide element in the Edit View (using the Styler Hide option) but this doesn't work for the Document Map. Also, the ElementOption in the DCF file is meant to hide the element from the insert tag list's, not to hide content. Any suggestions?Regards, Geurt Lagemaat

Hi All,We are running Arbortext 5.4 till now and very soon to be migrate to 6.0 version. Through the documentation, I understood that, from 6.0 onwards, Arbortext uses Flexnet licensing system. Already we use the Flexlm server for other products like proe wf3/wf4/mathcad etc. I need to add the Arbortext 6.0 licence to the server without affecting the existing licenses.Please guide me on how I can proceed regarding this.Thanks,Sudhi

Adepters:We're using PE 5.3 Patch M190 to generate direct-to-PDF output. We have a requirement to deliver secure PDFs - you can open and read, but cannot save or copy/paste. Does anyone know if Arbortext supports this in any version of PE. If not, can someone recommend a third-party batch tool that could be inserted in the process to secure a PDF.Thanks,Dave Hintz

PDF is attached with pages from my book that are related to PDF linking, bookmarks, etc. Note thatnot all pages are consecutive. Dear All,I am exporting Arbortext data from one Windchill PDMLink server to another server using Export/Import manager. If some files are already existing in database the import fails .If anyone has faced the same situation please guide me how to write an import rule ignoring the files existing in database and completeing the import of other files.RgdsSudheer G

Hi all,This question may be silly, but I am totally new to this Arbortext 5.3 and I cannot make head or tail of anything I have a pdf file and a style sheet (.style). I just have to add a new element onto the pdf. This element's value will be taken from the .xml file. But i dont know how to do it I couldn't find any good tutorial site also.One more thing. Is there any option to create a pdf immediately in 53.3 so as to check if the changes made have been applied?In my system, the Arbortext PE convertes the .xml into .pdf with the help of the .style style sheet. I was wondering if it is possible to increment a variable myself in a footer or header.A footer looks likes this:Page 10/(11 blank)So I was hoping I could increment a counter variable myself in the footer or save the content of a counter variable to a text variable and add 1. I have a feeling this is not possible. I did create a second page counter to keep track of the blank pages but my numbers are off so I wanted to check for a shortcut before I tweak it.folioct,\/(\,pageno1-ct+1,\ blank)\ obviously doesn't work.

I have a user that is trying to view information/files through IE that are provided by another company. I'm trying to find out more information from him but at the moment he is telling me that the ISOView 7 'plugin' is provided by the external company. The problem that he is experiencing is that every time he tries to open a webpage with this information on that requires ISOView the windows installer pops up and asks for the location of the ISOView installer (.msi) and stops the page from loading. If you cancel these two boxes and stop the installer then the page loads fine and he is able to continue.   So far I have asked him to talk to this external company and see if we can get hold of the installer, as I can't find a copy of it here.   But I am just wondering if anyone has come across this before? Is the only solutions to uninstall and reinstall ISOView? Does ISOView 7 still exist as just a plugin? I have managed to download the WebCGM plugin... is that the same thing? &n

Dear fellow Adepters,Does anybody know if PTC has publicized some sort of roadmap regarding GUI customization of Arbortext Editor?I'm investigating the feasibility of developing a JavaScript based data binding framework for XUI, something that would be a major undertaking. Basically, I find XUI sound. But programming dynamic user interfaces using the DOM is utterly developer hostile, so I'd like to abstract that away.Given that it's 10+ years since XUI was introduced as sequel to Galaxy/ACL Designer, and that Arbortext Editor seems to become a single-platform application, I wouldn't be too surprised if PTC had something Windows specific in their sleeve (based on XAML/WinRT, like WPF/Silverlight). I'd hate to learn about such a thing after having spent months plumbing XUI...Thoughts, anybody?- Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays to you all!
