PTC to discontinue #Arbortext to Documentum/WDK adapter after 6.1.
I'm trying to compose using an XSL stylesheet from the command line but can't seem to get the proper syntax. Any help would be appreciated. I'm on version Arbortext 6x and I believe some of the ACL packages have changed.Sarah

Hello adepters,We are automating some Arbortext Editor 5.4 installations for our writers, and are looking for a way to have the Arbortext license key added without user interaction (we have one corporate key for all users). Is there a command line interface for the licadmin.exe tool?Or, can we use the same 6000.lic file on all machines? This file looks to be the same on different machines with the exception of the last three lines, and we're not sure what data those lines contain.Or, can a deployment kit handle the license? From what I've read, I think deployment kits just streamline the software install, and still require the separate licadmin.exe tool, but I'm not positive.thanks!Melanie Petersman
I'm posting this because I hope it helps someone. I was having a lot of trouble with hyphenation breaking before a period<title><xref/></title>So it lookedlike this:2.1 YADA/Yada-yada (YADA) Yada/Yada. (Figure 2).Not cool. The first period is from the xref's beforetext, the space after the first period is from the xref's aftertext and the last period is from the title's aftertext.I played with hyphrule, keeps, wordsp, quadding, hyphenad nauseum. but this is the only thing that worked: moving the period and space to the xref's beforetext, and hitting the space bar after the period like so:<savetext textid="beforetext" conrule="\." \,.9em&quot;=" placemnt="before"/">This didn't work: <savetext textid="beforetext" conrule="\.\,1em" placemnt="before"/"> and putting \. \ in the aftertext didn't work, either.
Dear all,I have 2 questiones, (1) when I creat a new topic (the default DITA topic), the table attribute is as the following:I want change the table attribute, when I add a table element, the defaut table attribute is 3pt.Can I realize it? Using Arbortext Architect? How?(2) I want define a new element, using different font, size, or color. Can I realize it? Using Arbortext Architect? How? Can you show a simple example, or a guide link? thanks!I think maybe it's a simple and basic questions because we didn't use Architect before, and interested in it. Your assistance will be highly appreciated in this regard. Thanking youLorin
I can center text using the HTML and XHTML doctypes by editing the attributes but can't seem to do this in SGML or XML based docs like DocBook or any of our custom DTDs. It appears that it is disabled somehow but I don't know where to enable this? I also tried to solve this by clicking on Format --> Touchup --> Custom Touchup --> Horizontal tab --> Justification = centerDoes the solution involve the Styler? DTD? FOSI?Please help, thanks!
We recently upgraded from Epic 5.4 to Epic 6.0.. The graphics show up in the XML file, but do not show in the composed PDF. Is there a setting I am overlooking? I went back and looked at all of the settings in 5.4 just to check, but everything in 6.0 seemed to be pointing to the right directories. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Hello,We are running batch routines from the command line to convert XML to HTML. For each document, Arbortext opens, shows the window and closes. Does someone know how to do that in a "hidden" mode without opening and Arbortext session window? Thanks for your help!Hans-J Bgalke
Does anyone know what will not function correctly when using Arbortext editor 5.4 with the CSDB AAD build M070 & up ? The software compatibility matrix states that I need to have version 6.0 or 6.1 to work with AAD M040 through M090.
Hi!This might be a simple question, but I can't seem to find the answer. I need to add an LEP element to my DTD. Dear All,I have question that we need add some sign (like arrowhead) in the picture, but we didn't want change the picture file. Can I editor the image in Arbortext Editor under the circumstances do not change the picture file?In office word, we can add somthing like these, it likes a layers on the original picture.Could you give me any tips please? I've a macro that works out filenames and then expects to load an illustratiuon with that filename. Would be great if it could pop up a warning if the file isn't found.
I should add that for a DTD (really not sure for a schema) there will alwaysbe one 'unused' element. The unused element in the DTD is the 'root' element . Schema does notrequire a root, so there may be multiple top level type elements. Lynn
I've got one user who gets the error message in the subject line every time she tries to use the standard "Edit => Create Inclusion from Selection" menu item. No other users can replicate the issue. Anyone have any ideas?
We are currently using the ATImath DTD for all equations in our documents. We are beginning to plan a switch to MathML. Does anyone know of any applications for converting from ATImath to MathML? Have any of you done such a conversion and could offer some guidance? Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.Regards,Rick
Here is another of one of those hopefully useful scripts. I cannot takecredit for writing this one, I got it from Arbortext back when the softwarewas still called Adept. 😄 I thank Paul (and I forget his last name, who passed several years ago fromLou Gehrig's disease). This script will run in an open file that has a DTD or schema and identifyANY unused elements. You say the parser does this right, well partially itdoes. The parser will identify any elements in a content model that have notbeen declared (e.g., but is not declared). Thisscript will do the opposite, identifying any elements that are declared butnot used. Lynn
Dear All,I'm a ordinary technology writer from China, using Arbortext 6.0, I publish the PDF and Webhelp using file(F)-pubilsh(B)-PDF(B) and file(F)-pubilsh(B)-Web(W), and find some questions. My English is not good, and using the Chinese Version, when I reading the Help Documents, I feeling curiously weak and faint And I find it's very hard to find something using Chinese about Arbortext Editor and Style... The following is my quesions:1.The picture and text in table. I publish the PDF is good, but the Web html is not OK. Can I using some control, when I using one topic, publish good PDF and good Web html? Using Arbortext Style? How? 2.I publish the PDF and Webhelp using file(F)-pubilsh(B)-PDF(B), I can see the publish engine is APP. But it's strange that when I change a .style file, the publish engine is changed to FOSI. Why? can I choose it? I see the help document said the APP can't support Web, but I can publish the Web, although the format is not good... I use file(F)-pubilsh(B
Trying to figure out what type of file to use in our tech manuals. We will be using a 3d product model to generate images but our publushed tech manual (.pdf) will not be interactive (all images will publish as 2d, hopefully .tiffs). I want to be able to edit and update the graphics via creo illustrate throughout production but have no 3d interaction within the finished manual. Which file format do I want to generate from creo?
Oi, É possível fazer a simulação magnético com Creo Elements? Se sim, onde encontro material didático? Grato.
Is the a DTD out there for a Operational Supplement? We have an unusual requirement for a full COTS document to be imported into Arbortext as a supplement to a TO.I have minipulated the MIL-STD-38784 DTD to accommodate almost everything but I'm having an issue with getting the Header and Footers to accommodate me with "OPERATIONAL SUPPLEMENT". Can anyone give me some pointers?Thank you,Cindy Lake
I have exported an illustration to CGM using the S1000D V2.3 option as per the customer's specification. They have rejected it because the metafile states "ColourClass=monochrome"It should be "ColourClass=color"How do I change this?
I have a multitude of graphics in which the filename (i.e. "drawing1.cgm, drawing2.cgm, etc) needs to be added within the image area of the graphic. Can a macro be created to specifically target each file in the location they reside, copy the filename, open the graphic and paste into the graphic window?I can make a macro to "singly" do that task to one file...but now sure how to have it continuously go thru the files in a consecutive order. Thanks
