Hello, PTC Arbortext Editor version 8.1.3.1. I have a DITAmap document which includes several chapters.Each chapter has a bunch of topics/concepts.Each topic/concept is in a separate dita file (see example screenshot below).  In Web output, topics are displayed in the right side all together (see next screenshot below).When a topic is selected in the left menu, the right page scrolls to the selected topic.I need the right page to display only the content of the selected topic, as in a real navigation menu.How to do that? Hello i am currently working with styler and a Dita Map. In the styler i cannot see some elements that are not present in the map but are in the topicref. I can see then in the pink tags, but i cannot see them in the elements list. Some of this elements are sections and chapters, without then i cannot creat divisions in my document. Thank you 

All right gang please put your thinking caps I think I have a weird one. I create an IDR file with some hatching (See idr1.png). Then when I export the file out as a CGM (see cgm1.png) the hatching changes size on me. I tried to just scale the hatching up to the correct size but the quality is unacceptable. Anyone run into this before, and if so how were you able to correct the issue?

Hi,Do we have an option to restore the previous XML version objects (xml content) to the latest version?I'm using Arbortext editor 8.0.1 and Windchill to store the Xml's. Example: The current version is in A.10 and I want to restore the A.3 version to A.10.In the current method, we need to download the A.3 xml version from Windchill and open in Arbortext editor and copy-paste to restore. Thank you.Best regards,Manu

Hello, I am creating a stylesheet for a customer whose style guidelines require a footer/graphic/table numbering system that looks like this: 3.05-5 The first digit is the chapter number, the second two the sect1 number, and the last the page/graphic/table number. I can get the chapter and page/graphic/table numbers easily, using the defaults available in generated text. My problem is with the sect1 numbering - again, I can get the simple 1, 2, 3, etc., with no problem, but the requirement is for two digits, starting at 00, then incrementing by five for each new sect1 in a given chapter. This would give a series 00, 05, 10, 15 and so on. The logic I've worked out is:  if sect1 < 3("0"+(((sect1)*5)-5)), else (((sect1)*5)-5)  My problem is that I don't know how to do this in generated text. Would it be in ACL, XPath or would Javascript be appropriate? Would it be something else entirely? Any help greatly appreciated! Thank you. Jo

Hi,   We trigger APP sub-process in Arbortext Publishing Engine through activation files. When we place the activation files in local drive, PE sub-process is running properly. But when we place activation files in network share PE couldn't be able to take that Job.   Can we have some suggestions on that.   Note: 1. We are running TOMCAT server as a domain user which has all rights to the network server path 2. We are launching PE Sub-process as a domain user which has all rights to the server path. When input files are placed in network share, PE sub-process is able to take those files and process those files. But the activation files, files given in <input> and <output> tags of activation files are not identified by PE.

I have created two new stylesheets. When I use styler the default stylesheet is techinfo.style when publishing. When I rolled out the new stylesheets to the publishing engine the default is not the same. The new stylesheet seems to be the default not the techinfo.style stylesheet How do I make the techinfo.style my default.I have tried CS269879 How to set the default stylesheet in Arbortext Editorand Configuring Stylesheet Order in a List From the help Nothing seems to change. issue with some of character like face, hand , or some cloud symbol are papering in MS word and internet, but wen same entity used in Arbo-text 3b2 its showing like  "question mark"  even after Appling  all possible font please suggest ,also example Unicode entity,✋   ✋

Hi, I am running Arbortext 6.0 and trying to get boxing to display in the editor window. I have seen past posts stating that boxing will NOT be displayed. However, in the help center, it shows that it should:Could someone please clarify why boxing doesn't display, or can it be displayed?Many thanks,Ali 

How to notify a user when the subprocess status is busy? Sometimes when we publish any incorrect document (document with some unwanted special characters), the PE server is getting stuck and all the sub processes are getting occupied (leading to "All Sub processes are currently busy" error for all subsequent document publishes).Do we have any API to retrieve the status of the sub process ?

I have issue with downloading arbotext cadprocess software downloading issues

Could someone please let me know where I can find some documentation on Arbotext architecture with details of server config and CPU requirements etc. Any help will be really appreciated. I am not very techy I need to provide the info to a 3rd party to support the application. ThanksSaibal

We have a script that automatically adds the index tag to our parts catalog. I want to take it one step further and would like to add two profiles to the index element. In the acl script it has an entryinsert_tag(indexterm)oid_modify_attr(oid_caret(),"audience","value","otherprops","value 2"); If I do this I get a to many arguments warning.

Objective: To pass in variable into substitute command. ex: execute("substitute 'src'dst'") Problem: Arbortext $ERROR says its parsing error claiming a missing variable. However testing response($outputVariable) provides the expected value output to the screen. Leading to confusion on why I can see I have the correct value, and the substitute functions works when using a dummy hardcoded string value, but not when passing in a value retrieved from a dictionary I created using another text file.    The Process:   I have two files. 1 text file  & 1 xml file.   open text file create an associative array (dictionary) from the key/value pairs in the text file.  close text file >>> key/value access is successful. response($outputVariable) function displays expected value.   open xml file perform substitution close xml file >>> If i place a dummy s tring value like a word "testing" then the substitution works flawlessly >>> If i

We publish our files ps and distill them to get the file down to a manageable file size. We have found that if you select some text in the pdf you get ) instead of words. If I go to edit pdf in Acrobat it tells me that the font is calibri so It seems to find the font. Where do I look for the issue. Bryon
